Overdales: The faceless company, relying on bullying and not giving a straight answer.
We were contacted by Oversales in June 2024 about an account with EDF Energy.
The account related to energy usage at a premises in Birmingham which we had vacated on 23rd June 2023, having informed EDF on that day of a final reading, having given notice to cancel our account.
EDF did not respond to our request for a final settlement, which we estimated and settled on 24th July 2023. We made repeated requests for a final bill and a reconcilliation of our direct debit payments.
Nothing further was heard from EDF, including responses to our complaints for 12 months when we received a threatening email from Overdales.
We contacted Overdales with details of our account, including requests for information and to acknowledge payments made. Overdales were not able to acknowledge our payments to EDF.
We made an offer of a final settlement which was refused. We have been sent repeated threats of legal action, which we refute.
We have asked Overdales to PLEASE CEASE AND DESIST ALL CALLS AND CONTACT WITH US VIA EMAILS IMMEDIATELY.
We have incurred unnecessary expenses having sought advice which we shall endeavour to recover from Overdales.
To sum up; Overdales are using bullying tactics to extort funds from unfortunates.

Not Responsive to Reasonable Correspondence
Hard to work with. Sent them an offer of settlement and not even had a response rejecting it. Ignored my further emails which merely asked, politely, for a response or a timeframe for a response if they can’t deal with it now.
Strange to send letters that threaten legal action and then not deal with you in a fair manner as per their statutory obligation???? Ignoring appropriate and timely correspondence in light of their threat of pending legal action does not seem fair?? Or reasonable?

I was scammed when I was young in college, explained it to them and I don’t know what happened to it, 15 years later they are still on my case. They gave me a CCJ that I can’t even RENT or get ANYTHING finance. I struggled and paid £250 every month for 5/6 months and have a remaining £250 which apparently is not on my online account because Iv just gotten an email saying they will give me ANOTHER CCJ.
Please have some humility, the living situation in London is so bad. I went hungry for days to manage and pay it off and all for getting another CCJ and why is it not on my online account?

I think this company needs to be reviewed. Sounds like a scam, and they seem to prey on the vulnerable.

This "company" is a criminal…
This "company" is a criminal organisation specialising in fraud, extortion, and malfeasance.
In the case of these "solicitors", they are in-house, paid by LOWELL, to do nothing more than threaten gullible people.
I advise anyone who is paying LOWELL to stop! There is a registered complaint against them with the financial ombudsman.
They have no legal or lawful right to conduct their "business". No debt is being paid, Lowell and Overdales are collecting the money for themselves. If you doubt this get the book: The Title is Unimportant by P Michael Yates. Read it and fight back!
Regulated by the F.C.A? it was the F.C.A. that referred me to the financial ombudsman after reviewing my evidence. They told me that given the seriousness of the situation an independent investigation is required. Debt collection Agencies ARE criminal organisations.
I will leave a review here every time Lowell send illegal demands for money to my address, and of course after the ombudsman SHUTS THEM DOWN!
Having read your response; Horse sh1te! All you will do is to go back to an earlier point in your template letter cycle and start all over again. I have not and will not provide a phone number because of the six years of harassment you have inflicted on me.
After West Mercia police, I will be contacating the S.E.R with a view to getting you struck off!

Got a demand from Overdales for an…
Got a demand from Overdales for an amount supposedly still owed to an energy supplier on a commercial property sold last December. There were a number of meters, so it took a little time to finalise, agree and then pay the bill 5 months ago. Suddenly out of the blue an Overdales email demanding money still owed to the supplier, with no bill attached, just the threat of court proceedings.
So I wanted to phone to find what the demand related to. Guess what - an 0333 number.
- I'm not impressed, to say the least

Nosy bullies
Nosy, rude and threatening. I had a couple of issues with fraud from my account years ago, couldn't claim back money for everything spent, thought the issue had been dealt with years ago only to begin getting threatening letters, constant emails and phone calls from these people. Sent me into a real mental health spiral I could not keep up with the constant harassment wouldn't be able to make sense of an email before getting a letter or attempted phone call. I have accepted that the things I couldn't claim back I would just have to pay to get them off my back, got in touch to be bullied into working out my monthly spending on the spot just to work out a payment agreement, of course when working things out off the top of my head (given no time to look at all my bills) I got some things wrong, phoned back today to make the agreed payment on the agreed date, made the person aware that I had gotten my mental calculations wrong and I was met with rudeness and flippancy, judging me for what I earn and what my bills and living costs come to. The phone call is hard enough to make and sit through as is no need to make it more embarrassing when someone has worked up the nerve to push through and cooperate. Felt like I was being interrogated and just well bullied. Quite often in situations like these the people you are dealing with are struggling with mental health issues (largely due to you to begin with in my case at least) it would not hurt to keep in mind due diligence and duty of care.

Brand new contract for phone. These spam artist kept calling child's phone and now we blocked number they keep texting.

Ghastly firm
Ghastly firm. I was the victim of a fraud on an Argos card. I believed the matter to be settled only to start getting threatening letters from Overdales. Despite getting in touch with them and informing them of the particulars of the case, they continue to send threatening letters and haven't managed to bother investigating or taking up the matter with Argos. Both ineffective and incompetent.

Got a letter to say I owe Vodafone
Got a letter to say I owe Vodafone, ignored this tripe. They kept going on with letters, so I emailed asking for proof, they gave some dates, a year, account number and a mobile number. I tried to log in using those details on Vodafone but didn't work. I then went on Vodafone chat which was helpful, explained the situation and as she was unable to log in with the details from them either, she then told me a hint for security information perhaps that would help- which it didn't, she asked me my favourite colour and my sisters- I replied I don't have a sister! Gave my fav colour still nothing. She was getting suspicious so she asked her manager then they've escalated it as fraud to their fraud team as she said it looks like a third party is involved and they want to help.
Email reply from Overdales said they are not obliged to ask their client (Vodafone) for any further proof as me not responding to them admits I owe it (hahahaha). So I've now told them everything is on hold and they're to speak to their client as it's now being reported as fraud and they will be in touch. This was followed by a generic email they are busy and might take 10 days to respond (take as long as you like, il also take 10 days to respond also from now, due to high volume of emails ;)
No need to send a copy and paste reply Annie, Complaints Manager- spend your time replying and being useful to emails instead of rigorously going through trustpilot, that's your priority.

Trusted collections company I've known for a good long while.
Easy to understand what's owed, when to pay & what is outstanding.
Never had a problem via control panel web login to maintain & pay amounts.
Polite customer services when I've contacted them for various reasons to clarify queries.

Terrible Experience with Overdales Legal
I am utterly shocked and appalled by the way Overdales Legal has handled my case. They accused me of an incident that allegedly occurred in 2019, but I wasn’t even notified until 2022. Without any fair warning or opportunity to resolve the issue, they went ahead and charged me, and now they have taken the drastic step of freezing my accounts until 2028.
This is beyond unacceptable. Blocking someone’s accounts for six years over a matter that wasn’t properly addressed or communicated is not only unjust, but it has also caused me significant financial distress. The lack of transparency, fairness, and professionalism from Overdales Legal is truly disgraceful. I strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with this company, as their practices are absolutely unreasonable.STAY AWAY

By the looks of things they just reply with the same response on all reviews, not wiling to resolve anything just want to take take take your money. Had zero contact before they put their charges on as well, calling me a liar. They're willing to put people into bad situations just for a couple of quid.
