A week after we booked and paid the…

A week after we booked and paid the deposit for Wonders of Canada & Rocky Mountaineer we got a call from Aldo (who we had booked with) saying that the Silver Leaf we had chosen was filled, so if we wanted to do the trip we had to choose the Gold leaf... We called and talked to a new service agent (Erwin) who turned out to be the "manager" After a few days we called back connected with Erwin and he offered us some relief. We appreciated greatly his efforts. However, we still feel the experience on the front end was very unsatisfactory. We were told there were 3 silver leaf slots left on the initial call and then a week later told there was none. I want to share this because there is something wrong in your system or we were not informed of the possibility of a problem.

I didn't receive the email with…

I didn't receive the email with instructions about the trip. When I called the rep said she'd send it again. I still didn't get it, so i called again and that rep said it was rejected 4 times and she'd send it to IT to figure out the problem. I said why didn't someone call and tell me and she rudely said I'm telling you now. I'd if it was rejected 4 times I should have been called right away.

We are still in process of booking

We are still in process of booking, but so far the experience has been great. Efi, the agent, listened to our requests, answered our questions and provided the price quote we requested within a couple hours of our call.

The tour looks very nice

The tour looks very nice and the cost reasonable. However, when I tried to pay for the tour I had problems with the payment system. I contacted customer service, but even he had problems. With help i was finally able to make my payment.

HORRIFIED -STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

I reserved a tour by phone with a live agent my very first experience on vacations by rail. Our trip was to celebrate my husband's 75th birthday. I carefully researched the tour, the company and the hotels being offered. It was a long arduous process. After paying thousands of dollars for this adventure for two retired seniors, I got an email that same night saying I should contact the agent. I assumed it was to confirm the hotels advertised were indeed available as the agent specified, tat he would do before I reserved any further travel arrangements. I had already purchased a travel protection plan as the agent highly recommended which cost several hundred more dollars. When I called the agent early the very next morning, he was not in the office but a different agent said our tour was "unavailable" and offered a tour the week after our orginal dates. I was shocked. I have never experienced that in all my years reserving travel but we looked at our calendar and agreed to take the 2nd tour dates offered but stipulating we wanted assurance they would be confirming the hotels that were advertised would be available. The 2nd agent assured me we would get what we had paid over FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR the day before. Several hours that same day we got a call from agent number one that the second tour dates were also NOT AVAILABLE AND COULD WE TAKE THE THIRD DATES!
I was truly shocked.
I told agent number one I would not change dates again and wanted the full refund. He was very unprofessional saying this "happened all the time" and I would have to wait several weeks to get a full refund and I should cancel the travel protection plan myself as well. He said the invoice cancellation email would also take several days even though the original travel invoice had been sent minutes after our initial phone call reserving the tour. The $3,765 invoice detailing the costs was sent minutes after that call. I was truly shocked.
That day I sent an email to agent number one restating these events and requesting the invoice cancellation email be sent so I could be reassured I would get my money refunded. He was very rude and brushed me off the call with a dismissive tone.
I received a rude response from agent number one via email and I responded again that I was still waiting for my invoice cancellation email and once again he responded that I had missed two calls from him, that he was in the office to talk to me and I would get the cancellation and refund "asap".
I have NEVER BEEN TREATED SO RUDELY AND GOTTEN SUCH LITTLE HELP FROM ANYONE IN THE TRAVEL INDUSTRY IN MY MANY YEARS OF MAKING TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS, EVER.
I called my bank to report the charges and they are now in dispute.
THIS MAN HAS NO BUSINESS DOING THIS KIND OF WORK, ESPECIALLY NOT WITH TRAVELERS WHO ARE RETIRED AND PAYING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF HARD EARNED MONEY. I WAS A PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHER IN A LARGE CITY AND I DESERVE BETTER.

THIS EXPERIENCE WILL BE REPORTED ON ALL THE SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLETS TO WARN TRAVELERS TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
