I took out this warranty cover when I first got my car it's not worth the paper it is written on, I was sold a car that was heavily under powered and not boosting, after having the car checked over with a diagnostic machine it had swirl flap faults and glow plugs, no garage was willing to get involved due to this warranty company so I took it to bmw for a full diagnostic to be done, I informed the company and they told me to remove my car from the main agent, I refused, they took it upon themselves to take my car from bmw to an independent garage, they didnt even hand the keys into the right place, the guy at the independent garage didn't even know my car was there as it was parked on the main street and keys handed into neighbouring unit for almost a week before the said garage knew it was there. Won't supply a courtesy car, kept telling me it will not be genuine bmw parts as it's took expensive, I didn't buy a premium car for it to be repaired by cheap parts. Ridiculous company has caused so much stress and inconvenience, this warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on.

Replying to your message I did not give you consent to remove my car also it's got nothing to do with the finance company this is down to the car dealer for selling a faulty car, you as the warranty company are liable for repairs on the car, it has now been off the road for 2 months.. It's also not my fault the car needed repaired or how much it cost, this is down to the car dealer, I should still have been supplied with a courtesy car for the inconvenience and stress you have caused, plus the garage you took it too, the mechanic is a genuine nice person he's got no reason to lie about not knowing the car was there.. shocking!!

Dear Sara,

As this is a public forum we feel we must respond to this review truthfully.

Your vehicle was removed from BMW as your finance company didn't want to pay anything on top of the warrantie's liability I am afraid and therefore your car was collect and delivered to an independent garage where they asked for the keys to be left next door as they were out on a breakdown at the time.

I can see we have paid the garage on the 9th for the work necessary to repair your vehicle and regretfully you are not entitled to a courtesy car as we have paid more than double your claim limit to repair your car.

I can see we have tried to explain this to you on several occasions but due to your manner, you will not let the handler explain this to you.

Like I said before I had cover my car was not drivable as the whole rear air suspension had bust was on the tyres! So tell me how do I drive to the mot centre! Absolute con!

Not worth the paper its written on i definitely rate these to 0 wont renew our cover with these crooks just as bad as direct car credit only out for ur money yesterday AA ATTEND said Turbo has gone in the vechile anways we have gold warranty there saying it isnt covered definitely do not recommend these at all and I can see they have more bad reivews then good

Van had to go into the garage for a fault on my braking system. The garage contacted A1 approved. Later in the day I received a call stating A1 would be covering the cost

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. Purchased a car at car time bury. My warranty I signed for included break down cover with platinum cover. I needed break down cover today and they told me I'm not on the system and i will have to pay for them to come out even though I signed the contract at the dealership and paying for the warranty monthly. Avoid these scamming artists with misleading/fraudulent contracts!! Cancel it immediately!!!

Called a1 approved they paid for the diagnostic and approved repair in the same day. Brilliant company

Warranty is a complete waste of money

Bought a car through Hippo 11/24. 6 months later and 6000 miles later the gearbox is failing. Cost to repair £1400. Apparently this is categorised as general wear and tear. I thought gearboxes were supposed to last 120000 miles. The £50 per month for 10 months to cover me for something major going wrong was pointless. My advice is prepare for the worst if you can, put £50 per month in a savings account. Then deal with it yourself should something go wrong, because that is what you will end up doing anyway.

The warranty on the vehicle is for a sudden and unforeseen mechanical or electrical failure, by your own words the part hasn't failed but could fail in the future.
The warranty doesn't cover preventative works unfortunately or items that are deteriorating over time.

unfortunately this is correct, as displayed on the selling dealers website you purchased their own warranty and NOT an A1 Approved warranty. A1 Approved did however agree to handle the phone calls and emails for them.
The booklet given to you by the dealer and A1 Approved also states that A1 Approved are only the administrators.

Where is the minus star?

If there was a minus, or a “danger” star, I would use that.

This company is nothing but a scam, cost me £400 per year and refused to pay for ANY repairs. Made up an excuse for reasons not to pay out, I’ve had to go through my lawyers to take them to court. Please avoid at ALL costs!

I wasn't sure about taking out an extended warranty but I was glad when I did.

My vehicle was delivered with an intermittent fault, and I didn't fully recognise it for around 4 months, it was a faulty fly wheel and clutch.

Although it could be argued that A1 had no liability in this case, they stepped in to support me nonetheless.

A1 liaised with the leasing company on my behalf and negotiated with them to split the costs of the repair. I was astonished by how forthcoming they were.

I was extremely nervous about the situation but A1 sorted it and the vehicle was repaired with no inconvenience to me.

Unbelievably, my luck fell short again when another fault occurred several months later and an engine manmanagement light came on.

As with before, I reported the problem to A1 and they immediately took ownership. The fault was again fixed with no cost or inconvenience to me.

If I've learned anything, it's that this company can be relied upon and I know now that trusting them with my vehicle warranty was the right thing to do. I dread to imagine what these issues would have cost me if not.

I'm grateful to A1 for being reputable, professional, and trustworthy. I've never had any trouble getting through to them and they're always quick to help. I fully recommend.

Trusted, professional and knowledgeable 🤙

First time having a car remapped. I untrusted Andy and Blair with my Audi Q3 2.0 tdi sline.
My car ran at 138 bhp 377nm. After the map it came back with 184 bhp and 442nm. Quick chat with And before leaving and explained what to expect.
Car runs faultlessly, no flat spots through the whole range.
Both Andy and Blair are professional, knowledgeable and courteous.
Top job and worthy of the 5 stars.
Would most definitely recommend.

Great customer service.

Had a problem with my new car after only a few weeks. Karl at A1 was very helpful and dealt with my claim very promptly whilst I was in the garage getting my car fixed.

Absolute sham...

Absolute sham... Sold as a high end, prestige car, warranty company, yet will only cover labour costs up to £50 pound per hour and won't cover diagnostics. If you value your car at all I would avoid at all costs.

We do offer customers to upgrade to £150 per hour but this is payable extra when taking a cover out with us directly.

Do not recommend

I had a car 2 days before a fault came up. I done all that A1 asked, took to garage, got diagnostic. Garage spoke with them over the phone as they requested. Got estimate as requested. A1 then 3 weeks later after me calling every couple of days to chase authorisation decided they now wanted a photo evidence (of electrical fault). I have had nothing but stress and trouble, and still not sorted. Do not recommend. Stay clear!

Since the response a video of the EGR valve has been provided to A1 and still not helpful !!! Asking for proof it isn't other things, when clearly a garage know what they are doing. Beyond stressful, please please, do not think about using these people if you want a stress free experience

We feel that you are frustrated at the wrong company, we have approved the EGR cooler filter and told the garage if it needs the EGR also then please just send us a video showing this is needed so we can add it to the quote.
You have sent us a video showing the gearbox issue and this was approved within the hour along with the wheel bearing.
We understand you want this done quickly but we can only act as fast as your garage....
