Scotland trip
Went to Scotland with the wife on fri 9th October 26 to mon 12th October 26. Stayed in the Arrochar Hotel which is a beautiful hotel built in the 1600's (I think). The twin room that we had was a bit on the small side and the beds (mattresses) weren't up to scratch. Could feel the springs. The shower in the room was spot on quite powerful and really hot. The hotel sits right on the loch long with loch lomond being about 2 miles away. Our room was at the front so if they cut down the trees in front of the window you would get a real good view. All the staff there from the reception to the bar staff and kitchen staff were friendly and full of smiles. You get 4 free drinks per person per night and the food was excellent. We did a couple of trips whilst there oban and a waterfall also up to Fort William which were great but they were long days. The drive up with stops was about 7 hours which isn't too bad. On the way back we took a break at Gretna Green which is quite interesting. Lastly the driver we had( sorry but forgot his name) was brilliant. He certainly knew his stuff keeping us well informed about history along the way. He was a credit to Caledonian.

I was expecting so much more from the…
I was expecting so much more from the overnight trip to Skye , we left at 8.10 am & arrived just before 7pm just in time for dinner , we knew it was a long drive but didn’t expect that long , we got dropped off at Broadfoot & the shops were all closing , ended up having a coffee in a pub to pass the time , was pointless stopping at that time , Sunday we left at 9.30 so we could go to Fort William , was lovely but again many shops closed on a Sunday , we thought we were going to Callander but got told that would all be closed so no point, the hotel was fine , our room was lovely & cozy & immaculate so no issue there , would have thought some sort of entertainment would be on , nothing on in the hotel or the nearby pub , we ended up in bed bored watching tv , very long trip , beautiful scenery

While the journey to Skye is a lengthy one due to the distance involved, we appreciate that the arrival time and limited time available in Broadford left you feeling disappointed. We're also sorry that some of the shops were closed during your visits and that changes to the itinerary meant you did not visit Callander as anticipated.
