I am very impressed with Woollcotts in Bude. We went in yesterday to get a new oven and were told we could have it delivered today. Two helpful and friendly installers turned up first thing, set everything up for us and took the old one away. Delivery was free too. Excellent customer service - will definitely use them for other appliances.

When buying big and small electrical items for the home over the years - like a lot of people, I've tended to think of my local Curry's as the first go-to destination.

But lately, after one single visit to HBH Woolacotts in Coypool, Plympton, this has all changed!

It started when my Neff built-in oven failed after many years' service, and I went over to Woolacotts to see what they had in store, and I first met a lovely young lady called Shannon, who quickly guided me towards a the best replacement, and it was at this point that I realised that Woolacotts were interested in selling me the best equipment for the job, rather than, as tends to happen in Curry's, they just occasionally seem a bit more inclined to want to sell you a more expensive item, with a couple of bells and whistles you don't need. Fortunately, money isn't that significant, but I still don't see the point in paying for functions I don't need, as it can also mean that there's more to go wrong!

After that, there followed a number of items like a washing machine, Dyson Air Purifier, Steam Iron etc all of which I have bought at Woolacotts!

Their prices are excellent! I always thought that Curry's has stores across the UK, so their buying-power would be more advantageous, but, in the event, they don't even appear to price-watch Woolacotts locally, because Woolacotts' prices are just too good!

But the real icing on the cake is how quickly they deliver any item - in many cases on the morning of the next day, which is fantastic, and for many things, delivery is free, I recall. With the washing machine/oven, there was a charge, I believe, but it was really cost-effective, and they took away, and disposed of the failed equipment.

The Plympton branch is lovely inside, a big carpark right outside, easy to get to, and all the staff I met are really lovely and helpful!

As mentioned earlier, it's a myth that these types of smaller conglomerates will be more expensive than the bigger guys. Always check them out, as they certain do operate a price-watch facility.

Even the delivery guys are particularly helpful and accommodating! Highly recommended, in my humble opinion!

Our washing machine failed and HBH Woolacotts were appointed by the manufacturer for a warranty repair. Contact from HBHW was friendly and repair was arranged quickly. Service engineer was friendly and professional. 5 star all round.

After having the same TV for the past two decades, I knew it was time for a change. But with all the different models out there, I was a bit lost and needed some help. I went to HBH Woolacotts in Plymouth, and Rhys was there to guide me. He gave me plenty of time to research and understand what I was looking for before asking for his advice. Rhys knew a lot about the latest tech, which was a bit overwhelming at first. But he was patient and explained everything in a way that I could understand. It was clear that he was not only knowledgeable but also really good at helping people. HBH Woolacotts should be so lucky to have him as their employee.

After answering all my questions and making sure I was happy with my decision, I went home with a new TV!

When credit's due... the customer service has exceeded expectations since my last review, which I believe was about the company policy rather than service. Our fridge freezer packed up, and Sophie sorted out a loan and an engineer within the following two days. Darren checked in with us and took care of everything. We've bought quite a few products from them and will continue to.

Ordered a fridge freezer over the phone from the Liskeard branch, really helpful staff. Delivery was excellent , on time and very polite delivery drivers , very happy with service

Started off with a good experience, myself and my wife were coming to woolacotts to purchase some items for our new kitchen that we are having renovated. We were looking for some knives, we pick some of the rockingham forge knives up (£150) go to the till and seemed to be greeted by a judgemental employee called Sasha, they scanned the knives and said “you’re not going to do anything silly with these are you” I stood there puzzled and didn’t know whether to be offended or not, I’m going to cook with these knives .. I don’t know what they were suggesting but I’m sure you will get my drift where that sentence was going 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Very disappointed in Sasha. To be honest, I’m a bit put off now shopping there. Sort it out please.

I bought a washing Teknix washing machine which stopped working after 32 days. The breakdown service provided by the warranty people was rubbish. But once I was put onto H B H Woolacotts things got a whole lot better. Great customer service on the phone line, Kevin the engineer was polite, efficient and informative. Really good experience, just wish I'd bought the machine from them in the first place.

After many many years of online purchases I now will only buy local and normally hbh if possible, purely for the awesome after care services you get.

Any problem and they're always happy to help.
Called today, immediately answered (before the stated opening times) with a washing machine issue, booked in for repair for two days time.
Whole process took less than five minutes.

Would highly recommend.

