Will approached me online after I'd mentioned that I was struggling with a few things with my GSD. Given the fact there is.a few hundred miles between myself and Will, which meant I couldn't visit in person for 1-2-1 of group training sessions, will kindly suggested doing the training via video chat, absolutely fantastic idea!
After having an initial introductory video call where Will gave me a few insights on command structure and the basics so that I can build on them, I have tried and tested them on our beautiful GSD today and she was an angel to work with. I look forward to speaking with will some more and expanding my knowledge! Highly recommend asking will for a video appointment if your out of area like Me or if you can't get there. Definitely worth it, and proves you don't necessarily have to go in person if your not able to. No issue too big or small when you have the direct communication solong as you engage, listen and practice as taught.

Will and team are great. They are so supportive and love all dogs.
Will really bonds with the dogs and quickly understands their vulnerabilities.
We are planning to retake the class just to keep things fresh ❤️

Margot our 17 week old puppy has just finished her 4 weeks obedience course at Sherburn. There is already a huge improvement in her behaviour and this will continue to improve with the clear and simple tasks we have learnt from both trainers, Will and Alice. Would definitely recommend!

We have a rescue Dobermann, Delta. Will has worked with us and given us tips to help us and Delta. She is now much more attentive to our commands, walks better and is much less reactive. Dex, my 8 month old GSD, is walking so much better on the lead after the 4 week course with Smart Dogs. Really helpful tips and guidance that you can use at home. Dex really enjoyed the classes and we both learned so much. Highly recommend!

Just finished 4 weeks obedience course with my dog sky, by the end of the 4 weeks I could see big differences in her. Will the trainer was great, very clear and simple tasks to follow. Thanks for your help, I’d definitely recommend

We found Will via Google search after deciding we needed some help with crate training, and obedience training for our puppy.
Will got back to us very quickly and came to see us at our home more or less straight away. He took his time in explaining everything and the reasons why our puppy was acting the way he was.
After following his advice to the T, only 5 days later it’s like we have a totally different pup! The whining is little to non, he loves sleeping and going into his crate through the day and will even sleep through the night now (something he would not do before). I’m so impressed with the progress my dog has made in such a short space of time, I will be recommending Smart Dogs to everyone! Thanks again Will!

We arrived with 2 rottweiler brothers who were just under a year old. I was struggling with general training and lead walking. Will was amazing and never gave up on us. He gave us the tools we needed to succeed. Now at almost 2 years old I can safely walk them both together stress free and home life is so enjoyable. Any training issues you may have Will is definitely your man. Can't thank him enough.

Excellent 1:1 session and obedience course delivered by Will. We contacted Will for some help training our 15 month old mixed breed dog, Bram. We were specifically looking for assistance with jumping up, pulling on the lead and general mischievous behaviour.

We arranged a 1:1 session so Will could meet Bram to observe these behaviours and we were given some really useful, easy to follow advice that we could implement straight away to start correcting these behaviours.

We then joined a four week group course to further these skills and then some new ones. Will was really attentive during the session to ensure that everyone was making progress at whatever stage of training they were at and Bram always seemed to have a really good time.

Bram has come along leaps and bounds since the first session and while we still have work to do, we feel confident that she will continue to progress.

We have a five month old maltipoo and wanted to get her trained nice and early - I knew about Will through a friend and he has not disappointed. We had a one-to-one session with him going through basic commands and what and what not to do and then have been to a four week group session in Leeds.
The sessions were well structured, very informative and safe for your dog as all dogs are kept on leads. We are going to use the knowledge he has given us to further train Miley and if we need a refresher at any point we will be contact him again.

After using different trainers that had negative and old fashioned methods..(5 sessions costing nearly £1000) we didn’t even use the last one. We then luckily found Will!
We first attended his group classes with our younger dog, we enjoyed the first one and learnt so much we brought our older dog the week after!
They can also be reactive so we booked a 1:1, Wills methods are really positive and he explains why we are doing things and offers support throughout even between sessions!
We now feel really confident walking both dogs and they have improved so much! Can’t fault him at all and would recommend his classes to every dog owner and a 1:1 if you need that extra support! He’s so kind and welcoming you don’t feel silly asking any questions he’s just great!

Heard about Will via York Dog Park, we just wished we'd found him earlier. We have a very lively typical Cocker Spaniel puppy who was becoming aggressive with resource guarding and thinking he ruled the household. We had a 1:1 session with Will who explained in simple terms what we were doing wrong and how to improve his behaviour. After following Wills advice we have noticed a big difference. We have started attending Wills puppy classes and after one session learnt so much more than we did after 5 sessions with our previous far more expensive trainer. Can highly recommend Will.

We first met Will when Opal was 4 months old, she is now 7 months. In that time we have had a couple of 1:1 sessions and attended group sessions and would 100% recommend both. He explains things so its really easy to understand and you never feel stupid asking for help or asking a question. I feel that me and my daughter have made a good start to training Opal following Wills advice and training tips.

Just finished our second set of puppy training sessions with our very excitable Labrador (lion!). Will has the magic touch - he is the dog whisperer. The experience has been fun and his advice invaluable.

Once again we've had a day of mixed emotions. I'm so happy that I decided to do a refresher course with Frankie run by Will, but sad that it is over again. All I can say is thank you Will, from the bottom of my heart for helping me become a better and more confident owner. Frankie is much happier in himself and hopefully will continue to improve and grow. Without your help and knowledge we wouldn't be where we are today. But I sincerely hope today wasn't the last time we see you, Frankie adores you!! Thank you for everything.

Would highly recommend! As a first time puppy owner, we arranged a 1 to 1 session with Will for some advice about things we were struggling with. We also attended Will’s 4 week beginner puppy classes.

Ralph (our 4 month old labradoodle) is an intelligent and loving pup, but can also be a bit anxious just generally around dogs, new people and new environments. Will’s teaching is fun and easy to understand. He has really helped both me and Ralph to build our confidence together. I’ve seen a definite improvement in a short space of time! Thank you!

Will is fantastic with dogs and took time out of his holiday to help me and my friend with a few issues we both had with our rescues. Perla was barking at men when we were out and they were either coming up to our table or even sometimes just walking past. Will gave me some advice which I can honestly say has totally worked. She hasn't barked at anyone now for ages and I can't recommend him highly enough! Thank you will x

Attending Will's obedience course with Bonnie became the highlight of our week for those 4 weeks!

It was a huge step forward for us to be able to join in a class environment, after training at home and 1:1 for several months to reduce Bonnie's reactivity to people and dogs.

Will was hugely supportive to us and Bonnie. Attending the course allowed us to grow Bonnie's skills in a safe environment that would have been overwhelming for her previously. And since completing the course we have had the know-how and confidence to take Bonnie to a couple of busier environments that we would have previously avoided.

I'm really looking forward to attending the course again!
