Wow, what an incredible swiming trip in Slovenia. Borat and his support team were absolutely amazing - they facilitated a fantastic 3 day trip for a group of swimmers with differing abilities and made sure everyone was highly supported. Borat has rich knowledge of the area and vast experience which created an environment of trust and positivity. He selected amazing swimming locations, walks and restaurants for us to enjoy. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone had the best experience possible. I would 100% recommend this trip and I cannot wait to go on another Strel Swimming Adventure soon!

A great time in the fjords of Montenegro --who knew that Montenegro had fjords! Never thought I would swim in a submarine tunnel. The swims themselves were a good challenge. After 4 days you really feel that you had accomplished something. Thanks Borut!

This is our second trip with Strel Swimming Holidays and we are extremely happy with the level of support offered by this company. This time we went for Montenegro Fjords experience. The company found a wonderful hotel hotel right on the sea front with its own private beach at a discounted price for both swimmers and non-swimmers in our party. We had 9 swims in total in a variety of locations in ranging from 2 to 3.2 km distances. But we also had to very nice walks to a historical monuments (fortress and St.Anne's church) that offered phenomenal views over the fjords. We also visited a very pretty Our Lady of the Rocks island with its own church. Our guides (Borut Strel himself and Ivan) we extremely helpful and at all times making sure that we were safe and protected as swimmers from any possible marine traffic. Energy drinks were provided at the regular intervals and there were always two boats to look after fast and less fast swimmers. Simple but Healthy food for lunches was provided in a sufficient amount as well as tea/coffee/biscuits/fruits. Overall, this is a top notch company with a local knowledge and connections. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommended!

Everything was great including Toby and Aoifa our guides. The food was great , the turkish coffee very much appreciated. The only thing is that we didn't do the walks on the program.

It's a pleasure to meet with Borut and Martin and have them lead us on these amazing swims. They are so much fun to talk with about swimming and other things, and they make the trips a memory of a lifetime. We have been very pleased with our trips and plan to take more in the future.

Bacalar was fantastic! Swimming in the clear warm freshwater was sensational. The town is great and full of music. It offers so many varieties and food places so you definitely enjoy the evening. We had a really good time with our group and we became friends. Last but not least thanks to Borut and his team to make that trip something to remember.

Just back from Bacular. As ever, Borut and his team were awesome. Trip was amazing. We've swam with other companies, but in our opinion Strel is the best. Already planning our next trip.

Picture yourself swimming in warm, calm water with kayak support on either side and sighting off a boat that is slowly motoring ahead of you. In other words, perfect conditions in order to just focus on swimming with no worries whatsoever. That is the pure swim experience that Strel Swimming offers and delivers.
I am a repeat customer and would love to swim wherever Strel goes.

Borut and the Strel team did an excellent job making my Bacalar swimming adventure simply wonderful. Everything from our stay at Hotel Aires, to the amazing daily swimming excursions, to the magical qualities Bacalar has to offer, was unforgettable. When friends ask how my trip was, I can’t help but say how grateful I am to have gone. The local atmosphere is friendly and feels safe, especially since Carnivale was going on while we were there. Lastly, every meal was delicious and the food always fresh. I can’t wait to go on another Strel swimming adventure!

This was my third trip with Strel, having done Croatian Island Hopping and Loreto National Marine Park. The Laguna Bacalar is absolutely stunning, the town delightful, and the swimming excellent. As usual, Borut and our guides (shout out to Elise, Ramses, and Ricardo!) were fantastic -- all were attentive, helpful, and fun. The trip to Malahual to swim the marine reef followed by the Mayan ruins at Chacchoben made for a great day as well. Though I found the facilities at Cenote Azul to be not great, the cenote itself was wonderful, and I also really enjoyed our final morning swim; even though it was relatively early and we were all a little tired, it was a wonderful ending to an overall fantastic trip with great people and some new friends. One caveat: Bacalar is something of a party place with music playing until the wee hours, so you'll want to close your windows and use the AC even if you'd rather have the fresh air. But the hotel was fine, the staff was very accommodating, and the breakfasts were decent. I will also add that I preferred the catered lunches on other trips, and am looking forward to enjoying those again in Turkey!

Loved our trip to Bacalar with Strel, appreciated the variety of itinerary and locations each day. Stunning swimming with like minded people, have to confess half don't want to tell everyone how brilliant the holiday was, so it remains a secret!!!

Strel has that lovely personal family run touch still so everyone feels like a friend, genuinely we have done several of their trips and its always a week of fun, encouragement, learning, amazing new experiences and wonderful people.

