If I could give negative stars I would
If I could give negative stars I would. This has been an absolute nightmare experience. Lies from the very beginning. You think you are working with Starline, but they bid it out to another company who won't guarantee when your stuff will arrive. In addition, they underbid the job and the actual mover wanted 50% more to take stuff. They wouldn't even take all the stuff. Still waiting for stuff to arrive after 4 days and they are saying at least another 8 days. I have called and texted Starline to discuss this matter many times to no avail. Update: The delivery truck finally arrived. The company they bid the job out to worked hard to get my belongings delivered 3 days after Starline had promised. Another huge issue we had was that this was a company paid move. Starline assured us they would keep the company payment on file so the remaining payments could be paid the same way, but neither the pickup company nor the delivery company knew anything about that. In fact, they said that is impossible to do. I had to provide CASH upon delivery which was supposed to be Monday morning at 7 am (no way to get that much cash between Sunday afternoon and monday morning). They were very late so the company was able to get the cash but it is ridiculous that in this day in today's electronic environment the company refused to take any electronic payment even Zelle. When the truck did arrive they yet again charged us extra because there were more that 7 stairs to the second floor which they knew about. I am not sure how many steps they thought a second floor would be but I have never seen a second floor with less that 7 steps. Finally, I watched my wood desk come off the truck destroyed. The packers ripped off the legs and just taped to the body so it could be set on its side easily. Even the unloaders were appalled by the state of the desk. Again, DO NOT use this company. I know they said I in their response that there was more stuff that I told them but that is just not true. I told them exactly what I had. I even called back to tell them there was a bike that was forgotten on the list so they could adjust for that which they never did. I repeated over and over again that I didn't want surprises so they should bid high. In the end we paid over 50% more than was bid.

SCAMMERS!
I'm 60 years old and this has been the move from hell. Company Drama. I can't give any details but we're taking Starline and United Way Movers base out of Missouri, to court. SCAMMERS!! Estimate and actual moving total was double the amount $26,000.
Pamela and Tom Wehmeier
Date of move is in comment.
United Way Movers were rude, left garbage on my patio and threatened to leave all my furniture if i keep complaining! Tom & I were scared of the employees.
So many damages to furniture & glassware.
Talk to Kevin Scott in your company. He never answered calls, email or texts!!!
Account was paid in full before the truck was unloaded on June 3rd, 2024.
This company is the worst!!

If I could give this company zero…
If I could give this company zero stars, I would. This organization is exceedingly unprofessional and disrespectful, especially considering I spent over $2000 on their services. Initially, they persuaded me to switch from my original moving company by disparaging their competition, which was a mistake.
Furthermore, communication was severely lacking. Despite multiple calls to confirm the movers' arrival, I was repeatedly told they would contact me, which never happened. On May 30th, I spoke with Mandy, Berto, Michael, and Leanne, who were all exceptionally rude. The company's internal communication is clearly deficient. They pressured me into having my belongings moved today and then threatened to void my contract if the movers couldn't take my items.
I am relocating to another state, and this company has only added to my stress. Their four-star rating is misleading; the company is disorganized, fails to communicate effectively, and is highly unprofessional. Additionally, they attempted to impose additional fees before the move. Although I was initially told by Michael that the movers would handle packing and wrapping, I was later informed there would be an extra charge for boxes for my TV. This inconsistency left me in the dark about numerous details.
I strongly advise conducting thorough research before selecting a moving company and not being deceived by inflated ratings. This company is not worth the expense; they lack professionalism and transparency. Leanne claimed I had agreed to certain terms based on a phone call, but I was misled throughout the entire process. When I called customer service for assistance, the mover arrived an hour later and gave me an ultimatum: move my belongings today or not at all.
I am moving from Georgia to Tennessee and had everything planned accordingly. However, the company refused to communicate with me after I expressed my frustration, which was justified given their mishandling of my time and money. To add to my previous experience, the company ultimately did not move my belongings. Jennifer has since become involved, and I recorded her making derogatory comments about a client in Spanish while the driver laughed, which I found highly unprofessional.
Communication issues continued as I had to approach the driver directly to inquire about additional charges, but he did not speak English, making it difficult to understand the situation. When I contacted Star Line customer service, they began imposing additional fees. Due to a lack of space in the truck, they attempted to charge me an extra $315 on top of the $2500 I had already paid.
Moreover, their recorded lines can confirm that Michael told me there would be no stair fee. However, Jennifer insisted that only the first seven stairs were free, contrary to the contract which states that the first flight of stairs is free at either the pickup or drop-off location. Jennifer pressured me to pay the $75 stair fee immediately, giving me the ultimatum to either move my belongings downstairs myself or pay the fee. When I asked if someone could assist me, she refused and threatened to cancel the contract, making further derogatory comments.
Despite my attempts to reach customer service, no one responded. The driver eventually left, leaving my belongings stranded in Georgia with no way to transport them to Tennessee. Prior to speaking with Jennifer, I had discussed the situation with dispatch, but they were uncooperative and argumentative, adding fees once they arrived, knowing clients are often desperate and more likely to pay. This behavior led to frustration and a heated exchange as they continually spoke over me, ignoring my valid concerns.
In summary, the company’s lack of professionalism, transparency, and poor communication resulted in a deeply unsatisfactory experience. They reassured me everything was fine until the deposit was paid, at which point the situation deteriorated significantly.

