Software is slow, it requires a lot of data. The mobile app does something everytime you open the app (before logging in) that consumes a lot of data and spikes cpu use. I basically have to be on wifi to use the mobile app. The lack of copy and paste functionality in the mobile app makes use of the BIFF model almost impossible and empowers the parent with more time to create narassistic strife. The user interface is not intuitive. This software is extremely frustrating to use and does nothing more than create a 3rd party wasting money that would be better spent on my children.
In my opinion the only reason why anyone uses this software is because of the court orders to do so. In my opinion this software is a total waste of time and money.
OurFamilyWizard is an application for high conflict divorces. It is meant to provide a bunch of features to help communication and keep an expenses register. They did a recent upgrade and all of the registry of expenses data became corrupt and no one has called to fix this. It’s so corrupt that all of a sudden it shows I owe my coparent $5000 out of the blue after years of it showing I’m paid up. This is a legal piece of software. do not waste your money. It’s the worst application I have ever used. I called them a week ago and still nothing. it inverted who owes whom what. Can you imagine? Absolutely the worst piece of software. A Google sheet is better than this.
Horrendous. I’ll keep posting these until someone gets back to me.
This site, forced on you by municipalities, dissuades actual communication and continues animosity and hostility between co-parents. I am willing to bet municipalities receive kickbacks from this for profit website. It should be illegal and should be shut down. Despite the date I have been strapped to this website for 8 years. It is Our Family Lizard.
Error pron software, and SUBPAR customer service. How are they still in business? Look to your court system, people. Shame them, and their biased psychologists! Refuse to use this app! Your money should not be stolen from you!
I have been forced by the Australian Courts, and some misandrist psychologist (in their infinite wisdom, what a joke) to use this terrible, disgusting excuse for for an app. They are targeting an audience that require honest help.. 'Our Family Wizard' are criminals, for taking advantage of people like they do.
I still haven't been able to complete the registration yet. That's right.. I still haven't even passed registration, to pay the exorbitant amount of USD$120. The errors I have have encountered, while following their instructions to activate my account are unfathomable, and customer service will not return emails.. Absolutely disgusting!
Fight for your right, don't use this app, refuse to use this app, use a tried and true medium instead.
Power to the people!
Why oh why does anyone use this dated piece of software and pay for the pivilege, when Microsoft Outlook (both desktop and 365) and Google do this much better and for free!!? Of course it's because legal professionals like to raise this in the family court and the judge (whilst never having used OFW and probably of an age when everything was done on paper) believes unknowingly that anything will facilitate better communication. Offering something in court is seen as being proactive and hence this will be jumped upon by the judge. I became so frustrated with the OFW experience that I started keeping a log (apologies if it's not very well written - these were quick notes made whilst struggling with OFW)...
• Can’t check that the correct attachment has been included in a new message by reopening it to confirm.
• Can only have one message in view at a time.
• Notifications not granular enough, which creates OFW spam (i.e. every single action in the app by the other party) if you want to be informed of new messages.
• Have to sign in every time. I click the link in the notification which takes me to the login page. I have to navigate to the login page and enter my login. I then have to navigate to messages (which defaults to sent messages and not your inbox!?) to read the messages – i.e. way too many clicks, thus discouraging you to check your messages.
• Other party can create a event which should have been previously agreed by both parents. However this created event is viewed in OFW as a confirmed event, which only the event creator can change – i.e. whoever creates an event first can choose their dates without the agreement of the other party. This gives ultimate power to a controlling resident parent.
• Cannot include third parties in email correspondence without creating an OFW account for them. Thus providing the opportunity for a parent to manipulate and filter communication to exclude whom ever ought to be included (think of only being able to send and email to someone with an OFW account and not being able to include them via an email adress). Receiving party has to forward the OFW correspondence to the third party via email.