I wanted to buy a new music system and after doing some online research decided on a Ruark R3S. I checked HBH Woolacotts' website which indicated the Plymouth branch had this product in stock, as well as a second graded version, which was on display. When approached by the female assistant, I said that I wanted to buy a new Ruark R3S. She replied that I was in luck as they had a discounted version that had been mistakenly opened from its packaging. I looked at the displayed model and noticed that it had a .75 cm chip on the wood surrounding the unit. I told the assistant that I would prefer a new, unboxed product to which she replied I would be foolish to not accept the discounted version. I then returned to the first version on display and this also had chipped wood. The assistant said "See, this is natural wood so there will always be chips on it", to which I replied "at £649 I would expect better". Woolacotts did not actually have any new unboxed R3S in stock, only two displayed items, despite their website indicating otherwise. So, I then ordered the product at Richer Sounds, Plymouth branch for £629. The product was available the next day and there were no chips or marks on the product. I also bought an LG OLED tv from Richer Sounds, so bad customer service lost HBH Woolacotts £1,500 of sales. In summary, don't trust the company's website stock figures, but do expect to be lied to (every product has chipped wood) and insulted (foolish for not wanting a damaged displayed product).

Had a problem with my washing machine which was still in Guarantee, Woolicotts have been very helpful in sorting out. All staff very polite and nothing too much trouble.

What a joy to use a local company with outstanding customer service. From walking in and making a purchase to having items delivered and installed all the staff were so helpful and knowledgeable. Will be using them in the future for all things electrical.

I never use anyone else now for my electrical goods. Just purchased a TV, fridge freezer and dishwasher from HBH. Great prices, and even better service. Delivered on time as promised and by friendly and willing staff. Even though the appliances were on the first floor, they didn't bat an eyelid. I had a minor technical hitch setting up the smart TV, but a very brief call to the friendly team at Coypool resolved the issued.
Once again 10/10 to everyone at HBH Plymouth. Faultless service.

We purchased a new television which was delivered and installed by Woolacotts with their usual efficiency, however, there was a faulty on/off switch which meant the television kept turning on from standby.
I contacted Woolacotts who offered to check it out and soon found the problem.
They replaced the television very efficiently, this was much appreciated

Our dishwasher packed up on the morning of New Year's Eve. By lunchtime on 2 January Woolacotts in Bude had delivered and fitted a new appliance and taken the old one away. Outstanding service, thank you.

I’d been thinking about investing in a turntable for a couple of years with our vinyl collection just sitting in boxes. Popped into their St Austell branch and treated myself to the Audio Technica LP120X turntable for my birthday. On setting it up on New Years Day I found that the box with the turntable inside was incorrectly labelled. The turntable inside wasn’t the Bluetooth version which was what I needed to connect it to our Bluetooth speaker in the living room.

I made a quick phone call to Darren at their Plymouth store to explain the issue. He couldn’t have been more helpful! Rang me back within a few minutes to confirm that they had a replacement available if I wanted to pop over. The issue wasn’t theirs, it was a warehouse labelling issue.

Headed over an hour later, swapped the turntable for the right one. Within 10 minutes of getting home the turntable was all set up and connected to our speaker!

Superb, warm sound! So simple to set up. And faultless service from Darren and his team. Will definitely be shopping locally again for electrical and audio equipment!

My washing machine packed up following the recent power cuts (Storm Darragh) and another well known electrical chain wanted 2 weeks to deliver a new machine even though it was in stock. HBH Woolacotts could deliver within 3 days from their St Austell store. I contacted Customer Services to ask for delivery instructions to be added and received a response within 30 minutes. Within an hour of placing the order I had my delivery date. On the day of delivery I had to request the delivery was changed due to South West Water being on site digging up drains (unexpected!). That was no problem and delivery arranged for Monday. Delivery team turned up within the time specified and were polite and helpful. Answered all my questions. it was such a pleasure to deal with a helpful company who are local and have a local customer service team who respond quickly. The flexibility with the last minute change of delivery was amazing. I will definitely be back to purchase from this company in the future.

We purchased a new washing machine, on Tuesday, from Launceston, it was delivered and installed on Saturday.
The installation crew were excellent. The old machine was removed and the new one installed in super quick time. The crew, Adam and Kieran were superb, and so polite. We have had a television, double oven and now a washing machine delivered and installed by HBH Woolacotts and all the crews have been excellent.

Our existing washing machine became faulty,the insurers count come until the 17th after several phone conversation, we decided to ring HBH woollacot Plymouth Their attitude to my problem was first rate and they come to our rescue delivering the new machine on the 12/12/24 and fitted it. I spend 50 years plus in customer service operations! This is GOOD customer service thank you woollacots
