We’ve booked with Great Rail Journeys a number of times over the years and have always found them helpful and efficient. The various holidays we’ve undertaken with them have been most enjoyable, well organised and up to expectations.

Overall the booking process was fine. The only reason I have withheld a star is because, when I looked at the website the next day, I noticed the price of our holiday had gone down. This was very annoying and off-putting. It gave me a negative impression of the company. However, I was satisfied by the response when I phoned to complain about this issue. The offer of part discount/part voucher went some way to appease my annoyance!

Lady I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and explained everything clearly. She also made me aware that if I needed any more help with arranging train to London or needed a hotel just to ring again. Very pleased with service including picking up a case to take to boat and delivering it back . Also got a good upgrade for very little more. Haven't used this company before but if holiday is as good as I think it will be , will definitely consider using them again.

Just talking to somebody who was friendly, helpful and very efficient. I don't like booking online because if there is any queries you can't sort them out. Talking to an actual person is so much better and quicker. Adele was brilliant.

Excellent information provided on website so easy to make a decision and book

Not much to comment on the booking experience, it was straightforward. The deposit is high compared to Saga and the final payment is due 90 days prior to departure whereas normally it would be 6 weeks or approx 42 days. The proof of the pudding will be the actual holiday.

Easy to book and good conversation about mobility and health issues

In my excitement at booking the Dales Holiday, i did not notice that travel to Carlisle was not included.
It becomes clear after booking.
This is not a complaint just a suggestion that you make it more obvious.

Prompt and helpful response to email regarding leaving the tour in Paris on the return journey. We tried to book using the website but the payment didn't complete for some reason. One quick call to customer service and everything was sorted quite quickly.

We have just returned from Highlights of the Glacier Express tour. It was absolutely magical, I booked online and downloaded the GRJ App. The Glacier Express has been on my bucket list for some time, but GRJ included The Bernina Express time in Strasbourg, Chur and Zermatt, a fabulous guided tour with so many interesting facts on the history of the Matterhorn and the climbers who survived and those who didn't. Our guide helped us with additional trips on the Gornergrat Bahn to the Matterhorn and The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise Cable Car ride, GRJ also provided each tour guest with a half price Swiss card which provided us with free entry to museums, half price rail and cable car rides - It was a fabulous week and an experience we will remember for ever!