• New message editor:
o allows no formatting of text such as colours, bold underline etc
o Message reading window is only about 40% of the screen width and 60% of screen height thus more scrolling around to read.window cannot be maximised, thus the editor window is too small for long correspondence.
• Messages grid
o Does not highlight selected row. This means opening a message and then closing to view the previous message requires that you have to “remember” the previously opened message
o Have to open and close messages – ie no reviewer pane
• Cannot forward sent emails (eg to maintain thread and to send a msg to the recipient before they have responded) to the original recipients.
• Can’t paste a screenshot/picture into messages.
• App does not work if no internet connection – i.e. cannot read messages.
• Not able to easily compose a message whilst reading the message thread – can only do this by scrolling up and down between the message you are composing and the message thread.
• Cannot flag messages to be responded to.
• Keeps logging off.
• Exporting calendar can only be done via sending to an email address and not by downloading to your PC.
• Cannot zoom message text. I get round this by copying the message into Word.
• Cannot group messages by conversation, thus all messages belong in an unorganised bucket making it easy to miss something.
• Calendar export appears to export the wrong dates!!? This is a big issue as I was previously exporting from OFW and then importing into Google calendar. This allows me to have my own personal calendars inline with the OFW calendar in Google and/or export dates to other family members. This all went horribly wrong when I discovered that the events exported by OFW can be incorrect (perhaps due to multiple schedule edits - although I have no evidence of this). Thus the user is tied to using the OFW calendar UI and having to compare this to another calendar app, instead of seeing all dates in one calendar.
Do yourself a favour and avoid OFW at all costs (if you can that is as the judge may order it and then you're stuck with it)
Customer services opened only from 13 to 16 and took 10 minutes to answer the phone. I do not understand what this app offer more than other free services. Extremely expensive for what it is. The website is slow. This is just another tool to take money form parents. I am not sure why solicitors recommend this. They clearly have never used it!
With all of the reviews, you would think OFW is a great tool to use for communication with your ex.
Unfortunately it doesn't stop your ex from harassing you, calling you names, etc. so, there's really no benefit unless you have a really good attorney that's willing to fight and use the words against your ex in court.
Unfortunately there is no option for zero stars. I used this service for a year after getting a court order stipulating child care arrangements for my daughter. My ex and I were only using it for messaging, but the experience of using a dated app that cost £158 per year was entirely underwhelming. When it came to renew the subscription my bank - Lloyds - refused to pay because it transpires OurFamilyWizard do not comply with the new Strong Customer Authentication regulations regarding online payments and therefore are not following the latest fraud prevention guidelines. My bank explained that they would not make a payment to them. I tried to find a resolution with OurFamilyWizard but was told it wasn’t their problem and I had to find another method of making the payment. They were not interested in the slightest that I was without the service specified by the court as sole method of communication between my ex and I. The customer service experience has been terrible for what is a overpriced and dated product. I have now signed up with another service. Do yourself a favour and steer well clear…
They promise a refund if you cancel within 30 days, i cancelled within 1 one hour of paying and still being fobbed off about a refund.
I am done. Useless site. I have to authenticate my fingerprint periodically? Why? I have used finger print to get into Google for years. But a few months after starting to use OFW I have to sign in with username/password because they need to confirm my fingerprint is still mine? Wow. So I do not recall the login information and I request it. No code came to my phone. So now they want me to contact them, for a simple sign in! Yeah right! At this point, you can fluck right off! As of today I will never use OFW again.

OFW is just an overpriced 1990's version of yahoomail. In the almost 7 years that I have used this "communication tool" I have seen no updates to the grossly outdated system.
The messaging service doesn't support proper message threads. If you need to communicate solely through the tool, it becomes very difficult to manage over time. The only acceptable word I can currently think of to describe it is clunky. I've never even used the calendar, medical, and expenses section. I attempted to set them up... but after several frustrating issues with exporting files and dates I gave up. So, between the two of us... our co-parenting family pays about $200 a year for an extremely crappy email system.
