We had a wonderful 2 week honeymoon in Mauritius organised by Earth Trip who we were put in touch with via Responsible Travel - original plan had been to go to Sri Lanka and when travel advice changed meaning we had to think again, Aleem was incredibly helpful in suggesting alternatives and putting together an itinerary for Mauritius at short notice. All of the places that we stayed on the island were very special - from incredible food at SALT of Palmar, to glamping and kayaking, swimming with sea turtles and sharing in the most amazing views from the top of Chamarel, we had an unforgettable trip. We were linked up with the local tour operator in Mauritius and everything was very smooth - we had a very friendly and helpful driver (Zaid), and all in all, a fantastic time.

My family and I spent 16 days exploring beautiful Sri Lanka with The Earth Trip. Aleem took on-board all of our interests and budget to tailor a wonderfully varied itinerary with a mix of lovely accommodation which was often hidden away from the touristy 'hub'. The Earth Trip's eco approach made it stand out from other options, along with good value for money and clear consideration for local communities.
After a delayed flight we were greeted by our friendly and attentive guide Rathna and we were soon revitalized by the Sri Lankan hospitality and incredible food! From then on in we experienced an abundance of culture, wildlife, trekking and beach days to round off a very fulfilling trip.

Of course there are always going to be obstacles to overcome, but Aleem's team swiftly rectified an accommodation issue for us and Rathna ensured we reached destinations/activities in time. When faced with an impossibly full train carriage, Rathna even managed to get us into the driver's cabin instead...Wow!
We would love to visit Sri Lanka again in the future. The people were ever so welcoming and there is still so much to explore on the small but diverse island.
For anyone remotely interested in visiting the country, do it! And use The Earth Trip for a special experience!

We travelled with the Earth Trip to Sri Lanka in April. The whole itinerary was amazing from start to finish. We saw the most amazing things from elephants, waterfalls, spice gardens, temples, Unesco sites, jungles to the most incredible beaches. The tour was brilliant and Aleem did a great job to book this for us. Our driver and guide Danesh was incredible, he has amazing knowledge of the country and was so lovely and tentative the whole trip. We would really recommend Danesh as he made the trip even better. There were a couple of examples where there were problems with late room payments which was the only thing that tainted the experience. It was resolved in the end, but for us not a great experience. However, the food and people of Sri Lanka are amazing, we met the nicest people and so we are so very sad about the recent attacks. I would still wholly recommend the country and The Earth trip and Danesh to anyone thinking about visiting Sri Lanka.

The Earth Trip were one of three companies we contacted with regard to our holiday in Sri Lanka. We choose to travel with Earth Trip because we found Aleem most helpful and the great value he offered. Our driver Rathna was very pleasant and knowledgeable about his country, he helped to make our holiday a success.
All the hotels were carefully chosen varied and stylish, seaside and country side all were of a good standard and very friendly.

We returned home a little over a week, with such fond memories to treasure from our time travelling around Sri Lanka. We only had 7 nights but managed to see so much, staying in 6 different locations. Aleem took our enquiry and worked on producing a itinerary until to matched our requirements. All the hotel selected most which were eco focused were of a extremely high standard and the trip ran smoothly. Thanks mention to the staff at Ibis Wilpattu for making my 50th Birthday such a special one. The other hotel that we loved were Jetwing Kadurunketha and 98 Acres both simply fantastic for location and service.

Aleem organised the whole trip including flights and excursions and our personal driver, Saman.
Samana was the finishing touch to a fab holiday, he was polite, funny and informative. Always on time even when we were a little late! and we felt completely safe whilst travelling on the busy Sri Lankan roads..

We have just returned from a 3 week holiday in Sr iLanka organised by Aleem Raheen of the earth trip.we met him at the holiday fair at the RDS in Dublin and he said that he would make up an itinerary for us.
The holiday included the cultural triangle, safaris, tea plantations, whale watching and a spectacular drive up to Liptons Seat and then a few days relaxing at a beach hotel.
All of the hotels that Aleem had arranged for us were excellent and the food was great,special mention for the 98 acres resort which was amazing.
Rathna our driver did a tremendous job from picking us up at the airport till he dropped us off 3 weeks later, he was very friendly and accomodating throughout and kept us safe in .a sea of mad tuk tuk drivers.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Aleem and The Earth Trip to anyone thinking of holidaying in Sri Lanka it is a wonderful country with very friendly people.

