Great Bike Great Service
Bought from CMC Claycross some years ago, took delivery of another bike today !!! Can't pick fault in anyway with the bike, the deal, Nick who dealt with me who was great and finally the delivery of the bike. Totally recommend.
Tires
Went to see about a new tire, gave the chap behind counter the size, told me that was not a proper size, yet that's what was on my old tire, then said it would be very hard to fit ,wheel is off the bike so don't know what the difficulty would be, then told me it would be £50 to fit it, then told me to have a talk with workshop to see if it could be done, young lad at other end of counter said they would fit it and fitting cost would be £25 don't think first bloke was interested, will not be going back there,
I only deal with CMC.
I only deal with CMC.
Have gone through a number of bikes with CMC over the last few years.
My only criticism is that companies need to recognise that and provide a better deal sometimes to valued customers.
Flawless
The whole process from start to finish was very easy. Wayne was professional in all aspects of the sale and arranging the delivery of my new bike and the collection of the PX.
The delivery driver showed me the bike and how to attach and take off the panniers as well as other items a great service all round.
I bought my fourth bike from CMC…
I bought my fourth bike from CMC Cannock last November which I initially thought to be a Repsol cbr1000rr, a bike i have wanted for years, priced at 6k, all throughout myself inspecting the bike, sitting on the bike, asking about all the details of the bike, applying for the finance, waiting for the finance decision, there was no mention that this bike was not a genuine "Honda" Repsol, I bought the bike last November and didnt even use the bike until April this year as i am a fair weather biker, then at a local bike meet it was brought to me attention that my bike was NOT a genuine "Honda Repsol"which I must admit I felt very cheated but what could I do after 6 months? I used the bike since and it is an immaculate bike that has never missed a beat but im 53 now and have decided to go for a cruiser style bike, I approached CMC today in regards to part exchanging the CBR against another bike today, the CBR is still in immaculate condition now with 4000 extra miles after 11 months and was offered 3k for my bike against another bike priced at 9.6k leaving me a massive shortfall in finance, I would have expected to pay a few hundred pounds in shortfall as I have done this same thing with my past 3 bikes and the trade in price has always wiped the finance slate clean after 12 months, but I more than feel that CMC have left me feeling 100% conned and now I am stuck with the bike, I am truly gutted as I have always highly praised CMC to everybody but I will never use in the future
Rip off lowball Trade in offer, Beware
What a rip off, dont bother going for a trade quote these guys are daylight robbers. I tbought WBAB were bad, but honestly to offer £1000 less trade in than cash from WBAB is just pure greed, they came back with an offer of £5000 for my 2016 Ducati Diavel Carbon against a £5999 Triumph, which will net them a tidy profit in the first place so why the ridiculous low ball offer. Take your business to a dealer that cares about motorcyclists, not these profit first companies that look to take advantage of fellow motorcyclists, especially those that have to sell, luckily I dont.
Great service
Took my bike in this morning for service and MOT. Staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating. I was first told it would be about 3-4 hours, which I was happy with, it gave me a chance to have some food from the chuck wagon outside, which was very nice and good value. When the mechanic realised I was going to wait he rushed on with my bike and it was all done in 2 hours.
Great service and I’ll definitely be returning.
So far so good
So far so good. Bought a nearly new Z900 via the website from the Chesterfield branch. I found the whole sale (guided by Adam) really smooth from enquiry to delivery (free of charge) to my address in Hereford. The bike arrived in perfect condition and was delivered with care by CMC's driver. I have to admit I had a few reservations buying a motorcycle without physically seeing it, and being 100% reliant on a company that I'd never dealt with before. Thanks CMC for your professional service.
Simon and Phil in Newport CMC store
Simon and Phil in Newport CMC store, upstairs with the helmets were absolutely brilliant. They went above and beyond what we were hoping for. We have been to 4 other bike shops and could not find helmets to fit us both but here they ordered a helmet for my husband, without obligation and fitted intercom communications to both helmets. They were brilliant
Fantastic company and salesman
Great company and Shaun was so friendly and easy to talk to, was a real pleasure to deal with a no pressure company. The bike I received was exactly as it said on the advert, pristine condition and lovely to ride. I would highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again on my next purchase.

Very helpful and friendly staff
Very helpful and friendly staff. No sales pressure, just very knowledgeable.
Cannock CMC
Cannock CMC , best customer service ever . Bought a bike out of their scratch and dent spares or repairs department and received better customer service than you get buying brand new bikes elsewhere. Bike is brilliant and so is the customer service, thank you.
I bought an 18 month old Honda Goldwing…
I bought an 18 month old Honda Goldwing from CMC Newport in April ’24.
1) The motorcycle was advertised as having a heated seat, subsequently they confirmed it was an error in their advert and it didn’t have a heated seat.
2) There was no tool kit with the bike yet the rubber securing strap was there. I phoned and enquired and they said they would call back if they came across it – they never did call back. I have spent £245 on the proper Honda tool kit.
