Loaded with ads. 3-4 minutes of watching a show, then a 3 min ad. Rinse and repeat. I'd never pay $7.99/mth for this.

Shudder is intended to be a streaming service that caters to horror movie fans. It fails to recognize that this audience loves classics as well as new original content.
Horror fans are collectors and will buy DVDs still in 2026. They dint understand that this is their audience and physical media is their competition.
They no longer have a horror host (Joe Bob was canned) and should learn a lesson from old EC that horror is a community. They still have time to revamp this service to be something that us exceptional but fir now: CANCELLED

Terrible. The interface is horrible. Can't find movies that I know are playing. Takes two people 20 minutes to get Joe Bob to start playing then keeps autoplaying movies you don't want to see.

Overall nothing there to watch except Joe Bob and even then the interface ruins it.

Horrible selection of movies. I love campy movies myself but these are just awful. Tried getting a subscription a few years ago as well to see what the hype was, but it was terrible even then. I've also seen many people say that after canceling their free trial (before it was over) they were charged for an annual membership. Very scummy. Never getting a subscription from Shudder again.

The movie collection is terrible. B movies everywhere. 70s films you could care less about. Independent projects that should have been stopped before they reached post-production. Pure drek. There are free movie websites that offer similar or better movie choices than this dead-end site. F

I was super excited when I saw that Tales from the Crypt had been added and signed up for a free trial that I ended up canceling a few days later. I was able to watch one episode of it without issue. The ads, which occurred randomly and frequently, kept freezing and I was unable to watch anything. I tried restarting the app, the tv, clearing the cache, etc and nothing worked. My other streaming apps worked fine. I remember when the whole idea behind streaming was that it was more attractive than cable because you weren’t forced to watch commercials but now I have to pay for a premium package just to be able to watch a show…why bother?

I had a problem with this company charging me without my knowledge. I complained directly to the company and via Better Business Bureau. The company was immediately responsive and refunded my money a year after collecting it. It is not possible via the website to seek redress, so email support(at)shudder.com

The selection of movies and shows is fine. A lot of B horror films, which I knew going in. My issue is it is a SCAM! I cancelled my account twice and they continued to charge me. They do not send a confirmation email when you cancel so I couldn't prove it, but the second time I went through the process I took a picture of the screen that said I cancelled it. But they continued to charge me. I had to call customer service where they said "they don't usually issue refunds." I did get one month payment back, but it should have been more.

Great content, terrible app and even worse customer service. they continuously misplace the email address for my user account, instead continuing to save it as my years old graduate email despite MANY emails from me to their customer service where they claim its been switched over. Now I am locked out of my account and they are claiming my account is not under my email. I am done being a customer after joining at the start and carrying a yearly subscription for almost a decade.

Poor choice of selection. Did a 7 day trial, obviously had to add my debit card details. Then once I searched the whole app and didn't watch a single movie. I went to cancel and sure enough, the app was updating FOR DAYS! And couldn't cancel... Look if your into neo noir or side hustle horror it's a go.

They have quite literally tried to charge my card over 15 times after I attempted WAY MORE THAN ONCE to cancel my subscription and whole account in general. The movies are good, but they're incredibly money hungry. I'm pretty sure they're controlled by Satan or something at this point......Anyway, I had to block them on email and get a whole new card so they would stop charging me! Very recently, I somehow got an email from them....Again! 1000000000% do not recommend.

Very poor selection of movies, with many not even in English. Updates on average only one new movie a month.. multiple times the app locks you out, won’t let you back in until to change your password - then fails to send link to update.. keep charging with no access. It’s a joke, then when you want to cancel subscription they make it impossible. Stay away.

Very old customer due to reactivate service

I'm in Australia, recently playback will not work on ANY of the android apps on my devices. I have performed all the troubleshooting ideas, and still it won't work. Nothing has changed with my network. I emailed Shudder support with details that they asked for. They said "We're working on it" then nothing. All my other streaming services work perfectly. Still getting playback errors. And I'm paying for not having a service. I give it another day or so then I'm unsubscribing. Having researched it, this is not a new problem. Disgusted.

I gave Shudder a chance just to see what all the hype was about, and to be honest, I was really disappointed. Shudder's library of horror movies are very limited, and most horror movies that you can watch on Shudder, are already free to watch on Tubi instead. Shudder's monthly or yearly subscription isn't worth it. As a massive horror fan, I personally recommend Tubi over Shudder.

Honest review no bias. Most titles cannot be streamed outside of the US, not worth the haste of VPN. 98% of all the titles on the site are so bad that they can’t even be watched as joke or something along those lines. Just don’t bother save your money spend it on literally anything else.

First time creating account, then signed up for the 7 days free trial on the app. Right then I canceled the subscription after 3 mins since the movie I've wanted is not there. Shocked I was charged for $95 right away for 1 year subcription. Contacted customer service but they just said can't do anything. Disputed it with apple and got refunded. Don't fall for their scam!