Starline Vanlines SCAMMERS
They gave us a quote and cut us a bunch of "deals" because my boyfriend is also a Veteran, they made us think the move would be right around 10,000 give or take, we forgot a few items so we called back and adjusted that and paid a little extra to compensate and the guy MIKE said "okay I'll also compensate for a few more things you may have missed and provide extra room just in case" okay cool, great, several days pass and we are trying to get a hold of Mike to let him know some updates about our move "he's out of office" my boyfriend said please write us so we can update this at your earliest convenience, it's now two days before the move, still no word from Mike, the next day we get an email from a woman named Mandy, her estimate is showing way way more than what mike had quoted us, we argue back anf forth for a while that we had told mike what we had and he quoted us lower than he should have i guess and that's a HIM problem not ours. After all day of this my boyfriend talked her down a bit so we decided to continue with it, but down another 3 thousand something for deposit (we already put 5 thousand something down to begin with) but at this point we felt we had to because they wouldn't let us cancel and get our deposit back since we read the contract as "you could cancel 72 hrs before the move, but it's actually 72 hours after signing the contract" so we felt at fault for the misread at first...now with the second deposit down we're feeling hopeful the rest of the move would go smoothly, they told us to pack as much stuff as we could into things like dresser drawers, entertainment centers and stuff like that to reduce the amount of boxes and utilize our space, we unpacked several boxes and did just that ....so now it's the day of the move, movers said they would be here at 1pm, at 9pm the day before they changed it to 12:30, whatever 30 mins no big deal, the day of the move they call at 7:30 and say theyll be here in 2 hours, we finish what we need to frantically to get all stuff finalized, movers arrive and walk through The house not saying much but taking pictures and talking to each other in Spanish. then they go outside and they're talking on the phone to someone. we assume it's a boss or something but they're not doing any work and the other one's just sitting on the curb. the ones on the phone for quite a while while the other one just sits on the curb. not doing anything finally we suspected something was up. the one gets off the phone and talks to my boyfriend and quotes him a new quote saying the end total of it all will be $23,000 total where as opposed to it was supposed to be about $14,000 total. that's a pretty huge difference. we also look in the truck and half of the truck space is taken up by someone else's stuff. this now means that we're not even getting a full amount of truck space so they misquoted us for the size too. so now we've been misquoted on price three times and misquoted on the size. we are pissed. we said we are not paying that much. that's absolutely ridiculous, especially when the total was supposed to be $14,000. we've already put our deposit down and they said that they wouldn't give us our deposit back. the movers sit around for a long time not doing anything and then when we tell them that they need to Go because we are not paying that much. they sit around in front of our house forever and then come back into our garage and start looking at stuff like they're going to start packing it up. my boyfriend's dad went out there and talked to them and said that they needed to leave. we were not going through with this move after they did leave. we got called by starline Vans and the company that was also the movers budget line Vans or something and they called us about seven times each. even though we were telling them that they were a shady company and we're not going through with either of them. they kept trying to quote" make it better but how can they make it better when everything has been horrible thus far? we will never go through another company like this. we decided we're just going to go through Penske and move the stuff ourselves. this is just a warning if you were thinking about going through this company. don't don't listen to that guy. Mike. don't listen to that woman. Mandy, they're out to scam your money. this whole company is a scam and will run your bank account dry making it harder to move. do yourself a favor and save yourself a bunch of stress. don't go through this company

