Disappointing claims handling
I have held a Medicash Health Cash Plan and recently submitted a claim for a Sports Massage, which is a benefit covered under my Level 1 policy.
Although I provided an invoice showing the treating practitioner’s name, qualifications, professional membership number and details of the treatment, my claim was declined because Medicash could not verify the practitioner’s qualifications and requested a copy of the therapist’s Sports Massage certificate.
Unfortunately, despite repeated requests, the treatment provider has been unable to provide the additional documentation requested by Medicash.
What has disappointed me is that the claim was declined rather than Medicash contacting the treatment provider directly or advising what alternative evidence would be acceptable. As a policyholder, I have found myself caught in the middle of a dispute over documentation that only the provider can supply.
I have now raised a formal complaint with Medicash, which has been acknowledged and is currently under investigation. I hope the matter will be reviewed fairly and resolved promptly. If it is, I will happily update this review to reflect the outcome.

Update 27/7/26 - thank you for processing my request swiftly. I still maintain your trust issues in my claim were upsetting. - Annoyed is not the word. I sent over an invoice for a claim, but thats not good enough, it has to be a reciept! Clearly its me and I had treatment, I paid the invoice or I wouldnt have sent it. I had to ask for a reciept from the dentists to send. Guess what I have to submit a new claim!!! Piss me off if im honest, l3st see how long they stall this time!

Thank you for your review and feedback. The main reason this claim will have been declined is due to the fact that invoices can be issued without having paid for treatment yet.
If the claim was submitted with the invoice and a credit/debit card receipt to show proof of payment, this would have been acceptable.
