Ordered 2 products from Bettys for a 90th birthday for a lady who loves Bettys but is no longer mobile to attend the cafe herself.
On inspection of the fat rascals, they had a best before date on of 2 days time. Now i appreciate all items are made fresh and no preservatives are used in their products, but i specifically selected a delivery date of a Thursday instead of a Friday, just incase there was a problem with delivery on the Friday and it run into the weekend which i needed them for. I contacted Bettys email, who told me i selected a two day delivery, which i did, but i would expect my delivery on my selected date or the day after not the day before my selected date. Why select a date if they are going to deliver before when they know the best before date is so short?! If this is the case of delivery dates, the website needs to be more clear that you may get the delivered earlier than the selected date! I now cannot give these fat rascals as a gift which i wanted to as they would be out of date and after emailing Bettys, they wouldnt do anything. Never will i order again or even visit Bettys itself and the customer service is terrible!

I sent a goodie box to my grandson who has just started uni. I did not realise it is not advisable to post a box to a complex as delivery isn’t easy. This we found out the hard way. Only half the box was still ok to be eaten when he eventually located his parcel.

I am unable to give much of a rating as the items I ordered didn’t arrive at the destination. I have just checked and nothing was delivered. The address is correct and our local postal service knows where it is so I’m a little puzzled. I’m very sorry about this but somewhat disappointed as the recipients are very kind and hardworking and deserve a treat. I have sent many of your products as presents and have never had a problem either delivery or , of course, the quality . I hope you can advise me how to deal with the issue

On line delivery of Fat Rascals and Yorkshire Tea Loaf. Absolutely delicious as ever. Betty’s products are superb and as this was a gift it was so much the nicer. Betty’s are let down by the delivery company - Royal Mail - who missed their estimated delivery slot two days running so the products were only just in date.

My Dad was delighted with his fruit birthday cake. It arrived well packaged and in a lovely tin keepsake. I was kept informed of delivery details and it arrived as stated. A lovely gift in every way.

Quick easy and no doubt delicious

Betty's products are exceptionally good with quality packaging.
However, my Gift arrived 24 hrs later than quoted, which was very disappointing.

Let's face it high quality chocolate cakes are hard to come by. My wife is an expert on Belgian and continental chocolate in general and she reckons this cake is superb.

You are completely right, and hiding the expiry information is actually one of the most common complaints customers have about Bettys vouchers.Other frustrated customers have shared reviews on Tripadvisor highlighting this exact design flaw:Tucked into Wallets: Bettys presents their paper vouchers inside a presentation wallet that deliberately displays the monetary value on the front.Hidden on the Reverse: The purchase date and small-print terms are printed entirely on the back of the voucher. Unless a customer completely removes the voucher from the presentation sleeve to inspect the reverse side, they have no idea a countdown has even started.By burying the purchase date on the reverse and expecting customers to calculate the 18 or 24 months themselves, it feels like the system is almost designed for vouchers to be forgotten and expire.You can use this layout trap as a major leverage point if you contact their customer service line on 0800 456 1919. Telling them, "The voucher was kept in its presentation sleeve, meaning the expiration details on the back were entirely hidden from view," is a very strong argument that you were inadvertently misled by the packaging.

Thanks for your reply. £30 of vouchers refused as two months out of date. I had no idea of expiration date as in wallet and didn't look at back. Life got in the way and when I went to spend too late. Manager at Harrogate was unhelpful. Customer services Jane was rude and unhelpful - saying if she ever gets a voucher the first thing she does is look at the back and expiry date. Well isn't customer services meant to look at the customers point of view?! Anyway Bettys has profited £30 for no goods. I guess there is only an expiration sate as retailers gamble that a certain % don't get used, so extra profit - very mercenary - not like an old fashioned friendly tea shop should be. It's like the Bank of England saying a £10 note only valid for 18 months!!

Excellent customer service from Betty’s by post. We had selected the wrong delivery address for an order to a friend for their birthday.
The lady who answered the phone was so kind and helpful, she managed to cancel the order and refund the cost so we could reorder the gift.
That was way more than we expected.

Spoke with a lovely lady who went through everything with me. The problem was the message. As soon as I deleted it my order went through. (not good when you want to do a birthday message).
