We needed help and direction with Fletcher our 3 month old Schnauzer and Alice provided this with her home visits over a three week period. The instructions and tips have started to provide Fletcher and us some structure to his training and the results are now starting to show. We have also booked four classes at the Elementary Dog Park which will allow Fletcher some socialising with other dogs and further tips when walking him outside. Thanks for your help Alice. In February 2023, we brought home our JRT mix, Nemo, who was quite nervous and reactive, displaying some tough behaviors. Over the course of nearly a year, despite trying everything from the Dogs Trust, including a dedicated six-month stint with an animal behaviorist, anxiety medications, personalized dog walking, and various training efforts, we saw little progress.Then we met Will, who has been exceptional with Nemo. Since January 2024, we've participated in two of Will's group courses and have already signed up for a third! In addition, we experienced a personalized one-on-one session at home and a reactivity-focused session at Golden Acre Park. Training with Will has led to remarkable improvements in Nemo's overall behavior, his reactions to other dogs, and his lead control and recall. I never imagined Nemo could walk near other dogs without barking and lunging! Will has shared fantastic advice for both inside and outside the home, which I believe has significantly boosted Nemo's confidence and our bond with him as his owners and leaders. I'm excited to continue our work with Will thank you so much for your support!

I have been attending a small group session in Acaster Malbis with my 19 month old cocker, Dolly. Alice provided excellent training techniques with demonstrations on how to implement these skills in day to day life. Alice is friendly, welcoming and even tailors the group session to suit your individual puppy/dog training needs! I would highly recommend Alice’s classes and dog walking services, she’s brilliant!

Our labrador, Frankie, really benfitted from Alice's small sized professional classes at Elementary Dog Park. It allowed him to learn new skills and socialise happily in a supervised environment with plenty of space to train without distractions. The location and timing of the classes at the weekend were perfect for us too. We learned a lot and the skills were easy to apply and embed at home. We can't wait for the next level of training to start! We'd highly recommend Smart Dogs.

We have recently completed intermediate puppy training for Rio and he has come on leaps and bounds with all the tips and tricks we have learnt from Alice who Rio absolutely loves! It's great to have small class sizes in a big open field so you can move into your own space and practice further away from the distractions. We will be sure to book on to more courses in the future.

Will's training has helped us in ways we could never have imagined. We used the 4 week block sessions & also 1-1 specific training. He has so many techniques & tips that it can be so hard to apply everything consistently. However, what we did take away has made a huge difference. Highly recommended. If you don't take everything away then just practise what you can. You will be surprised at the results. Thank you Will.

We have just finished another group session in Leeds with Will, and feel the benefit of every session.

We first started going to the group sessions last year when we got our puppy, and have attended group sessions, as well as had a 1-2-1 session since, and will continue to in the future.

We feel there’s so much to learn, it makes so much sense to go to these sessions, as it’s easy to work on some things and forget the others, so going back just gives you more each time.

We will continue to go to group sessions, and will continue to recommend Will and SmartDOGS to anyone and everyone!!

We attended a 4 session obedience course with Alice. She is very knowledgeable, had an excellent rapport with all the dogs and was patient and encouraging with both owners and dogs. She explained the reasons behind particular instructions and we were able to use everything she covered at home. We are following up with some 1:1 training. I have no hesitation in recommending her.

Alice is a wonderful trainer, very patient and thorough with instructions. I attended a group training session with my 10 month old puppy, and we both had a lot of fun in every lesson meaning that we both mastered the commands quickly. Thank you!

Alice was fab. Not only did she clearly explain the steps on how to train the command, she also explained the reasons why it’s a useful command.
Alice gave a demonstration of each command but allowed us plenty of time to have a practice, giving useful corrections to ensure we were implanting them correctly thus not confusing the dog.
This was mine and my puppies 1st class and I will definitely be doing other classes that Alice offers.

Our 3 year old Springer has really responded to Will's training classes and her focus and recall has improved lots. I'm now more confident about her recall on walks, and Zuri has loved the learning and treats that go with it! Thanks Will.

I’ve always trained my own dogs but my latest addition knocked my confidence- So I signed up for classes for myself as much as her! Having finished one course I am now doing another and taking my older dog to recap her training. Will is so enthusiastic, supportive and easy going it’s not taken long for my confidence to grow and feel better handling both dogs again!

We rescued our JRT mixed breed Nemo in February 2023 and he was a very anxious and reactive dog, with very challenging behaviour. After nearly 1 year of having him, we felt we had exhausted all options from the Dogs Trust (including 6 months with an animal behaviourist), anxiety medication, 1 to 1 dog walking and various training sessions. There had been very little improvement.
Will has been brilliant with Nemo. We have now attended 2 of Will's group courses since January 2024 (and we have signed up for a 3rd!) plus a home based 1 to 1 and a reactivity 1 to 1 session at Golden Acre park. We have noticed a huge improvement in Nemo's behaviour, reactivity towards other dogs, and his lead control and recall generally since starting training with Will. I never thought Nemo would be able to walk close to other dogs without barking and lunging! Will has given us some great advice for both inside and outside the home and I really do think this has helped to build Nemo's confidence and his relationship with us as his owners / leaders. Will is great! He’s helping us to socialise and train our reactive dog. We’ve seen improvements in behaviour through his support and techniques and look forward to continuing our training together.

I had a 1-2-1 with Will ahead of starting training classes with my 12 week old pup.
I was keen to not pick up on any bad habits that we would have to spend a lot of time and money to solve later down the line. It was absolutely money well spent! Will took the time to get to understand what we need from Dotty (the new pup) as a family to pet. He went through everything we will need to know to hopefully have a well rounded confident young dog. His golden rules of training all make so much sense. Little things that I hadn’t even thought about, once put through a dog’s eyes will make a big difference to my approach in my efforts to train a dog and not have her train me 😂. Although I do consider myself a fairly well experienced dog owner there is a reason why Will is a professional! I will definitely be reaching out for further training as pup grows and I would recommend Will and Smart Dogs without hesitation.

Can’t recommend Will enough , he gives great tips and advice and is so easy to approach Wilson lacked focus and wasn’t very confident around groups of strangers and dogs but since starting our group training sessions he has come on leaps and bounds , to to the point he sometimes will lay chilled whilst surrounded by dogs and humans whilst Will talks to the group..he can even be used as a demonstration dog now in the group too ! His focus has massively shifted which has helped improve his lead walking, the training is in and around real life situations with distractions which I find helps with the training ,we have just signed up for the next training session in May.

Will came to us for a 121 session with our anxious dog. He explained his golden rules and the reasoning behind them which made perfect sense. We then attended a group course where everything was put into action. Our dog is now much better behaved and less anxious and we understand his behaviours much better. Will is brilliant with the dogs and the humans giving clear instructions.

Very friendly and approachable would defintely reccomend for anyone wanting to train their dog and get results.

Introduced Will to our 8 week old puppy Mylo. Will was amazing with him and has given us a really useful, tailored training guide to follow. Will is so approachable, knowledgeable and no question is to small or silly, he really put me at ease. We will be starting training classes with Will soon and can’t wait to develop Mylo into a well rounded and settled little dog. Thank you so much Will for what you have helped us with so far and can’t wait to learn more. Cant recommend Smart dogs enough.
