★☆☆☆☆ – Appalling Service, No Communication and rude staff - receptionists

Our sofa was inspected by Castelan’s professional engineer in October, and nearly two weeks later, we have received absolutely no update.

Our sofa remains completely unusable, and we have been left in the dark about whether replacement parts have been ordered, repairs are being arranged, or a replacement sofa will be provided. In the meantime, we are literally sitting on the floor!

To make matters worse, when contacting Castelan for updates, we have experienced rude, hostile and unhelpful customer service. Rather than providing answers, they make you feel like an inconvenience simply for asking about your own claim.

Castelan was appointed through Domestic & General under an insurance policy for sofas purchased from Argos. We took out insurance expecting peace of mind, not weeks of uncertainty, poor communication and unnecessary stress.

A serious warning to anyone considering furniture insurance through Argos or Domestic & General: Be very cautious about the service you may receive when you actually need to make a claim.

Based on our experience, the entire process has been an absolute nightmare. Nearly two weeks after the inspection, we still have no resolution, no clear timescale and no meaningful communication.

We were given a 2 hour slot insurance employee was late no apology not a very pleasant experience. He cleaned sofa and told me if I wasn't satisfied to get back in touch with insurance company. I asked him about the seat sagging and was told I'd have to put another claim in surely he could advise. He just didn't seem very helpful.

The technician who attended and completed a repair on my furniture was friendly, fast and efficient. He had the repair done within 20 minutes and the issue is now fully resolved.
