Does Not Fit, Does Not Reduce Noise, Poor Customer Service, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Hello,
My wife and I were excited to purchase these window blinds because we live directly on main street, but at $350.00 for two blinds I could have purchased two actual new 4-pain windows!
We followed the directions on the Web site and when the product arrived it is too short and not wide enough.
The company has refused to refund our money because it is a special order item. Well, perhaps if the company had taken a little more time to give their clients the information they need to make correct decisions I would not be out $350.00.
Do not waste your money, and do not waste your time.
Taken advantage of in Wisconsin.

Works great!
I carefully followed the measuring instructions but instructions left out one crucial piece of information. The "eyes" that the the curtain hangs from is about 3" lower than the top of the curtain. Not knowing that I had to allow for the curtain to be hung about 3" higher than anticipated, my curtain is about 1" too short and lets in noise and light. If it weren't for that little snafu, I would have given a 5 star.
Love my new curtain!
I am very happy with my new curtain. It has reduced neighborhood noise and as a bonus, darkens my room. I was very pleased with the ordering process, quick delivery, and quality of the product.
Good sound reduction
The curtains definitely reduce sound, approximately by half (depending on the frequency). Velcroing the sides makes a big difference. The quality is pretty good but could be improved. For the price I was disappointed the grommets were not all the same distance from the edge of the curtain (made hanging more challenging) and the fabric really should be adhered to the middle MLV layer in more places to prevent some pretty terrible bubbling/wrinkling of the frabric. It is worth the money to me but probably overpriced by about $30 in my opinion.
Pretty good
Really good black out job, but didn't quite get the noise canceling I was hoping for. Installation was easy enough, and all the hardware was included.
We purchased an Acoustidoor
We purchased an Acoustidoor and it works extremely well. It blocks out the outside noise and has allowed us to sleep much better at night.
Curtains we purchased
The curtains are very well made, will probably last forever ;-) They definitely drown out the street noise, but of course it's not sound-proof. They also make the room much darker, an added bonus.
One suggestion: there is really no mention of the velcro on the website, and I would've liked a video or photos of how the curtain is operated (i.e. photos of how to roll them up properly, how to do the velcro thing, etc.
I am sleeping better, which is what counts!
Excellent product, could not be happier!
I've read some excellent reviews and some negative ones, albeit very few. I have found the product to work very well in my home theater, I use it in a large basement window well that I can't permanently cover but need some way to block sound coming in or out. I bought a 53 * 53 and did the install myself, went well. Thanks again for the great product!
Don't Buy It.
We ordered 3 curtains from Residential Acoustics a few weeks ago, and had them for the last 2 weeks.
After arriving a week late (which is ok.. we are all human and they where ok on email communication) they have finally arrived.
We brought in a professional to hang the curtains for us so we mad sure we did it right to get the best result.
Here are our observations -
**Design and appearance / User Experience**
1. Clearly, the company dons't understand/respect design, and it seems that while they may have tried to concentrated on the technology (which is not amazing), they completely left out the part of how these are going to look in clients homes.
For the very high price (over 800$!) they just cannot use cheap plastic and materials. These curtains are more of an unfinished, factory stage, product.
Giving clients the option of "choosing colors" is just not design.
2. If your window is high, you would need to use a chair every single night in order roll down the curtains. Yeah! The system is stone age stuff.
The proper word for this would be a scandal - I don't use this word often, but it's just ridicules to expect a user to this every day.
Probably the best solution for you is to leave them down, block the light, and live in the dark. Design wise, the dark would only make them look better.
3. Be prepared for ugly velcro running all along the sides of your windows, and if you manage to stick them straight let me know, because you probably have a secret talent. When the curtains are down, it look bad, or maybe just OK, When they up.... well, no interior designer would have approved this.
I have so many ideas of how to improve and make this nicer, but it's not my job - a company that delivers an expensive and exclusive product should make sure they have done their best. No thought went into the design and experience of this product, and the pictures in the website, which are totally different from how they look in the reality, just make it worse (yes I know it's always like this, but trust me, it way off this time).
*Sound Proofing / Light**:
1. We live in New York. Yes, it's noisy.
Still, I don't think cars, ambulances, trucks, or loud people are different anywhere else in the states.
It does make a difference, things will be less louder, but it's far from what I thought it will be -the noise is still there.
We didn't think it will block 100% of the noise (and to be fair, the company didn't make such of a promise) but again, for the price it is just NOT worth it.
2. No light (maybe 5-10%) comes through these curtains. This is probably the only thing the curtains delivered in a satisfying way.
At this stage,
I would not have bought this product nor recommend it to anyone I know.