'RUN FOREST RUN"
If Starline Van Lines was the movie, Forest Gump, we'd find ourselves at the point where Jenny yelled, 'RUN FOREST RUN!"
Starline Van Lines is NOT a mover, they are a "Broker" who posts moving jobs to sub contractors - like the defunct cable TV show, "Shipping Wars".
Once booked, they devoid themselves of any culpability/responsibility for the person THEY chose. And, when things go wrong, like boxes missing, damaged personal property, etc, they point you to the person they chose and wash their hands of the entire process.
Starline takes their cut of the total cost of a move and then, such as our case in all of the above, addition fees for the personal property can and were added.
This company is a total sham and I encourage anyone reading this to find a moving company that takes responsibility from door to door. It will end up costing you the same as if you hired an actual mover, NOT a BROKER.
PER THEIR RESPONSE:
Your sales guy, Curtis Connelly, never once said Starlines was a broker - in fact, when I inquired, Curtis touted the length of time he's been in the moving business leading me to believe I was speaking with a company on par with an actual mover.
In any case, you offered no help in holding the mover you chose, D Logistics Movers, out of Tacoma Washington, accountable for their shoddy work. I sent your company a video and multiple pictures of both the damage D Logistics caused to my personal property. Additionally, it took over a week and multiple phone calls before I finally got the insurance company to file a claim against D Logistics - which now they tell me it will be up to 90 days before they contact me again.
Starline is a terrible company with no regard for the customer. I stand by my comments, EVERYONE READING THIS, RUN, RUN RUN....you will thank me later.

If I could do zero stars that would be my pick. I guess it depends on who you work with to get top notch service. Company sucks ass. I'm glad other people had good service but I will not be recommending, NOT helpful and only want your money not your business. I will be contacting an attorney to file suit in small claims.

This company is a SCAM!
This company is a SCAM!
I paid the deposit in March. The QC team was supposed to call me on Thursday-Friday
21-22 March if not before then. That did not happen. The movers latest pick up date was supposed to be Monday 25 March. That did not happen. I have made NUMEROUS phone calls and emails trying to get an answer as to what’s going on. Of those phone calls, 8 times I have been told “you’ll be receiving a call back shortly” with time frames ranging from 30 minuets-6 hours. Not one time have a received any sort of phone call or email in response.
I was put into a position where I had to hire another company to move my family and I do to the lack of communication and professionalism.
When I did get someone on the phone (Mike) I was asked “Why are you trying to cancel your past your pick up date” to which my response was “that’s a really great question”
I am now battling months later to try and get my money back, I can't get a response to emails. Everytime I call on the phone I'm told “I'll pass your file over” and the process repeats.
All I want is a my refund of $4,500 as absolutely nothing was done.
SCAM NOT A COMPANY OF THERE WORD
We agreed on $2000 as per contract
They charged me $2941 when they delivered
They wouldn’t unload it until I paid in full
Starline wouldn’t answer the phone or call me back
Plus computer screen is cracked now

