Our family wizard has honestly been my saving grace during several particularly nasty months with my ex husband. Knowing that everything is documented, and able to be admitted into court is such a relief when dealing with an emotionally immature parent. The OFW tone meter has been also incredibly helpful in mediating how I'm spoken to and reducing disputes. Family therapists and lawyers can access the app when they need to, which has been paramount to keeping some people accountable to their actions.

If you're trying to co parent - you need our family wizard. It's the only thing that has allowed things to move forward in a neutral way for our family - even the customer support was amazing when we had a glitch, quickly and efficiently solving the issue.

I had such a terrible time trying to communicate with my ex before I found this platform. I was hesitant at first because it had been recommended by his solicitor but I did a bit of research and saw some people sharing about their experience on TikTok and I thought I would give it a go (they offered 30 day money back guarantee so I was running out of excuses not to) It’s changed the game for us. The ai tonemeter that redrafts my messages is the best therapy I’ve ever known and keeps my children shielded from a side of my ex and I we no longer recognized. For the first time in years we are both moving on with our lives and are able to focus on what our children need. If anyone is thinking about giving this app a try I would 100% say GO FOR IT. You have nothing to lose and a new life as a coparent to gain!!!

I have seen OurFamilyWizard help so many families. I work with a non-profit and see directly how the program assists with communication. It reduces conflict, keeps everything in one place, helps with documentation, and safeguards victims/survivors. I also love that they also have a fee waiver and military discount as well! It actually keeps families out of court it will save money in the long run and is in the best interest of children. A win-win for everyone!

It seem like information when a co'parent views the site at times is omitted....why? That's one sided.

Well they fixed it, but it didn’t last. All the expenses records have disappeared again. OFW claims to be “evidence level” in terms of its quality. Nothing could be further from the truth.

My ex-wife and I use - or rather try to use - OurFamilyWizard to coordinate 50/50 co-parenting of our children. Unfortunately, the app is riddled with bugs and unreliable to the point of being unusable.

The latest fiasco? Two weeks ago, they pushed out an “update” that appears to have wiped all of our shared records for children’s expenses. Gone. We’ve both had to revert to tracking expenses manually in separate systems, which completely defeats the purpose of using this app.

We’ve also abandoned OFW for day-to-day messaging and switched back to WhatsApp - because, unlike OFW, it actually works.

If this were a free app or a student side project, these failures might be understandable. But OFW is extremely expensive - and yet offers less stability and functionality than any free messaging platform.

Avoid this decrepit mess at all costs. The one silver lining? At least my ex and I now have something new we both agree on - how bad OFW is!

Review of Our Family Wizard – Disappointed and Frustrated

I had high hopes for Our Family Wizard as a co-parenting tool, but unfortunately, it has been a complete disappointment. Unless you already have a detailed parenting plan in place, this app offers little to no guidance or support. It essentially functions as a glorified calendar, and in high-conflict situations, it's practically useless.

There is no real mediation or intervention support, and if one parent chooses to control the narrative or communication, the app does nothing to prevent it. It doesn't help with resolving disagreements, and without cooperation from both parties, it becomes just another expensive app taking up space on your phone.

If you're in a high-conflict co-parenting situation, I strongly suggest going through the court system directly rather than relying on this platform. Save your money and your time — this app is not the solution it's marketed to be.

This has been a great tool to keep us on the same page. Keeps our kids removed from any issues we have as parents. All the resources we need to effectively co-parent together.

They are impossible to get hold of. Extremely expensive and never willing to assist. A organisation that prays on the unfortunate.

Out family wizard is the last place to go for help. They suck and have no way to ask them any questions. Make a password and that password is invalid no matter how many times you change it. Do not pay for this piece of sjit service. You're better off going to court and paying a lawyer. At least you'll get a resolution. Our family wizard is more like just give me money and please don't try and use me. The absolute worst. Good luck

My only complaint is that they have terrible customer service. We settled our case over a year ago. I canceled the app and they still charged my card. No I can't get my money back. Don't use it. They will bill you like a subscription that you can't cancel. You may have to cancel your credit card to get relief

OFW is terrible:

: US$100+ per year for a 3rd rate TXT/email service.

: Failed to send basic notifications telling me I had messages.

: Missed messages led to police and lawyer involvement.

: OFW's management of this debacle was despicable- ducking and diverting my communication, blaming my device (which gets notifications from every other FREE app), keeping my money and offering no satisfaction of any kind.

This is a flawed app and I would never reccomend to anyone.

Communication from the team is extremely poor and using it has worsened my relationship with my ex.

A very poor quality app and very expensive for what you pay for. I was told it was a good way to sort out a family divorce agreement. We use it for basic stuff. We log payments that are to be shared and the other party confirms payment. It's a shocking waste of money.

If I could give Our Family Wizard zero stars, I would. Instead of making communication easier, it makes it more frustrating, invasive, and unnecessarily complicated.