3) 10 days after having bought the bike I was fitting a battery charging lead and I found it is fitted with the wrong smaller Non Honda battery. More importantly the battery was insecure with fixing strap missing and there were two pieces of copper pipe foam insulation wedged under the battery because it was too small. The battery strap had been handed to me with the documents wallet, and this is after the bike is supposed to have undergone a '37 point pre delivery inspection'.
I sent an email of complaint and the recipient passed it on to their service manager to call me, that conversation concluded with him saying he would get a trade price for the tool kit and call me back, - that was almost a month ago and still waiting.
From my experience CMC Newport completely lost interest once the deal was done and they’d taken the deposit. Their aftersales service is a joke and their communication with the customer is diabolical. Neither the sales or the aftersales departments give the impression of taking pride in what they do, both making fundamental mistakes. The bike is great I just wish I’d never bought it from them. I certainly won’t be buying another bike from them ever.
Peak District long tour
I would like thank all those at CMC motorcycles, for the ride out over the Peak District. Nice to see such a turn out by the motorcycle community. Met some nice people, who conducted themselves well on the ride out. Excellent people. Winnats pass was truly amazing. Marshall's did really well keeping us all together. Many thanks Eric Ashby
Recently bought an immaculate 20 year…
Recently bought an immaculate 20 year old Harley Davidson VRod with very low miles from CMC Cannock. The bike had a few teething problems as it has spent most of its life sitting around. The sales team and service guys have been outstanding with their support. Can't recommend em enough if you want peace of mind with your next purchase. Thank you. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Check your appointment times, there are 2 types.
Hi I called in at CMC Claycross to have an oil seal replaced, I brought the bike from them a year ago for £4000 and was very happy with the deal, I sold my previous bike privately because the salesman said the px rates we're not favourable.
Anyhow the lady on the parts department was friendly and asked if I wanted to wait or leave it with them when I booked it in.
I said I live local so didn't mind eitherway but I worked afternoon shifts so can I book it in early.
She said it could take up to 2 hours to replace 1 oil seal behind the front sprocket and can fit me in for 9.00am.
Great I expected I could pick it up by 11.00am.
Arrived today and left her the keys and she said to me there are others booked in before me and she would give me a call when it's ready, I asked again will it be ready for 11.00 and she said probably not because the people who book in and wait guarantee their appointment whilst if you leave it with them, you don't get a set appointment and it gets done when they have fitted the others in.
Why wasn't this explained at the time and i would of booked a waiting appointment , subsequently I've got wet through taking my bike to a non existant appointment and I have no idea if it will be ready today or not. 🤔
I don't have this issue when my car is booked in for work.
Trade in values
I have decided to remove my original review, after communicating with CMC I feel there is a mutual understanding that the trade in offer for my ADV was not a finite offer, there may well have been the option to further negotiate.
My updated review then would include that the first offer on a trade in value is merely the basis for negotiation, as I am someone who does not like to haggle I'm still of the view that margins are tight for buyers and sellers alike.
Would I recommend CMC, well yes i would based on the range of bikes they have to offer, I can't speak about aftersales as i haven't made any purchases with them.
What I can endorse is that if the team are anything like Ross, you can make that deal.
I am still unhappy about my original trade in offer, however Ross has taken the time to explain the business model and this hasn't dissuaded me from considering them in the future for a cash only purchase.

CMC Cannock excellent service !
I have purchased a number of bikes over the years from Chris at the Cannock branch who is awesome every time, great service and deals and px prices, I recently. Purchased a tiger explorer which came with a lifetime warranty, 2 months later I noticed the header exhaust was rusty and rotten, I thought it wouldn’t be under warranty but I went to see Neil in the service department and thought I’d run it by him, without any fuss or deliberation he ordered a new one at no cost to me, two weeks later it was fitted and the service was awesome ! Would thoroughly recommend all the staff and service at cmc Cannock! Many thanks
Don't part exchange...
Bought my present bike from CMC and drove to the Newport branch to discuss a deal on my next one. Sadly couldn't do a deal as I feel that offering me a deal where they take my bike (11 grand forecourt value, they have one on the CMC website at this price... ) and an additional £2249, in exchange for a bike they're selling at 9 and a half grand is not a good deal for anybody but them. Assuming they would make similar margins on both bikes, I think that me asking for the 2249 to be closer to 1750 was still very good margins for CMC. Absolutely no negotiation on what would have been my second purchase and ongoing business. Penny wise, pound foolish unfortunately. I'd expect that CMC will go the same way as Carnells did and alienate enough return customers to impact the overall viability of the business. Shame really.
CMC will doubtless have their response to what they view as a negative review amongst a good number of decent reviews but I ask you to consider the maths before going ahead. Would you be happy chopping in an 11 grand bike for 7250 and then stumping up a further couple of grand to ride away on something which is pretty unpopular sales wise, and still worth less even though it's 4 years younger? If we stopped accepting terrible valuations, their business model collapses because they can't get stock.
