Amazing customer service after royal mail messed up my order. They were fast to respond and help fix the issue, 10/10 company :)

All seemed really positive initially so I decided to order a package for a friend's birthday. I waited for the package.. but it didn't arrive. I emailed and got a fair response saying it would be sent on a certain date when the next batch was sent to them with next day delivery... I waited... But sadly nothing... My friends birthday passed.. I requested a full refund.

I've since received an apology for the difficulties with a hope to resolve, which was reassuring. Maybe I'll try again in the future...

Great product that is really fascinating to see grow before your eyes. Even my veg phobic child wanted to then try some! Makes a really lovely, unusual present and are very meaty, nice mushrooms to eat one harvest comes.

Great customer service, ironed out a little gremlin when ordering swiftly and were very friendly. Would really recommend!

I misread the instructions and threw away my voucher for my grow kit.

Alice, from Urban Grow It customer service, was extremely helpful in helping me get the mushroom spawn delivered to my house with fast delivery.

The business appears to be small, but has excellent customer service and I'm not sure whether Alice owns part of the company or is an employee, but the managers of the company should reward Alice for her succient and quick email responses to my errors.

I am likely to also purchase some other spawn from the company in future.

The product itself, the golden oyster grow kit, was packaged beautifully and had a very preimum feel to it. I'm sure it would be a great gift - I just bought it for myself in this instance.

I’ve bought a fair few different ‘grow at home’ kits from different retailers and this company is by far the best I’ve used. I feel like I’m watching my mushrooms grow by the minute. It’s super exciting and rewarding. The only company I’d really recommend purchasing these kits from!

When ordering a fruiting block of Maitake, I have specifically asked to have one without fruiting formations on top because I wanted to see for myself how it evolves. I was send exactly the opposite.

After having a discussion with one of the teammates from Urban Farm-it, I can say that it was an honest mistake and they have done everything to make sure the fruiting block arrives undamaged, but it can happen during shipping.
I will be ordering from Urban Farm-it again and thank you for sorting out the problem!!

Had an issue with royal mail delivery. With not much time left before I needed my order to teach a lesson, Alice stepped in and sent an expedited new order to save the day! Appreciate the extra mile!

I was bought the mushroom kit for my 70th birthday. We delayed for several months but we eventually were contacted by Alice who despatched the spore we required.
I had no confidence that this would work but we did exactly as the instructions told us.
We had no development until over 20 days: then after about 25 days we had our first flush of mini mushrooms that grew to be very large over the next few days.
Thanks due to Alice who was very efficient.

A well priced mushroom growing kit with everything you need. Unlike some other kits that come pre-made, this one lets you do almost everything yourself.

The contents were well presented and easy to use. As a novice I had no issues following the instructions.

At one point I was concerned that I had contaminated the kit, and Alice gave some quick and excellent advice via email to help.

End result was a breakfast of tasty oyster mushrooms and hopefully several more to come!

What a fantastic little business. Idea is great, price is good, such a great product and amazing customer service. I contacted them as a novice in mushrooms home growing and they answer my questions really quickly. Also delivery was on point. Can’t wait for my own mushrooms!

I was bought a kit for Christmas and started it off with anticipation. All went well, but the spawn then failed to fruit when brought into the light.
I contacted customer service and Alice was fantastic in her willingness to provide advice and help. I ended up with a new kit being dispatched. This has now fruited successfully for the first time (delicious!).
I have no hesitation in recommending Urban Farm for the quality of their product and their customer support.

A lovely company to deal with, I love speaking to real people with a sense of humour and I can’t wait to start growing my lions mane shrooms . Me being the plonker that I am didn’t realise I had to scratch the panel to get the code to purchase my mushrooms . Alice kindly explained it to me and popped the order in for me too , plus we had a bit of chuckle in the process . Thank you

Pink Oyster Mushrooms
I was delighted when I received this as a gift as I am a keen mycophile and this was just up my street.
However, I think that it was the wrong type of mushrooms to attempt growing in Central Scotland but it was great fun trying to grow them.
During incubation temperature needs to be 20-23 degrees and instructions mention that airing cupboards or near other heat sources aren't suitable.
I had mine in a cupboard as it was the warmest place in the house. 19C
When nothing seemed to be happening I upped temperature by putting on the light which has a traditional light bulb. This pushed the temperature up to 22C. There was no way that I could put them out of the cupboard as temperature for fruiting is 22-28C!
Doing this I managed to get three very small flushes (enough to put in an omelette each time).
These mushrooms are ideal for tropical countries but not really suitable to be grown in the northern parts of the UK due to the low temperatures.
I would try and grow mushrooms again but probably best to stick to spawn that grows in the Northern Hemisphere i.e. Blue oysters (that I have seen in Scotland in October/November).
All in all I think Urban Farm It are doing a great job and would buy from them again, and would recommend them to others, as their Customer Service is fantastic and they could not have been more helpful with my questions.

Was able to phone and discuss my purchase as a beginner grower. Had my 1st mushrooms today - thats dinner sorted.

The first box was a birthday present and we had one amazing crop and then nothing. I e- mailed for help and advice. Alice replied with helpful hints and offered to replace so I could have another try. I would recommend them very highly
