What a week!!
Symi makes postcards look ordinary and Strel swimming makes the most out of this beautiful island.
I can’t speak highly enough about the organization the accommodation and the swimming experience.
However the best part of this week is the amazing company of a wonderful group of people. The guides Aoife and Toby are incredibly capable, encouraging and make the experience enjoyable regardless of your swimming ability. They have found the perfect balance of fun and serious swimming I would never have been able to swim as far as I did and enjoy the week without their guidance and encouragement.
I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants a wonderful holiday experience.

Have been on 7 swim trips with strel and find them by far the best holidays I have ever done! Best value for money, brilliant guides and the most beautiful locations to choose from, whether it be slovenian lakes and rivers to the med sea. Always a great group of travellers to meet. Looking forward to my eight trip :)

We had another great trip with Strel, this time to Bozburun in Turkey. Everything about the trip was perfect - great swimming locations, beautiful warm water, and a spacious boat to cruise around the islands in. Diane and Steve were perfect guides - knowledgeable, helpful and great fun too! A great set of fellow swimmers as well - Strel always seem to attract warm, friendly folk. Can't wait for the next trip!

For anyone who likes being in the water, it is difficult to imagine a more perfect and idyllic holiday. This was my first swimming holiday, and my only regret is not doing one of these before. Warm, clear turquoise sea and beautiful setting. Our guides Aoife and Toby were fun and professional, and looked after our group very well. Our group of 14 were of varying swimming abilities, and this was managed safely and inclusively. What a great gang of people. Like most of the local boatmen, our captain Pavlov was a highly competent seaman and kept a good tight ship. We loved the tavernas that we stopped in at for lunch breaks (goats and all), and we loved the food and refreshments on the boat. Pedi Hotel where we stayed onshore was excellent. Being able to swim with turtles on two different occasions I guess was just an added bonus to an already perfect week. A huge thanks to the Strel crew and all the other swimmers for making this such a great holiday. Will I be back with Strel again? Absolutely.

This was my first experience with a swim trek. Symi is a beautiful island and the water is lovely and clear and warm. I was there with friends but the whole group was wonderful.
I didn’t like spending all day on the boat which I thought wasn’t really up to standard as it was quite small and not especially clean and there was nowhere completely out of the sun to sit.
It was fun to go to different tavernas for lunch however.
The diesel fumes on the boat and the petrol fumes from the dinghies were hard to take sometimes
Overall it was a good experience

The swimming conditions were glorious. Loved the boat trips and lunch at the Tavernas in the most amazing spots. Efa our Guide kept everything moving smoothly. Best parts were the water, the views , the tavernas with goats. Worst parts - diesel smell from an old boat, cold tea in the afternoon on reused paper cups.

Incredible Symi Swim Adventure!!!
We’ve just returned from an unforgettable Strel swim adventure around the beautiful island of Symi in Greece, brilliantly guided by Aoife and Toby. The crystal-clear, warm waters were a dream to swim in, and we were fortunate to be part of a small group of swimmers at all levels. As a not so experienced swimmer in open waters nor super with technique and injured shoulder, I was feeling taken care of very well with our swim guides checking up on how I was doing and keeping the eye on me. I had the possibility to get out to the boat at the water breaks, which was nice to know. We also had the option to go kayaking instead of swimming if we wanted to.

The trip was flawlessly organized from start to finish, and Aoife and Toby truly went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect. The lunch restaurants were wonderful. Not only did they also make excellent dinner restaurant recommendations and even arranged bookings for us, but they also encouraged us to push our limits in the water. They filmed swim strokes, did the analysis and were improving our technique, motivating us to try new things in the water, and giving us that extra push when we were tired. After each swim Aoife and Toby refreshed us coffee, tea and cookies.

A special thank you to Aoife for organizing the breathtaking sunrise hike – an unforgettable moment that made this trip even more special.

This trip has left us with beautiful memories and newfound confidence in our swimming, and we will certainly be back! 10/10 for Aoife, Toby, and Strel for an incredible experience.

Weer een hele leuke vakantie gehad met Strel in Symi. Een internationaal gezelschap van zwemmers, maar de gidsen Toby en Aoife spreken ook nog eens Nederlands. De zwemmers worden ingedeeld op tempo dus een ieder kan op zijn eigen niveau genieten van de mooie zwemroutes langs de kust. Daarnaast is het hotel en het eiland ook prachtig.

We have recently returned from the Strel swim adventure around Symi, excellently guided by Aoifa and Toby. Lovely clear warm waters. Great boat and we were especially lucky to be in a small group of 8 people, all of which were delightful and hopefully will remain life long friends. Very well organised trip once we got there, and as always the people make the trip. All the lunch stops and evening meal recommendations were lovely. All in all my wife and I will remember this holiday and the people we met with great fondness. 10/10 Thankyou Aoife, Toby and Strel.

SO MUCH FUN! Well planned, well supported and well executed. Loved the variety of swims and all the boat time in between! Would definitely sign up for another adventure.

Perfection! Strel Swimming and Borut personally made sure every aspect of our 7 day Croatia swim adventure was perfect! Now back at home I am dreaming about each swim that was planned for us and already to book my next trip!

This is my second experience with Strel Swimming Adventures, the first was with them in Montenegro 6 years ago and it had been incredible....
On this second particular trip to the Croatian Islands that we based on the Island of Krapanj was absolutely fascinating. ..
We have been lucky that there was an incredible group of people on board, as well as the assistance and support of our swimming guides: Ed and Martin, who are definitely very professional, dedicated and committed to all of us.
The turquoise waters are truly INCREDIBLE, the culture, the places, the people.... EVERYTHING...
It was an unforgettable swimming experience, having swum almost 25 km in 6 days...
I had come to swim and without knowing it, I went with a group of friends....
Everything experienced on board was very exciting and intense.

Swimming in crystal-clear turquoise waters along Croatia’s islands with the Santa Barbara crew was an epic experience, made even better by Borut and his team's expert guidance. The Greek Symi Swimming Odyssey by Strel was one of my best open water swims.
Thanks to the experienced guides, Toby and Aoifa, we had a great week of well-chosen swims in some amazing scenery.
Not only were they very well organised, they kept us together as a group and made you feel absolutely safe in the water.
They also made sure we were well looked after during the breaks. They provided us with delicious food or took us to great tavernas.
I'm delighted that I was able to improve my swimming technique so much through their analysis.
Even after the swim, they gave us valuable tips on places to visit and restaurants, so we had a wonderful time in Symi. I would highly recommend this trip and can't wait to swim with Strel again.
