They messed up on my original order
They messed up on my original order, didn’t arrive zero communication. This was for my nephew, and now left the country as it took over 2 week to arrive. I questioned them, again no explanation just, we are sending a new one. Now the package has been delivered to an address that no one can retrieve. They lack basic customer services, lack communication on order and are more than happy to take your money regardless of you receiving items. Almost theift. Please stick to lovevry toys, standard are much better, coupled with great customer service. 1st and last time dealing with this company.

There was an issue with the original delivery due to a courier problem. As soon as you contacted us to let us know the parcel had not arrived, we offered to send a replacement. Before doing so, we clearly explained that we would be resending the order and asked you to confirm the delivery address for the replacement. You confirmed that the address provided was correct.
Once the address was confirmed, a replacement parcel was dispatched immediately using a faster, premium courier service. At no point prior to dispatch were we advised that a replacement was not wanted or that you would be out of the country. We were only informed of this after the replacement parcel had already been shipped, at which point it was unfortunately no longer possible to stop or reroute the delivery due to the speed of the service used.
The courier has confirmed that the replacement parcel was successfully delivered to the confirmed address, with proof of delivery provided.
We understand how disappointing delivery issues can be, especially when an item is intended as a gift, and we genuinely regret the frustration this situation has caused. However, we did act promptly once alerted, communicated clearly about the replacement, and dispatched it as quickly as possible once the address was confirmed.
We are sorry that this experience did not meet your expectations.

No value on customers
I am really disappointed with this company and the communication I have had with them. This was a gift for my grandson 1st birthday and it arrived in a box which was bashed and squashed and not suitable to be given as a gift. The reply I got when I raised this and asked for a new box to be sent out was that they don’t cover packaging and I should re wrap it myself. Not what I expected at all. Why send out an item in a lovely box with a ribbon if you don’t want to include this as part of the item you are selling. I wouldn’t recommend if you intend to gift the items.
As a gesture of goodwill they offered a 50% off another purchase which to be honest is quite insulting and a bit cheeky as they are clearly just expecting me to buy again! Why would I do that when the original item arrived as it did! Just not for me I’m afraid! I have found other companies who provide wooden toys that arrive in great gift boxes so will use them instead!

Stacking coloured chunky wooden discs on a pole.
Amazing toy for my little neighbour - gorgeously made in wood and painted in vibrant colours. It is very engaging and teaches so many things through the joy of play - colours, size order, dexterity skills, stacking, patience and determination, sound gratification as the wooden parts click together... Black Friday Scam
In the Black Friday sale I purchased the popular fishing game that was on a “super deal” using the Black Friday discount code making it £15.40. The very next day I got an email saying the game was now £9.94 using the very same code making it once again on a “super deal”.
I wore an email to them which got ignored until I chased again and they replied
“Thank you for reaching out. Apologies but our discount codes are time sensitive.”
I’ve responded back to this email and have since heard nothing. It’s now been almost 2 months so I assume they are no longer going to respond. The most annoying thing was they sent me an email everyday with the new “super deals” showing me the fishing game as £9.94 and how time was running out for me to purchase on these great prices.

During our Black Friday promotional period, we had several overlapping offers running, including a 30% off sitewide code and daily flash promotions known as “Super Deals,” which were applied to specific items for a limited time only. These promotions were rotated and updated frequently throughout the sale period.
When you purchased the Fishing Game, the best available offer at that moment was 30% off the current live selling price. A couple of days later, the product was added to our Super Deal rotation, meaning its base price was temporarily reduced in addition to the discount code, which is why it was available for less shortly after.
We completely understand how this may feel frustrating, especially when you're eager to get the best possible deal. Like many retailers during high-sale periods, our discounts and pricing can vary over time and are always subject to change.
Apologies again if our previous replies felt dismissive, your feedback has been noted, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Poor quality and poor customer service
We received the Hammer wooden bench as a gift for our 1 year old daughter for Christmas. On opening, we noticed that the pegs fell easily through the holes so there was nothing to “hammer” through. I contacted customer service and after some back and forth was told that there was an issue with that product so even if they sent out a new one, it still wouldn’t work. However, they are continuing to sell this product on their website.
I was given a gift card to the value of the product. As this was a gift, I don’t know how much the person paid for it but the amount given was much less than what they are selling the product for on their website. I asked if they could give free shipping as if I bought a replacement toy, it would mean I would then have to pay for delivery. I was told no and was thanked for my understanding.
I have been a customer of Jaques for years and always thought their toys were of good quality. Sadly it seems they are not and customer service is also very poor. I won’t be shopping here again.
Edit: After I left this review, I had a call from Jaques. They explained there had been a misunderstanding with the customer service team and a new hammer bench (that worked) was sent out and I received it the next day. I really appreciated the call and the willingness to fix the issue and have updated my review accordingly.