They are great movers and fast
I love starline van lines everytime I hire them they get the job done quickly, seriously these guys are no joke i recently moved from Texas to Florida and I didn’t have to worry about anything because they made it so easy on me Me and my husband appreciate there bussines .
Not a shipping company, dishonest brokers.
When I needed to ship furniture and housewares from Belmont, MA to Austin, TX and San Francisco, CA I started looking online to find the best price for my shipping needs. After speaking with a number of sales reps from a number of companies I found Starline Van Lines. They seemed a good shipping company. I received an acceptable quote from a sales rep on the phone at and decided to go with them.
When the movers showed up a couple of weeks later to pick up everything, they refused to continue loading my freight unless I agreed to an additional 20% shipping cost. When I asked to speak with a manager over the phone I was told by her, "I don't give a damn what some broker somewhere has quoted you. Sign, or we will put everything back inside."
At that point I realized I had been lied to and that Starline Van Lines is not a shipping company, but a shipping broker.
I emailed and called Starline. They did not respond to my emails or return my phone calls when I tried to get a refund for the difference. I finally gave up.
This company will give you fake quotes to get your business and let you hang when an actual shipper shows up and demands more money. At which point you are screwed.
Do not do business with these crooks.
EDIT AFTER STARLINE RESPONSE TO MY REVIEW.
In their response Starline Van Lines lied again. I did not have any additions on the day of shipment pickup. The changes I made were made well in advance of the ship[ping date of July 28 as required by the contract I had signed. The supposedly added items is also not what the dispute over the added charge was about with the actual shipping company.
It had to pay extra, because the driver claimed that my freight was taking up more than the allotted 300 cubic feet. The manager I had spoken with at Starlines (I am not allowed to mention her name here) had assured me that I was well within the 300 cubic feet. In fact I had gone over all the items with her and she agreed with me that the total was actually 79.94 cubic feet. I still have the emails and paperwork to prove it.
I was indeed charged an additional $336. That was not even the worst of it. During the reservation process I was asked if the delivery addresses were accessible with 18 wheelers. I said "No". I was assured that smaller trucks would be used, like the one that picked up everything. Instead at both locations big rigs were used, which posed serious issues at both locations. The San Francisco trucker refused to come to my home to make the delivery unless I paid another $350 for transferring my cargo to a smaller truck for delivery. I ended up renting a U-Haul van that ended up costing us about $125, and drove with my wife to a location in Berkeley where our things were transferred to the van after I paid the balance. I had never driven a large U-Haul delivery van before. I am 75 years old, and my wife is 65. The death of my wife's mother made all of this necessary, so we could keep some of her possessions as memories of her.
This has surely been one of the worst experiences of my life. Send me a check for $336, and I may forget the whole sordid affair.

Avoid at all costs!
This company is a scam & their costumer service is horrible
They will not work with you or your situation - they gave me an original quote to which I agreed and about 10 days before the move, they wanted to increase the price and I told them I could not afford it and wanted to cancel the move. Even though I told them I could not afford it, they attempted to charge my account multiple times for the remaining balance of the deposit (for the new price). These people will not work with you and they are just trying to get their hands on your deposit money. Avoid at all costs!

