Ordered something that was different to the images shown on the web site product page. Was informed that the images are “just for display purposes only” and didn’t even get an apology or a message that the images had been updated. So lesson learnt, but I wasted money on something that is not what I ordered and then had to buy elsewhere and wait longer to get it.

Took some Goodyear Eagle tyres to be fitted, they couldn't do it so instead they put some middle of the range Vitoria tyres on but charged me premium price. First and last time I'll be using JE James.

After long running issues with frame bearings and a few other problems Adam sorted a new bike replacement.We decided to go for another bike manufacturer and we did a transaction to swop,Adam sourced bike at Barnsley store which we’re able to pick up Saturday afternoon,the staff were exceptional and good hopefully trouble free riding cheers Adam and both shops!!

I brought a gt avalanche this week rode it for 2 days and the right pedal fell out and the threading is completely ruined where it fell out It was a £700 bike reduced to £390 which you dont expect and when I phoned them and said I wanted a replacement bike or have it fixed I got told it wasn't covered on the warranty which is disgusting especially paying that much money for a bike and now I have to pay out to get a new part and then pay out to get it fitted and fixed and also the gears slip when riding the bike to and I've also now gotta wait a while to get paid from work to then sort this issue out as I spent all my money on this bike and that was to get me to and from work and also to see my children and this is what i get for paying out that much money and also terrible customer service took ages to get through to anyone and then rushed off the phone being told its not there issue and not covered on the warranty I feel I've been robbed of my money never again would I buy off this company and I advise anyone else looking to buy off them not to incase your unlucky and have a problem like me they won't resolve it so bare that in mind

Bought a mirider today from j e James Barnsley. Top class service and very friendly, went the extra mile despite it nearly being closing time. Awesome service.

The Bike arrived very well packed. Protected against the evil delivery companies, whose goal is to make sure anything that passes through their hands is damaged in some way when it arrives. All the parts were there with a check sheet. The bike was put together with even the tubeless tyres assembled and pumped up. I am very pleased. I will be definitely buying from JE James again.

My partner ordered some products on Monday just after 1pm. Called Wednesday morning as it still has not been dispatched. Spoke to someone from mail order (happy to name the person if needed) I explained my partner had ordered the products and that they are yet to be dispatched and is needed for a comp in this coming Saturday. He was extremely patronising stating we are to blame for not looking at the website properly and it states a dispatch date when ordering. I explained my partner ordered this while she was at work and that I do require the items by Saturday, will this be dispatched by then. His response and tone was not an acceptable approach to customers. I have been a previous customer of JE James Cycles and will unlikely be ordering from these guys again due to this experience.

Bought a bike last year for myself, very helpful and no pressure to buy, went back yesterday and bought one for my daughter, a pleasure to deal with and very helpful.

Great service by the Chesterfield Service Team with my old MTB. It needed a full new drivetrain but with the bike being 10 years old and replacement XTR parts now no longer available, it caused a few headaches. However, the team (mainly Gavin (and Steve I think)) could not have been more helpful offering great advice, spending time sourcing alternate replacement solutions and keeping me updated throughout. I obviously had to leave the bike with them for a week or so but this was expected and explained to me when I visited. I've waited to do the review until I'd been able to go for a test ride with the new parts. Pleased to say it's absolutely fantastic and I couldn't be happier.

I bought a kickstand for my brand new mountain bike which cost thousands. The supplied bolts mashed up like plasticine and would not tighten. I have tried a bolt removal tool with a view to fitting bolts of an adequate standard however I am not able to remove the bolts. I am a fully qualified tradesman with over 40 years experience and this product is simply not fit for purpose. It took forever to arrive in the fist place. I wrote to you via email but nobody has bothered to respond. I have tried ringing but nobody answers and the answrmachine message goes on loop. My only option is to cut the kickstand away from the cycle thereby destroying it but it is the only way to remove it. Had your company bothered to speak to me maybe this could have been discussed however I you leave me with no choice. I would be grateful if you can send me a new stand and I will simply throw the substandard bolts away and use my own quality ones. I will supply the order reference number so that you can replace it. I have taken the liberty of making video evidence of the issue and would be happy to send this to you if you have the capability of receiving a comprehensive video.

I have to say that I initially gave 1 star only. However despite being a bit slow the company have taken a sensible approach and resolved this to my satisfaction. For this reason I have altered my review to read 4 stars as it is only fair to reflect on the overall action