Have recently returned from a wonderful 16 day trip to Sri Lanka and cannot thank Aleem enough for putting together a brilliant itinerary for us, recommending excellent accommodation throughout and booking all our excursions, visits to temples, safari, whale watching, massages, train rides etc. Our driver CHANAKA was superb - terrific driver who navigated us safely over the hundreds of miles we covered, always punctual, very informative and effortlessly arranging everything for us, from lunches, snacks from roadside stalls, best places for shopping, best atms to get our currency at good rates, collecting our tickets and always greeting us with a smile. We felt like VIPs throughout the whole trip of this amazingly beautiful country. People so friendly, food so tasty and the scenery spectacular. Huge thanks to Aleem for getting everything spot on for us at a very competitive cost too. Highly recommend the Earth Trip.

We just completed a three country tour with Earth Trip; Madagascar, where we spent most of our time, as well as brief stopovers in Mauritius and the Seychelles. The later two are off the radar destinations for most US tourists so we weren't sure exactly what to expect. Aleem helped us with a very meticulously planned itinerary so that we could see as much of the country in 12 days as was possible. This meant a lot of early starts and long drives between the national parks, since our main focus was seeing lemurs and chameleons, but it was worth it. What was a surprise to me was the variety of dramatic landscapes in Madagascar. We took many more landscape pictures of rock formations with magic light in the evening than we expected. Tsarnovo Valley camp had spectacular views. Accommodations were good overall with Satrana lodge being world class in my book. Meals at most of the hotels were excellent. Again Satrana would win the best meal prize as well. There isn't a lot of variety on the local menu, mainly Zebu beef and a potato dish but they are tasty and we didnt have any heath issues.

Our hotel in Mauritius , Tamarina Boutique, was excellent as was the tour of the island the following day. Well worth the stopover. In Seychelles we stayed at Kempenski Resort, on the coast. Spectacular. Was really hard to leave. Would go back any time. All in all this was an excellent trip and I have no reservations about recommending Aleem , Earth Trip and the local Madagacar operator..

We had a fabulous trip to Sri Lanka. Aleem packaged up a brilliant bespoke tour for us. He was accommodating with all our requests and answered all our questions, nothing was too much trouble. Our driver Rathna was great too, organising everything for us and providing that friendly reliable service you're looking for when going abroad. We've just come back from Sri Lanka and the Maldives for our honeymoon.
Re Sri Lanka, we have been accompanied by an amazing driver (Danesh) across the whole country in 9 days enjoying any single day! it can be a bit tiring because you have to pack every 2 days your things and travel again towards a new destination but it is absolutely worth!
The Maldives was simply a dream, unfortunately, the weather was not excellent because of the period, however, the accommodation was of an upper-class level and we could enjoy the atoll anyway, by making the excursions (dolphin watching and snorkelling with turtles), having an amazing and romantic dinner and staying on the beach even when little raining thanking the massive umbrella provided we could never get wet!!!

We have just returned from a 3-week tour of Madagascar. The Earth Trip and their colleagues in Madagascar gave us an experience that would not be easy to surpass. Everything went very smoothly from the time we left UK until, with sorrow in our hearts, we had to return.

We were put in touch with Earth Trip by Responsible Travel, as we wanted to make sure much of what we spent on our holiday went to those in the country where we were going.

Aleem at Earth Trip was very patient with us as we changed our plans, eventually coming up with an itinerary that suited us, complete with car and driver to take us around the various parts of Sri Lanka. In the event, the driver, Mangala, was excellent, making minor tweaks to the trip as we went along to ensure an even better experience. We probably tried to do too much in the time available, but there is so much to do and see in Sri Lanka and there is nothing we would take off the list with hindsight.

We ended up booking our trip to Sri Lanka through Earth Trip as it was recommended by Responsible Travel when we were trying to find a travel agent with high environmental and ethical standards.
Communication on planning and preparation for the trip ran very smoothly and every detail was taken care of.
The last hotel was a slight miss but not due to Earth Trips fault and our driver was ab absolute joy to travel with. Would highly recommend.

We chose Earth travel as recommended by Responsible travel web page as we wanted a company with some eco ethos considering the precious biodiversity Madagascar still possesses. Initially we felt reluctant having our own car and driver for 3 weeks but retrospectively understand why this is the case as the roads and facilities in Madagascar cannot cope with big group sizes/buses.
Aleem suggested us to follow the 'tourist route' south with visits to the most accessible national parks where we were guided by some excellent guides. Whilst most tourists seem to hone in on wanting to see lemurs, we wanted to learn more about the biodiversity, forestry, deforestation etc. This at times was more difficult to elicit from the park guides who mostly concentrate on finding lemurs for us to view.

