Great for internet but intentionally disingenuous for calls & SMS
While this service was wonderful for internet connectivity & speed while travelling in Japan I feel like the promos are intentionally disingenuous. They say keep your own number, this means one thing to the typical person, I will be able to make & receive phone calls & SMS messages.
This is not true, there is no phone or SMS service included. Its a real stretch to draw a line from this to WhatsApp because WhatsApp is an internet service.
Your number is not accessible to people calling you
You can not make phone calls
You can not send SMS messages
You can not receive SMS messages
This marketing spin is intentionally disingenuous and it stinks.

I do want to clarify this as clearly as possible because I understand how this could feel confusing if it wasn’t expected.
Our eSIMs are data-only services, which means they provide mobile internet but do not include traditional voice calls or SMS services. When we say you can “keep your number,” this refers to keeping your physical SIM active in your phone for calls and texts, while the eSIM handles your data connection.
So in practice:
Your home SIM can still receive calls and SMS
The eSIM provides your internet connection
Apps like WhatsApp, Messenger, FaceTime, etc. use that data to make calls and messages over the internet
We absolutely don’t intend to mislead anyone, but I’m sorry that the way this was presented didn’t match your expectations. Feedback like this is really important, and I’ll be sure to pass it on to our team.
Thanks again for raising it, and I’m sorry again for the frustration.

EASY TO USE
I found it easy to choose, select and purchase an eSim plan. Although familiar with eSims, I found the instructions to load clear and accurate. When I arrived in UK/EU, I used the free hotel WiFi to access the app before activating. Android activation instructions were also clear and precise; and I had no issues. 7 days into my trip; service in UK, NL, CZ, SK and AT has been a good mix of mostly 5G but occasionally 4G. I have restarted my phone occasionally when the service appeared to drop out but I knew that it was still available.

Reliable eSIM with Outstanding Support
Travelled around Europe for more than five weeks using a Simify eSIM and it worked brilliantly from the moment we landed until we left. Both my partner and I used it and it served us really well throughout the trip. Also used it in the Middle East knowing it would likely work although I did encounter some VPN-related issues on my phone. However, their technical support was outstanding, they responded very quickly and were able to resolve the issue promptly. Thanks to Chlark for the great support in getting my eSIM up and running. Highly recommend Simify and will definitely use their service again in the future. I would also recommend it to my friends and family.

Soooo easy

Easy to Set up and great value
really easy to set up and great value. The only thing was in the instructions it said to allow data switching and to leave your original number enabled. I didnt fo this as I was worried it eould switch and Id then have to pay roaming fees.

Just to clarify your point ,enabling data switching and keeping your original number active won’t trigger roaming charges unless you manually use your home carrier for data. Your phone will still prioritise the travel eSIM for data if set correctly.
We totally understand the caution though, and we’re happy to help anytime if you’re unsure during setup.
