Should be able to leave minus star…

Should be able to leave minus star review. Trains are dirty and late. Staff on trains and call centres rude.

Plus I'm unlucky enough to live near the railway. Network rail currently down trees by the side of the track and damaged trees/fence in my garden. No warning or apology. Rude and arrogant throughout. Network rail continue to make excessive noise throughout the night without warning, this includes swearing from track gangs.

Network Rail (our "Railway neighbours"…

Network Rail (our "Railway neighbours" - my, that makes me feel good). We have two level crossings in our village. Both of them have notices beside them saying Network Rail contractors must not park next to them. Well, that worked. All day today (Sunday) we had a contractor called "Ganymede" with their vans parked on the (only)pavement with engines running (against the law, FYI Ganymede). Repeated complaints to the Network Rail "helpline" were no use. The nuisance stopped only when Ganymede went home at the end of their shift. Thanks Ganymede. I hope someone parks outside your house all day running a diesel engine.

Lazy & noisey

For the second consecutive night these idiots are sat playing games on phones, Diesel engine running for hours sat outside my flat window whilst shouting!

3 hours last night and an hour already today, have complained but still sat playing.

Police next, I wonder how much they get paid per hour to do nothing other than keep people awake at 3am?

Loud noise pollution relating to…

Loud noise pollution relating to Barking station, everyday it is pretty horrendous ! every one second making announcements that are unnecessary, its such an uncomfortable place and make your ears deaf! cannot talk to other people without shouting , people don't have to be constantly reminded what to do, every one second its almost impossible to absorb everything in, its a shame in our modern age we have to put up with such chaotic environment, why don't they follow examples of airports like Dubai they clearly state on information board to avoid noise pollution they don't make too many announcements.

I would like to thank the Network Rail staff for being so nice

I would like to thank the Network Rail staff for being so caring and friendly. I took my almost 3 years old grandson to Manchester from St Helens Junction on 20 September 2017. The young man in the ticket office wrote a "Ticket to Travel" with a smiley face so he didn't feel left out not having a ticket. He cherished it the whole journey showing it to every member of staff and still has it. All of the rail staff were really nice making it a day to remember. Most of the engine drivers gave him a wave when passing and some a little toot. One driver let him have a quick look at the cab and the man on the platform blew his whistle. He had such an exciting time I took him to Liverpool today, 25 September and we were met with the same caring attitude. Thank you Network Rail staff for making Jamie's day one to remember.

For disabled it is hopeless

For disabled it is hopeless. No lifts, no wheelchair availability. If it were not for Virgin Trains I would not have got anywhere. No parking for trolleys - expect to lose your pound. No way to book for disabled help online. Hated it! They should be ashamed of themselves.

Terrible in dealing with complaints - Complete lack of ownership

I first logged a complaint with Network Rail at the end of February 2014, as I felt that passing trains were causing vibrations to the house, on speaking to my neighbours, they both agreed that they were feeling more vibrations with the passing of the high speed trains that pass by our 3 houses. On approaching Network Rail they asked me to log all the details, with which I did so.

After a chase up using Twitter messages to them, I was advised that my complaint had been looked into and I would receive a response in writing. Which I did, as was to be expected it was the first in what has turned out to be a long list of fobbing of by Network Rail, saying they have been out to test the track and they could find no issues. No attempt to contact and inspect the houses to feel the vibrations. I persisted with my complaint and Network Rail finally agreed to send 2 colleagues out to inspect our houses. What a surprise, the day they arrived they were in the house for over an hour and no vibrations were felt. It was agreed that they would both re attend at a peak time so they could further assess the vibrations, this again so far has not yet happened. I have still persisted with my complaint, even resulting to speaking to the local paper and having a full story run on the matter, Network Rail still have no interest in inspecting, insisting that I must foot the bill to get an independent structural engineer's report ( at my own expense) to confirm that the trains are causing issues. Today I received the latest email from the so called community relations executive who has been dealing with my case which states:- Thank you for your email below and please find below your points clarified:

The mobile operation managers that attended site to carry out the inspection were there to determine if there were any issues with the track; they stayed on site for period of time and monitored several trains passing on our infrastructure.

The inspection was carried out on land next to the track as we do not have the authority to carry out an official survey at residential properties.

When the local media contacted our spokesperson they were informed that we had contacted our Geo Tech team to look into whether there were any concerns with the embankment here. There was no official report produced for this; as explained in my previous email we have examination regime carried out on the embankments here.

In regards to involving your insurance company, this is of course your decision and I only detailed this so you were aware that if you wanted to take this matter forward, we are unable to carry out a survey on your behalf.

I find it laughable that the Executive is sorry that her responses have not been detailed enough, of course I'm not happy the complaint has not been resolved and the 3 houses are still vibrating every time a high speed train passes by. I will now be taking it up to the head of contact and communities, however I still believe this will fall upon some very deaf ears also. Maybe once this is seen it might spur some action, although going on the developments so far I doubt it.