1. Absurdly Expensive for No Reason

The cost of this app is outrageous, especially considering it offers nothing that a free email account or messaging app couldn’t handle better. They charge a premium price for a product that feels like it was designed decades ago. Worse yet, they nickel-and-dime users at every turn—want notifications? Pay more. Need access to your own records? Fork over extra cash. It’s an outright money grab that preys on people in high-conflict co-parenting situations.

2. Designed for Control, Not Communication

Our Family Wizard does not foster healthy co-parenting—quite the opposite. It’s a tool often weaponized by controlling, manipulative ex-partners who use it as a surveillance and harassment mechanism. Instead of encouraging respectful dialogue, the system enables one-sided narratives, allowing one parent to flood the app with nonsense while making it painfully difficult for the other to respond in a reasonable way.

3. The User Interface Feels Like It’s from 1995

The app is slow, clunky, and incredibly unintuitive. Simple tasks take way too many steps, and basic functions like message retrieval or calendar updates are buried under layers of frustrating menus. It’s unbelievably outdated, making it feel like you’re using a government website from 20 years ago.

4. Customer Support is a Joke

If you have an issue, good luck getting any help. The support team is unresponsive, dismissive, and utterly useless. They hide behind legalese and canned responses, offering zero accountability for the app’s many failures.

5. The “Tone Meter” is Laughably Bad

The so-called “Tone Meter” is an absolute scam. It arbitrarily flags harmless messages while allowing passive-aggressive and manipulative communication to go unchecked. If you’re relying on this feature for conflict resolution, you’re in for a rude awakening—it’s about as accurate as a horoscope.

6. Courts and Lawyers Are Clueless About Its Failings

The worst part? Family courts and legal professionals continue to push this dysfunctional, predatory platform on unsuspecting parents. They assume it’s a neutral tool, when in reality, it’s a weapon for whoever is more adept at gaming the system. It’s time courts woke up to how much damage this app actually causes.

Final Verdict: Stay Far Away

If you’re being forced to use Our Family Wizard, document everything and be prepared for constant frustration. This app is nothing more than a cash grab, wrapped in a veneer of legitimacy, and it actively hinders co-parenting rather than supporting it. Do yourself a favor and look for better alternatives—or at the very least, use it with extreme caution.

This app is a complete waste of money driven by the lawyers. FIGHT against being forced to use it. Every year I am required to use it I write the same app. Over $100/yr to send a text that I could send for free.

Total and utter crap in my opinion.

Time allocation does not have the granularity required to manage complex situations for example. L

It doesn't appear to offer anything much in the way of meaningful benefit over using other communication tools from what I could tell (email, WhatsApp etc) other than perhaps being in one place (though you submit your own evidence anyway and the court pack becomes the master evidence source in my case.

The sales pitch overplays the ability to use the info in court in the uk from what I experienced; uk court happily accepted WhatsApp screen shots in court packs as evidence in my case.

Costs an arm and a leg compared to other apps in my view.

It's cryptic to me at to why quite so much faith appears to be put on this app by the British court system - it feels like an easy thing to instruct, but I didn't see any improvement in behaviour whatsoever, it was only recommended by the court rather than ordered; but it was immediately used to try and make claims for cash by my ex (despite explicitly excluding this aspect from the recommendation). In my view its' existence just became another thing that got used as a tool for manipulation and perception management. Without it, there would have perhaps been one less topic of debate and I'd have a few hundred quid more in my pocket to spend on the children.

Feeling exploited by the company

I signed up for Our Family Wizard in 2019 during a difficult separation and divorce, based on the recommendation of my parenting advocate. At the time, the flat-rate pricing seemed fair, and there was only one subscription option, so I agreed to use it as part of our court-ordered communication plan.

The app itself feels cheap and outdated, but it served its basic purpose. I didn’t mind the lack of features because the pricing was reasonable, and it met our needs. However, in 2024, I encountered a sudden and frustrating issue that completely changed my opinion of the platform. While trying to attach a simple screenshot of a bank transaction, I was met with an error stating I was out of disk space and needed to upgrade my plan.

This came as a complete shock. There was never any prior warning about file limits, nor was this limitation disclosed when I signed up. I’m court-mandated to use this app until my children are 18—another 13 years—and the last thing I expected was to be pressured into paying more money for a service that was supposed to be low-cost and straightforward.

I contacted customer support, hoping for a resolution, but their response was appalling. They told me I had no choice but to upgrade my plan and pay more. I explained that I was never notified about storage limits and requested help in freeing up space since users can’t manage files themselves. The support rep refused to remove any files or offer alternatives. Their only solution was to pay more money.

This feels like blatant exploitation of a captive audience—parents who are court-ordered to use the app and have no other choice. What started as a low-cost solution has turned into a money grab, with arbitrary limits and no transparency.

I feel taken advantage of and deeply regret agreeing to use this platform. If you’re considering Our Family Wizard, I strongly recommend looking for alternatives or avoiding it altogether. This app’s business practices are disappointing, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.