awesome experience
From the moment I contacted Starline, I knew I was in good hands. Their professionalism and attention to detail made my move seamless and stress-free. The team arrived promptly and handled my belongings with the utmost care, ensuring everything arrived at my new home safely. Their communication throughout the entire process was exceptional, keeping me informed every step of the way. I highly recommend themto anyone in need of a reliable and trustworthy moving service. They exceeded all my expectations, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome of my move.
Great service
Great service. Super affordable. They Helped us from start to finish. We barely had to lift a finger. 10/10 for sure. I already recommended my family who are planning to move out of state.
They are a scam
They are a scam. I gave them a list of furniture I would be taking. They gave me a false quote when I first called and talked to Curtis. The night before pick up I received a call from a woman telling me they could not take the SAME LIST I gave Curtis because it wouldn’t fit andI would have to pay more for more space and take less. I did pay. Then the day of pick up a moving van from another company showed up and the man told me they could not take the SAME LIST I gave the woman the night before because there was not enough space. They still didn’t take everything on the list, but after I told them this was a scam and to forget taking anything, they agreed to take 20 medium size boxes I had packed for ANOTHER $200. Again I paid. They said delivery would take between 5-21 days. Tomorrow will make 30 days and they still have not delivered the furniture and boxes. We called last week and the said it would be delivered this week. It was not. We called again this week and they said next week. I have reported them to the BBB and will report them to the Attorney General tomorrow. Next will be a letter from my attorney. Twice they said they would look into it and call us back. They NEVER called us back. Plus, Curtis told me they would pack everything for me and use their own boxes and tape. When I got the phone call the night before pick up she told me they do not do that and she doesn’t know why he told me that. So I had to rush and pack everything myself the night before and run to Walmart to buy boxes in a hurry. Do not use this company.
Starline Van lines helped me with my Long Distance moving
Starline Van lines helped me with my moving great people to work with Great communication they helped me move long distance and i will be gladly working with them in the future.
I had a great experience with Starline…
I had a great experience with Starline Vanlines. I moved from New York to Florida due to wanting to be close to my family. Their cancellation policy was completely irrelevant to me as I was moving 100% lol why do people book moves if they aren’t moving? Sounds a bit weird to me, but anyways. New York was way too crowded and expensive so moving to FL had much more benefits. Their carrier showed up on time and did an excellent job with the little future I had. They packed within the hour and left after all the paperwork was signed. Upon Florida they unloaded it into my family’s home and all items arrived in good conditions. Price was okay but can’t complain. Would recommend.

I had a terrible experience with Starline Vanlines LLC//Lancaster Vanlines LLC. Different names so be careful of that as well. They are just a company that hire movers basically a crappy booking agent. I payed a deposit to secure movers and it never happened. Once they get your money they stop communicating with you. You think by canceling they would abide but nope they find any way they can to not refund you. And honestly it seems that’s why they will stop communicating so you can’t get a refund. I strongly advise everyone to avoid using their services. Please be cautious and do thorough research before booking with any company to prevent such incidents from happening to you. Please stay away to avoid money loss and the headache.

I booked the movers with a customer service rep from Starline Movers LLC.
I called my bank and Lancaster Vanline LLC cashed the check and I never heard of the company until I called my bank.
I called Lancaster Vanline LLC and they acknowledged you guys are together. Because why is this company cashing the check. That’s fraud! I wish you guys took this much concern when it was time to move my things.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Got charged $400 more than what I was quoted, got yelled at by two customer service agents (one because I was explaining what my bed frame was like instead of answering yes or no (MANDY) another one because I was complaining about the $400 over charge), my MATTRESS WAS SOAKING WET when delivered, got charged to ship a dresser that wasn’t mine.
Do not use Starline Van Lines
I'm reluctant to leave a negative review as I know it affects real people, but it's important for those who are considering using Starline to understand what they're paying for and the risks.
We decided to hire Starline because their sales rep convinced us that they were an honest and reputable company. This could not be further from the truth.
We were all but guaranteed a move-in date, barring unforeseen circumstances like bad weather, which is understandable. When the movers didn't show up on time, I had to make several calls to get an update. When I finally got through to someone, there was no information available and no apology for the delay. Six days later, our movers arrived.
Part of the package was to set up furniture, put things together, etc. However, because we had helped the movers on the front end by disassembling things, they said they could not reassemble. I understand why they do not want to accept responsibility if I misplaced parts, etc., but this was not communicated to us and there was no sense of responsibility or accountability. Instead, the movers (who I will say were kind and polite) moved our stuff inside the house and left without any further assistance.
In short, we paid 2x the other quotes and in return, our movers were extremely late, didn't communicate, didn't apologize or take accountability for the delay and didn't provide the full service we were promised. I highly recommend avoiding Starline. Their blatant dishonesty and lack of accountability only reinforces the poor reputation the industry has as a whole.