Works as advertised!
I live in downtown LA and also have an east facing apartment. the traffic noise can get kind of loud and at night can be disruptive. I found Residential Acoustics online searching for solutions and I took a chance on them. Not only is any sound at all barely even noticeable, the curtains also completely block out all the sunlight that used to pour into the bedroom, making it much easier to stay asleep until its actually time to wake up.
Filters noise but definitely doesn't block it out completely
The AcoustiCurtain is super heavy if you have a decent sized window. Definitely blocks out light well but in my experience only slightly filters noise. Definitely not "soundproof".
Not what I was expecting
I ordered a large window covering and it only had two support straps for the entire length; even though it is 6 1/2 ft wide. Can't roll it up adequately; takes two people to do it and even when we can get it rolled up, it sags since it only has two straps. Made comments to them and they said that I could send it back for additional straps etc, at my expense.
Also doesn't dampen the sound as drastically as the video. Video shows very thick material and the actual material is not that thick.

Good service, okay performance
Maybe I was expecting too much from the other positive reviews. Performance is just okay. I live on a residential 25MPH road where cars regularly go 50MPH down a hill. I already use a white noise machine. Car noises have dimmed a bit but I get woken up by vehicles zooming by, especially truck mufflers. On a positive note, it looks better than my previous blinds, so not a complete waste of $215.
Installation was easy (two people required) but as others mentioned, the velcro placement is all wrong. I'm installing my own velcro to seal the top (sides worked out) and the bottom is unable to be sealed because my window has a ledge and the curtain can't go over it or else it will really break the seal. As for rolling it up, I'm too scared to try that yet.
Shipping was FAST and arrived in tact. Measurements were to order. I'd recommend trying this product for your needs.
Excellent product; works as advertised.
Had a noise problem in my bedroom from adjacent highway traffic. Online advise and recommendations on how to order from the company were clear. Ordering process equally easy. Finished product arrived in a few days by parcel post. Installation presented no problems even for someone with limited handyman skills like me. Curtains look great and complements the looks of the room. Functionally they shut off probably 90% of outside noise. Don't have a sound meter but subjectively the results exceeded my expectations. It was great dealing with a company located in my own home town too.
Exactly as described and does a great job of dampening noise.
I read all of the reviews and did some research on the product. I then ordered a large acousticurtain for my bedroom window (approx. 66x55.)
The communication from the company and shipping across country was perfect.
We bought a home on a busy street with a 45 mph speed limit. I had no idea how badly the traffic noise would affect our sleep, and we were being woke up by loud cars and trucks accelerating by 6AM every day. I went online desperately searching for an answer. I was really tired!
The acousticurtain made the most sense to me so we measured and ordered a custom size.
It arrived and it was big and somewhat heavy. We expected this from prior reviews. I now doubt that it would work so well if it wasn't so heavy.
Bottom line- It works exactly as described. It blocks out and dampens enough noise that we can now sleep. I would describe it as- if the noise level was previously at 10, it is now at 3-4. I don't even hear small regular traffic, and those big loud trucks are so much quieter, I usually sleep through it. AMAZING!
BTW, we chose to go to Lowes and get a piece of trim wood that fit over our window, screw that into studs, and then screw the curtain hooks into the wood. It made sense that it would be more sturdy than screwing the hooks into the wall directly. We also use the Velcro and I believe that it really helps keep the maximum amount of sound out.
Also, once you get the hang of rolling it up and down it's pretty easy and allows you to have your window when not sleeping.
I am so happy to have found this product and I would recommend it to anyone with noise problems. And no, I don't work for the company.

Item was as described, fast shipping.
This curtain was as described and the shipping was quick although we are in same area as the company. As far as the sound reduction goes, first we have not and are not planning on using the velcro to fasten all the sides down. We ordered the blind to be about 4 inches larger than the window on all sides. I would say overall it has reduced our noise by 50% on average. The louder the noise the less it seems to reduce. On medium to low level noise it does a good job. We were realistic in what we thought this blind would do and are satisfied. If you think it is going to soundproof all noise then you will be disappointed.
My acoustical shade
I live on a street that used to be small sleepy street --- in the last couple of years, it has become a major thoroughfare, and the noise in my kitchen was unsettling. I ordered one of the shades, having measured by myself, and it arrived very timely. I even installed it myself !!! Alone !!! (Who says women can't be handy!!). I love it. It is attractive enough -- but most of all --- it cut down at least 80% of the traffic noise and I can now have my coffee in peace!!! I would highly recommend this product. JH, Sarasota
Blocks sounds and light but is VERY heavy and not very movable
This curtain certainly does mute sound and light and the colors and shipping and everything were right on. However it was MUCH MUCH heavier than I anticipated. We bought this as a covering for a loft opening in our infant son's room as an alternative to permanently covering up the loft opening to the floor below. It works fine but is so heavy that we can't really open and close it easily so we pretty much leave it open - covering the opening which is a bummer. So the product is good, just a lot heavier that anticipated so not good for everyday on demand opening and closing.
Really works
Curtain is very heavy and it took a while to hang, but it really works. Measure very carefully. It took a little time to get responses from customer service, but they did respond every time.
Fantastic product
The process in which to order the acoustic drape was easy, so easy I was concerned that maybe it would not be right. When it arrived, it was was exactly what I expected, only better. Top quality and actually stylish. Great job, thank you!
