I used the legal helpline for guidance regarding a complex tribunal and property dispute. The advisors I spoke with over two separate calls were professional, clear, and helped me understand the correct process to initiate my legal expenses claim. The phone line was responsive and provided the clarity I needed at an early stage.

James was genuinely one of the most helpful people involved throughout my legal expenses claim.

The matter itself became very frustrating and prolonged, but James was always clear, responsive and willing to help. He regularly chased the solicitors acting on my behalf, explained what was happening with funding, and gave me much better visibility of the position when communication elsewhere was poor.

What I appreciated most was that he actually took the time to listen and properly understand what was happening rather than just giving generic responses. Whenever I contacted him, I felt that he genuinely tried to move things forward and get answers for me.

My underlying dispute has now been resolved successfully, and although I ultimately had to take matters forward myself, I wanted to make clear that my experience with James personally was very positive.

Took far too long to get through to someone as was sent in circles at the insurance company and Arc. When I finally did, I was given an appointment at 10-11am the following day for someone to call me and waited at home for the call. I did receive a call but at 12:57pm. No apology for the wait and felt that the call was anything but helpful as it was started with a statement about only taking forward cases if there was a 51% chance of winning. This and the following conversation which seemed to be saying everything is hard to deal with was far from being 'reassuring, helpful and practical by providing you with the legal options and services available to you in relation to your query.' I was then told to submit a claim and it would be assessed to determine if it would be dealt with. I was also told I would be sent something attached to an email. The email arrived with nothing attached meaning another contact will have to be made. I hope the third contact is better than the first two. I'm not holding my breath.

I believed it is a Lega Advise, however I did not have much, the person, with all due respect was young, and clearly just pushed me towards connecting to a family lawyer, and did not have had many of the questions I have done, which in that regard I received more clarifications via online and AI, than the short time call I had with her. It felt she was all the time pushing me to end the call as she did not know anything, or not much.
I would expect a bit more of something that is called "Legal Advice", paid for, as I haven't had that a d the only certain advice was to hire a family lawyer.

I have public liability and it stated in the policy schedule I was covered for legal costs and defence cover (14 years I’ve believed this!), only to be told by the case manager that I wasn’t covered?!

Tried to input to your portal, could not see how to upload my insurance policy( using and I-Pad). You have my company and policy No. Put on hold , when I tried to reconnect I was asked for an internet coding??????. You haven’t given me one?? I will try again but feel like the system is a barrier to the customer.

Shaney was meant to send me a claim form yesterday but never did. Have can you forget something so important. Very irresponsible and unprofessional. Have they any legal experience at all.

Absolutely awful! Will delay, delay and delay processing a claim and use every excuse under the sun to avoid approval. They try to wear you down. Totally dishonest shocking service. Taken my complaint to FCA, Ombudsman, BBC Watchdog and Martin Lewis. Make sure your insurance provider outsources the legal expenses to a company that us qualified

Suggestion:

It would be helpful to get a call briefly saying my case is received and being processed...automated emails are of little confort under stressed situations.

The form was quite complicated, given that my tenant hasn't paid the rent he contracted to pay. It seemed simple to me at the outset: has the tenant signed an agreement? Yes has he paid in accordance? No. Insurance covers the legal costs.
