Good choice of products and a great introductory box; nothing hidden on the site - membership commitment made absolutely clear.
Really good flexibility on memebership, re pause/taking a break and cancellation.
Customer service great - thank you Anna - and only reason for cancellation is because this was purchased as a gift but commitment not wanted.

Difficult Cancellation Process & Unresponsive Phone Line
My experience trying to cancel my subscription with this company was highly frustrating. I placed an order and explicitly requested a cancellation via email within hours of the payment being processed. Despite my immediate notice, customer service informed me it was "too late" to cancel.
They stated I would have to receive the box and ship it back at my own expense, even though the item was not scheduled to leave their warehouse for another 7 to 10 days. In my view, refusing a cancellation notice sent hours after ordering—weeks before dispatch—fails to respect standard UK statutory consumer rights regarding online distance selling.
I also found that online cancellation options and "skip boxes" were not available in my account dashboard (I later found these hidden within several menus). Instead, I was directed to phone a helpline that proved difficult to reach. In my view, this process also did not respect standard UK consumer rights regarding straightforward cancellations.
For anyone facing similar difficulties, here is the factual process I followed to manage my account and payments:
Email notification: I sent a formal written cancellation notice directly to their customer service email address to establish a clear paper trail.
Bank intervention: I contacted my bank to explicitly cancel the Continuous Payment Authority (CPA) associated with this company to prevent further automated charges.
Chargeback dispute: Because funds were debited after my request, I submitted my cancellation email to my bank to initiate a formal Chargeback dispute.
Reporting: I have logged the details of this cancellation experience with Trading Standards via Citizens Advice, as I believe the company's cancellation policy fails to adhere to statutory consumer rights.
I recommend keeping strict records of all communication dates when trying to end a subscription here to ensure your consumer rights are protected.

For the total amount paid, I feel you get very little. Essentially 2 small 50ml gin bottles.

I have been buying my gin/rum boxes for over 5 years from what was the Craft Gin Club, now The Curious drinker. I love the fact that you get bespoke gins that can't be bought anywhere else & the surprises in your monthly box. A monthy treat, what mote can you ask for. In the main there have been many issues, maybe a few mix ups or similar which are always dealt with efficiently & in a friendly manor. I have put my account on hold at present which was suppotted by one of the gang at TCD. No issues if you want to skip a month or two. I would highly recommend this company who offer something different & surprising. Enjoy your treats😀❤️
Terrible customer experience
Terrible customer experience. I signed up and then thought I'd cancelled online but because their website didn't work properly, it didn't display the message telling me I had to call up to cancel (despite clicking multiple cancel buttons on two or three pages. I then realised it hasn't worked so I emailed them to explain. They told me I had to call. I called and they cancelled, but wouldn't cancel the one they had already charged me for (despite the fact it hadn't been shipped yet). After numerous emails, they eventually confirmed that even though I could return the item, I'd have to pay the postage. Do not trust this company, they employ terrible practices on the website to make it impossible to cancel and the customer service is terrible
Edit - the reply to this review hasn't addressed the fact that their website doesn't work or the fact I have to pay to return the item even though it's not my fault the cancellation didn't go through. This is typical of their copy and paste replies - I don't think they even read emails/reviews tbh

Just gets better and better
I've been a membe for a while now, and always love my gin boxes, but June's new Curious Drinker one has been the best yet. Such a gorgeous gin (and bottle) and I can't get enough of the cocktail - so refreshing in the hot weather. All the snacks are delicious and go really well with the drinks. Loving the new magazine as well. I really can't wait to see what's coming next month!!

Better customer service - go elsewhere
Why do you have to call to cancel a membership, really awful sales policy that isn't needed. Legally you can give notice in writing/email but the company won't do that so you have to waste your time sitting in line on the phone to cancel.
Not good customer service and pleased i've left now as there are better gin customer experiences out there.

Don’t be lured in by the cheap rum!
I signed up for the rum subscription, tempted by the cheap price of the rum. I can’t complain about the product, all really good but cancelling or trying to explain and get understood was hard. I spoke to a man named Desmond to cancel and he was brilliant, but all email communication has been frustrating. To skip a box, you have to skip by 6pm on the 22nd. I went into my account numerous times to check I had skipped the box. It said I had. But I was worried, so kept checking. Then on the 23rd, the money went out. Box ordered. I tried to explain this but both times I was just told why I had to cancel by 6pm on the 22nd! All I wanted was the box cancelled and an acknowledgment that the mobile site was iffy. Instead, I’ll need to pack it up and send it back, which I really haven’t got the time or means to do! Really frustrating.

Needed cancel my membership.
Needed cancel my membership as I was hoping for natural rums not the spiced versions. Desmond was quick to understand and cancelled the subscription/membership.
A for the product I must say the Presentation and packaging was probably some of the best I've seen.
Terrible customer service
Having been a customer of craft gin for a while, I have typically had a good experience. However, since the rebranding I had a terrible experience. I attempted to cancel my membership online many times but I kept getting error messages. I emailed customer service as I wanted to ensure that I did not get charged for any future deliveries, and I was ignored. They said that I had missed the deadline (the day their website wasn't working) and they could not provide a refund (despite the technical issue being on their end). I must add that I had to chase for a reply, the first reply I got they totally ignored what I asked, it was clearly a generic email. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed. I have since cancelled my membership and would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a pleasant and easy experience or friendly customer service. Very disappointing.

Thank you Anna but the company needs to make it easier than hanging on a phone to be picked up for 4 mins 10 seconds,suggest you activate the cancel subscription save you and your customers faffing around.