Customer service is unbelievably bad. I've had customer service issues since my initial sign up, but my most recent experience was the worst. In March my subscription ended and I received a renewal notice. My bank was charged the annual fee shortly after. The withdrawal cleared, and I have proof of this transaction. My co-parent and I don't communicate often... so it isn't out of the ordinary to go a few months with no OFW messages. In May I received a text message from my co-parent asking if I had received any of his recent OFW messages because he noticed that they had not been opened or responded to. I had not. When I tried to log into OFW I received a message that my membership had expired and I needed to renew. I called customer service. The representative I spoke with was not able to address the payment issue and forwarded me to her supervisor. The call immediately went to voice-mail. I left a message explaining my issue, gave account info, and contact info. I waited almost a week before calling back. Again, the representative could not help with my payment issue and forwarded my call to her supervisor... and it went to voice-mail. I repeated my previous message, and let them know this was my second call. No response. In June, my co-parent decided to renew my account membership. After he informed me of the renewal I requested the name of the representative and date that he contacted OFW. I called back and a representative informed me that no representative with the name given worked for OFW and that no record exists of my co-parents call. I believe he did call. Once again, I was forwarded to the same voice-mail. I left another message. It's been over a month, and after several more attempts I still have not received any contact from OFW.
Do not agree to OFW in mediation or court until you've done your own research. In my opinion OFW deserves their low rating. I've discovered over the years that other free apps are available for co-parenting. Most have good reviews. Unfortunately, my co-parent has been duped into believing this is the only communication tool the courts will accept. Do not let your lawyer manipulate you into believing that other communication tools, personal email and texts can't be utilized in court if necessary. I've had plenty of lawyers assure me they can. You should also know that OFW has a referral program for lawyers. Lawyers receive $50 for every client that signs up. Consider your child's age... $200 a year adds up... find a free app for your co-parenting family and save all of that money for your actual child/children rather than this overpriced scam. This is just another way for lawyers to drain money from divorced families.

I am into my second year now and I pay for my co parents subscription too. The option is there for him to use to compare the at anytime.
This is a better way in terms of tools and conflict management as we have been divorced for 2 years.
Sadly, he still wants to fight and refuses to use this. My ex continues to send letters to my Lawyer so I incur costs. Our Family Wizard and mediation is my answer to combat this endless conflict.
This tool has everything you need to co parent in a professional and reasonable manner. Its simple and easy to use, and I share moments, expenses, emails, and I am about to upload the agreed parenting schedule through mediation.
I can keep all my documents and logs and opt for sharing or private entries.
It’s a great way to arrange things and for document control out of your inbox.
There is an app on my phone and I highly recommend this along with countless parents, professionals and family law experts who have all publicly provided reviews.
I have spoken to customer service on 3 occasions who have sent me logs on request and been helpful. My experience was positive.

Research and read all the horrible reviews about this company before giving them your money. My cancellation request never went through and i was told their staff doesn’t make mistakes. They refused to give me my money back. They are not BBB accredited and need to be shut down.
This company is in the business of keeping divorced couples divided and at odds over the raising of their children. That it is ordered by the court is egregious and should be illegal. I should not have how I choose to communicate with my ex in regard to the raising of my children dictated by the municipal court, who I am sure are gaining financially from their partnership with this website. This website actually dissuades face to face interactions and believes email is a better way to deal with issues as important as the raising of one's children and profits from it with their archaic, outdated website that actually endorses the violation of one's privacy by endorsing the invitation of outsiders to view correspondence between an ex and their ex spouse. This website should be investigated to ascertain if they are paying municipalities to hawk their services to 'non-custodial parents' as part of a court order, that cannot even afford them and then shut down on that basis. I was threatened with incarceration for not using the website. That's a very positive way in which to get someone to endorse one's product, 'If you don't use the website we have told you to use you will be incarcerated until such time as you find it reasonable to utilize the website in question.'
