I purchased a car and used it for approximately two and a half months. During this period, a fault developed in the vehicle, and as it could not be repaired, I returned the car to the dealer.
At the time, the return process appeared to be straightforward. However, despite the vehicle being returned, my finance account was incorrectly kept active, and I received several calls stating that payments were overdue. I clearly explained both to the dealer and to the finance company that the vehicle had already been returned.
More than six months have now passed. This month, I received an email confirming that the vehicle no longer belongs to me. Despite this confirmation, the finance agreement is still showing as active in my online banking, which is negatively affecting my credit score.
I am extremely concerned about this situation and disappointed with the level of customer service. I do not understand how this matter is still remained unresolve. I don’t know how anyone could be that much confused.

My loan was arranged by a motor dealer who found me the best rate available. The loan was set up very quickly, needing just an e signature.
Other than that I have had no need to contact Close Brothers so I cant comment on customer service etc. but I would certainly use again.

The most aggressive company I have dealt with, Default sent in less than 14 day. If you are thinking about taking out any agreement with Close Crothers be aware that they are always on the offensive - the most threatening and unhelpful bank I have dealt with - I have just canceled everything with Close Brothers and will ensure that before I go with a company finance I will check its close brothers and will refuse if it is. Life is too short to deal with Close Bros constant letters, threats and aggression.

Premium finance price don’t match the price in agreement and after 6 phone calls looks like nobody cares and rudely hang your call. All the same

I am extremely unhappy with the service I’ve received from this finance company. They took my Direct Debit payment twice and admitted the duplicate payment was their mistake. Despite this, I have now been waiting over three weeks for a refund and I am still waiting.
I have had to repeatedly chase them for updates. Every time I call, I speak to a different team member and have to explain the situation all over again. There is no continuity, no ownership of the issue, and no urgency to resolve it.
To make matters worse, the person I spoke to today refused to send an email confirming our conversation or outlining the next steps. This lack of transparency and poor communication is unacceptable.
Taking duplicate payments can seriously affect someone’s finances, and the way this has been handled has only added stress and frustration. I would not recommend this company based on my experience.

Everything went great, start to finish. Courteous, helpful, knowledgeable. Only criticism I have is the experience was to quick, I was at work unable to respond to emails phone calls and texts, always just felt rushed.

Dealer said I was top tier credit rating and car was purchased on the day of pick up
As I was driving away the dealer ran outside to tell me to wait as Close Brothers wanted 3 months bank statements
This was never a condition of offer but after getting the statements which actually showed more income than stated, everything seemed fine
They then requested certified accounts !!!!
At which point I was ready to walk away even though my car had already been purchased by the dealer !!!
After about 2 hours at the Dealership the car finance was released without the accounts requested
Embarrassing, annoying and a complete waste of time because C Brothers didn’t seem to know what they were doing .
No apologies, no contact and no explanation
Not a great start !!!!

Unfortunately had a bad experience financing my car as it turned out to be not fit for purpose. On a brighter note close brothers fought my side to the end and got the dealership to take the car back with a full refund to my self great customer service. Always there to help case handler was brilliant.

I brought a car with the help of Close Brothers finance. I paid on time for 4 years, didn't hear from them, and I never needed to contact them. I decided to pay the settlement fee a year before my finance ended. They were extremely helpful and friendly, it was completed within 48hrs. Great service.

Great experience arranged finance for first car which I decide to cancel because garage messed me around,they had no problem cancelling it for me and arranged again for another car with no problems at all
