I had a very disappointing experience with EcoShield Pest Solutions. A sales representative named Devin came through my neighborhood in Boca Raton and told me I could cancel my service at any time without a fee. That was a key reason I agreed to sign up.
When I later called to cancel, I was told there is a cancellation fee. I explained exactly what their sales rep had told me, but the company refused to honor it. Instead, they pointed to the fine print in the contract and would not make any exception.
If your sales team is making promises that contradict your contract, that is a company problem, not the customer’s. Either the rep was misleading, or the company does not stand behind what its representatives say. Either way, it feels deceptive.
I would strongly advise anyone considering their services to get everything in writing and not rely on verbal assurances from their sales team.

Even though we had a good experience with the service technicians it was all overshadowed by the fact that when we requested to cancel our service they charged us a $250 termination fee. It may have been mentioned in the fine print but it should have been pointed out to us.

stay away, they'll hold you hostage before letting you cancel. the most incompetent and frustrating customer support ive ever had the misfortune of speaking to.

The most terrible experience ever. I agreed to first treatment and was promised by the agent that I'm not signing a contract. However, after the first treatment I was told, I am committed to 3 treatments and the only way to stop the contract is to pay $250 fee. After the 3 treatments I asked to stop and then I was told that I'm actually committed to 5 treatments. In addition, they schedule appointments without any coordination just sending a message I need to be home. Rescheduling is a pain and they rarely show up when they schedule. The last 2 times I took time off work to be home, and they didn’t show up. They claim that every treatment takes 20-30min, but based on my home camera the technician was here less than 4 minutes. It is such a scam! The phone representatives are extremely unhelpful. Just saying sorry and repeat my name. I can’t wait to be detached from this unprofessional company, since this has been an extremely frustrating experience. Stay away!!

Ditto what everyone else said. Clueless people with broken promises. No shows and shows when not scheduled. Call center BS when you want to cancel and threaten termination fees. I told them you do not have permission to charge my card or I will dispute and sue them. Got an email 5 minutes later saying they gave me the courtesy of not charging me. Clowns!

This company has a high pressure sells team. The work that is completed could be done by home owner with over the counter supplies from any hardware store. They lock you in and then have a $250 cancelation fee. Don’t get involved with this company.

I've been dealing with this company for over a year. They lock you in with an early cancelation contract and then proceed to provide subpar service. They had to come multiple times because the first treatments didn't work. And the last straw was that they charged me for a service that they never provided.

Ecoshield Pest Control scams customers into a fraudulent scheme where they enroll you into a 24 month contract without your consent. They then charge an early termination fee of $250 if you call and complain. Their customer service is absolutely horrendous. Recommended steering clear of scammers like this company!

I had gofers. Brad came out and did a home inspection. He went over what he found and I appreciate so much his attention to my home and my welfare. I found him knowledgeable and forthright. The very next day I had a crew under Dustin and they did a fabulous job. Thomas took care of my gofer problem. I am so happy with my service. The young men were courteous and knew what they were doing. They all completed my service efficiently and in a timely manner. I have been using EchoShield Pest Control on an annual contract for about eight years I would highly recommend them to family and friends.

They assume that they can make appointments without consulting you first. They refuse to pause pest treatments requested by customer because they are rigid with their schedule and then they feel it’s ok to cancel your policy and charge you for them canceling and expect you the customer to pay while sending out email stating they want to make things right. The only way to make things right for them is doing it their way. They do not believe the customer is important. Their emails reflect everything said the right way and still they disregard the customer unless you do as they want! I would never use them again and will tell my neighbors to not use as well!!!!

Predatory company. Complete lack of customer service. My experience is similar to everyone else posting here.

There's an ongoing class action lawsuit against Eco Shield alleging unauthorized cancellation fees disguised as "discounts" or not mentioned in agreements. Check classaction.org or contact the law firm involved (often listed in lawsuit summaries) to see if you qualify to join—it's nationwide and could resolve your fee without individual action.