Nanty was our most excellent guide and driver for the whole time and not only manoeuvred the roads, potholes and all other handicaps most skilfully but provided us with much insight into life in Madagascar. His unending humour, patience, respect and professionalism really impressed and made travelling so much easier and enjoyable
.
All accommodation was excellent, from eco lodges directly overlooking the sea to hotels in the rainforest. Having half board made it all so much easier, all the meals offered were really tasty and very well presented.

Aleem included all the entry/guide fees which helped tremendously as ATMs are far and few still.
We loved the country and its people and felt so privileged to be able to visit. Thank you Aleem and GoTravel in Madagascar for having made it a very special, memorable holiday.

We have just enjoyed our best holiday ever, 3 weeks in Sri Lanka organised by The Earth Trip. We are used to organising our own holidays and travelling independently but after meeting Aleem at a travel show we put our trust in him and he created a superb itinerary for us, a mix of culture,beaches and wildlife.We are a family of 4, with 2 older teenage girls - they were interested and engaged from start to finish.
The hotels we stayed in were all of the highest quality and I know that The Earth Trip reviews these annually.
Having a driver and guide for the three weeks was a revelation, I have never relaxed quite so quickly and like all the Sri Lankans we met they were warm, friendly and fun company.

We have just come back from an amazing 2 week trip to Sri Lanka. We are 2 families of 5 with children aged 6 to 14. Every detail was arranged to perfection and we joked that the only thing we had to do every day was get ourselves dressed as everything else was done for us! We went on a 2 week tour with earth trip around Sri Lanka going from Colombo through Galle, ella, kandy, sigiriya and Trincomalee.. it was one of the best holidays I have had in a long time.. the organisation from the hotel bookings (which were fantastic) to transport was well planned and there were no issues.. which made the journey even more enjoyable and stress free. Also our guide Ishankar and Sanjeewa were awesome, they were friendly, informative and overall a cool bunch.. The sites which were planned out on the trip pretty much included all the things I wanted to do in Sri Lanka... Also they were very accomodating when we requested some changes to the itenary.. i have already recommended earth trip to my friends who are keen to go to Sri lanka.

We had a brilliant wildlife tour of Sri Lanka staying at many different resorts expertly arranged by Earth Trip. Everything went to plan perfectly even though our itinerary was very complicated. Our guide, Lasith and driver went out of their way to make our holiday special and we all became great friends during the course of our holiday. We learnt a great deal about Sri Lankan wildlife as well as the culture, history and the people living here. I highly recommend this company and thank Aleem for organising such a wonderful holiday.

We met Izabela and Aleem at their stand at the Travel Destinations Show at Olympia in February. Having researched Sri Lanka and looked at some of the itineraries offered by the ‘big’ tour operators, we liked the Earth Trip’s approach and the fact that they knew Sri Lanka so well.

After the show I e-mailed them with a rough idea of what we wanted to see and Aleem came back promptly with a suggested itinerary which, given the weather, actually suggested an ‘anti-clockwise’ circuit of the main attractions, rather than the more common clockwise circuit.

A few days before departure, Aleem e-mailed a comprehensive travel pack including details of our driver.

On arrival in Colombo we were enthusiastically met by our driver, the lovely Mangala and set off on our two week road trip. Mangala was excellent company with a great friendly personality and knows the country (and the roads) inside out. He is also a very good driver & I would thoroughly recommend him. We covered around 2,000 km in the 2 weeks & we were lucky to have a mini-bus type vehicle (Toyota Hiace) which offered excellent visibility.

We started at Galle, then around the south coast and up to Ella, train to Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Dambulla, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, the beach at Pasikudha and finally Anuradhapura, Wilpattu, Negombo and back to the airport.

The highlights for us were Ella (98 Acres hotel is wonderful), the tea plantations, Sigiriya and Anuradhapura although we enjoyed everything really.

All of the hotels recommended by Aleem were very good and the ‘half board’ arrangement worked well, with some hotels offering A la Carte, but most opting for a buffet.

The whole itinerary worked like clockwork so I can definitely recommend the Earth Trip to anyone considering a visit to this fascinating country 😊