The swimming at Bacalar Lake is stunning, turquoise warm water, and the day on the coast contrasted with very clear sea, fan corals, fish and pelicans!

Out of the water, Bacalar has plenty of restaurants to explore, it's easy to walk around the town - nothing is far away. A great location and not too far from Chetumal airport for easy transfers.

We had a brilliant holiday and didn't want to leave.

BACALAR Mexico- This was my second trip with Strel Swimming. Once again, Borut and his team provided an awesome swim trip with varied experiences to keep it interesting everyday!
We swam in the beautiful lagoons of Bacalar including the experience of Los Rápidos!
We also experienced cenote swimming in the large Cenote Azul. We were video’d there for our stroke analysis and we all learned a great deal from Borut’s feedback.
One day we took a trip to Mahual to swim along a reef in the sea. On the way back we visited the ruins of Cacchoben which was fantastic experience and a fun change of pace.
Strels choice of hotel was lovely and having breakfast included was a nice convenience. The hotel was centrally located within easy walking distance to the main plaza with shops, restaurants, ATM, and more. Strel Swimming handles all the details, transportation to the swims, etc, so you can just enjoy swimming and visiting another beautiful locale.
We were fortunate to have Borut himself on our trip and that is always an added bonus. I’m not sure how he does it but he manages the needs of an entire group for a week and the smile and friendly attitude never stop! My advice? Stop reading these reviews and go book a Strel Swim trip right now! :-)

Sad to finish a truly amazing week of swimming the wonderful coastline of Symi. Our guides Aoife en Toby were superb. Safety was the top priority. They truly cared and looked after all the guest in a very warm but professional way. The hotel was lovely with very helpfull staff.

I‘m in Kas nearly every october. End of october the water is still warm, tourism is getting less, not to crowded… Best scenery, best place to swim in october in the mediteran sea. I joined some strel trips, i think this is the best trip if you like nature, sun, open water, food, culture and you are looking for best weather conditions at this month… Turkish people are very friendly, the boat „Cenghizan“ is perfect for the trip. Strel team support is perfect. Travelling there is very easy - there are plenty options. I totally recommend it. This year i couldnt wait and already joined a trip in june…

I would definitely recommend the Strel Symi swimming trip if you are a swimmer with limited mobility.
Before covid I attended 3 Strel swimming trips. 18 months ago I was involved in a serious road accident that resulted in leaving me with a hip disarticulation amputation of my right leg and limited range of movement in my right shoulder, arm and hand. I came home from hospital/rehab 6 months ago. Swimming is the one activity that I can still enjoy so I contacted Borut about joining a trip. His reply was immediate and positive, he assured me that the Strel team in Symi would enable access to the trip. If disabled the Symi trip is not for the faint hearted, getting there requires transfers from airport to ferry from ferry to hotel. Pedi beach hotel does have ramp access from the outside but there are steps inside. I use a prosthetic limb to get around. I do not have a swimming leg but I wear a small fin to help maintain balance. My room was reasonably accessible using crutches although no specific facilities for disabled users. However, as soon as I met Aoife and Toby I knew I was in safe hands. Aoife is a hydro therapist and has experience with disability both personally and professionally. She made a determined effort throughout the trip to ensure I was fully included, encouraged and challenged. Toby helped in very practical ways such as getting me drinking water from the shop and physically supporting me up and down steps or on difficult terrain. There are short walks, maximum 150m, required to the jetty and the tavernas. Each day the itinerary was explained and there were always options for shorter swims, kayaking or paddle boarding. I never felt overwhelmed or pressured to do anything beyond my capabilities. To get on and off the boat Pablos always proffered a very strong arm, I knew he would not let me slip. I worked out access into and out of the water from the boat with the team but each day Pablos would devise some way to make it easier or more comfortable for me, he put down a mat so I didn’t graze myself and used a rope with a loop under my foot so I could haul myself up with my arms and push down with my good foot. Of course if you can use a ladder then access is easy! Throughout the trip my confidence grew and I felt a great sense of achievement. The night before I left home I seriously intended to cancel, I was terrified! Now at the end of a fantastic week I’m so glad I came. I’m exhilarated, I have proved to myself and others, that I can enjoy the same kind of holiday now, as I did before my accident. This is wholly thanks to the marvellous Strel team in Symi and also the other participants on the trip. Everyone of them made me feel welcome and valued and not one asked the unwelcome question, ‘what happened to you’! Great trip, thanks to everyone involved.