They promise you, when they come calling to get you to sign up, that they can get rid of everything. I told them we live on a lake and no other pest control service we had tried were able to control spiders, ants, and water midges. They told me of a special way they treated the ground out a number of feet from the property and no insect would cross it. They treated the first visit. Before the second visit they contacted me wanting to know if there were any areas I had of particular concern. I specified specifically the area around the back door. I wasn't home the day after the treatment but when I arrived home there were spider webs in two of the corners of the back door. I took photos and sent them in with my concerns about them not addressing it and received no response. I tried a second time with no response. When they contacted me regarding the date of the third service, I said no. If you are not going to do what I signed up and paid for and are not going to respond when I contact you, I am done. They wanted to keep me on at a lower price. I told them I would not pay any price for no service and to cancel. They have been hounding me for several months now for a $250 termination fee.

Absolutely do NOT use this service!! Heavy pushy marketing. They lock you into a contract they do not sufficiently detail the cancelation fees. Also was not satisfied at all with their service!

All I can say is that they are misleading and predatory. Their contract does not align with what the sales reps explain. It's only after you sign (trusting the rep to be honest) do you discover the extent they have trapped you. They will suck every dollar from you...and their service is sub-par. I'm paying $150 per visit (was told it was $69...and that's what was showing on the iPad) and they stay 7-10 minutes per visit. STAY AWAY!

Scammer with ineffective pest control solutions that then try to hit you with a termination fee. If your services worked, I wouldn't cancel!

The service doesn't work! If I could leave NEGATIVE stars I would!

They lock you in a contact with requirements that need to be met, for a service/treatment to your property that will send every creepy-crawlie thing you are treating for, from your land into your house. At which point to clear the residence, your would then need to pay them to come back.

If you do what I tried to do which is to keep pending/pushing off the services until your 1-year contract is up, so you can cancel without penalty, well that doesn't work either. You are required to pay for a minimum of 5 treatments per your contract, and you are also only permitted to post-pone a service for 150 days. But NO, your property will be completely treated in EXACTLY 5 services, it wouldn't maybe require more (i.e. 6 or 7), heck, what happens if everything is clear at 4, do you still have to pay for the 4th service that you don't need?

Essentially they back you into a corner of A) continuing to pay for them to come provide a service/treatment that doesn't work, or B) pay an earlier cancellation fee on a contract for a service that doesn't work. Either way, you should expect to pay something.

Icing on the cake, you try to call, and you end up speaking with a multitude of people who have no decision making authority or ability to do anything except attempt to apologize, make excuses, or try to shift the blame back on to you for not "completing the process, and that is why you are still having issues." Not at all understanding that the issues stopped when you stopped having them treat the property. Ask for a supervisor and conveniently there are none available, but one will call you back in 24-hours!

This whole thing is a scam and a joke! I would definitely NOT recommend signing on with this company!

Came knocking on our door and my husband signed up. They sprayed the outside and claimed it won't be completely effective unless we let them treat inside of our home as well. We did not let them, with having a 2 week old baby.
We've never had a bug issue inside of our home until they sprayed outside. Then some other person from the company came to do an inspection. And claimed they found all sorts of issues and claimed we had an ongoing termite infestation on our back deck, even showed a video. Claimed we had a wasp issue because of a vent in our garage (lies), claiming we would have a mouse issue if we didn't let them fix the garage door and so forth.
They wanted $1500 to fix everything. We declined but are still stuck with their quarterly treatment having signed a one year contract.
Had another pest company inspect the house and so forth and they found zero active termite infestations. And also explained that bait stations are a waste of money because there's no guarantee they work. Eco shield insisted on bait stations and an ongoing contract so they would come out and rebait them and be able to charge us over and over again.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE> First off, the door to door salesman LIED to me saying there was no cancelation fee if I was not satisfied with the service. This is not true as it was 80% of the full year service. Second, the treatments are expensive and use the same chemicals as a lawn treatment company. If you use lawncare, add this option and save the big $. Finally, yes they spray inside the house but for a FRACTION of the cost you can buy the same spray at Home Depot and DIY by walking around and spraying the perimeter baseboards of your rooms for pennies. There is no magic. The kicker >>> They wanted to come December 18 (expected to be 28 degrees) and spray the outside of my house as part of the quarterly treatment saying "it will kill dormant insect eggs" - My response- so will 25% temps for free. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
