Dimmable within certain limits. Every now and then it emits a burst of light and only then returns to normal brightness.
And the color? Amber? To me, it looks like warm white with a slight hint of amber. I have another truly amber LED, but unfortunately it's not dimmable.
I'm not satisfied.

Avoid at all costs – left out of pocket due to their mistakes!
Very poor experience with Simply Sound & Lighting.
I paid £8 for priority next day delivery on a Chauvet Hex DJ light (B stock) for a gig and left work early to receive it. It arrived damaged with a dented / jammed cooling fan and broken bits could be heard within the unit. The outer packaging was fully intact, yet the inner box torn and damaged proving that it existed before dispatch and had not been checked. The item also arrived incomplete as it was missing a UK kettle lead entirely.
Customer service’s solution was unacceptable: I provided evidence of the damage but was told I would have to place a second order, pay priority delivery again, and also pay more for a brand new unit given that they had run out of B stock. I was told that I would not receive a refund of the first unit until I had re-packaged and sent it back.
With no other choice I committed however seeking a fair solution, I requested a refund on the £16 postage costs given that I had paid twice and not received a fully working item until two days after the initial order. Simply Sound & Lighting refused this and also failed to acknowledge the inconvenience and time spent repackaging and returning their faulty item. There was zero empathy regarding the financial strain from having to purchase a second item at full price and priority postage fees twice.
When requesting a point of escalation I received an AI drafted response to justify no further refund would be considered. I emailed several times after this only to get ignored completely.
Poor quality control, poor customer service, and zero accountability. I would not recommend them to anyone who needs reliability.
Having now read the Facebook reviews, faulty / damaged items and poor customer service are clearly a common theme!

Great light but some reason dmx 20 channel mode is not working all the other modes work fine, bright light with some retro shapes and you can make your own custom ones, perfect for what I needed it for, fast delivery too

Firstly there was a stock issue with the items I had ordered, however SS&L called me immediately and offered to ship an alternative (better) product in the same timeframe at thier own expense.
Having received the order, one of the 4 units was not quite the same spec as the other 3 and again SS&L customer service team leapt into action and replaced the item in question very promptly and very efficiently.
We must all accept that occasionally things can go wrong but it’s how these things are put right that really matters and SS&L simply delivered 1st class customer service at every stage and I can’t praise this firm highly enough and would recommend them above any other online retailer. Thank you SS&L!

Normally we would use Gear for Music when making purchases for lighting and sound equipment but on this occasion I decided to shop around and go with Simply Sound and Lighting.
An order was placed on Thursday 13th November 2025 for equipment valued at over £3,500. This included a discount, which was the reason we decided to go with them.
The website for Simply Sound and Lighting presented a professional image and was easy to navigate but unfortunately this did not reflect the reliability or level of customer service provided on this occasion.
All items were listed as in stock and an additional fee was paid for Saturday delivery. A call was received the following day advising that the trusses included in the order could not be delivered on the Saturday and would instead arrive on Tuesday 18th November. It was also requested that the remainder of the order be delivered on that date, which we agreed to as from our perspective it was a more environmentally friendly option. At no stage was any stock issue or potential delay mentioned.
The significant problem was that the equipment did not arrive on Tuesday 18th November or in time for the planned event that weekend. It ultimately took three weeks for the full order to be received, arriving in multiple deliveries over that period, with the remaining items delivered on Tuesday 2nd December 2025. Although the equipment was delivered in good working condition, the lengthy delay and lack of communication overshadowed this. Multiple follow-ups with the sales team were required simply to obtain updates, highlighting a consistent lack of clear and proactive communication.
Suggested Improvements – Communication is Key
Simply Sound and Lighting could greatly improve their customer experience by ensuring stock levels displayed on the website are accurate, communicating any delays at the earliest opportunity and providing clear updates throughout the process without customers needing to chase for information. Setting realistic expectations and maintaining consistent communication would have prevented most of the issues experienced.
The overall experience was very disappointing and did not match expectations set by the website. The saving in cost was outweighed by the worry, stress and inconvenience caused by delays and poor communication.
For reliable, efficient and consistent service, Gear for Music remains the stronger choice.

Terrible complaint to deal with. Sold me opened second-hand products with missing parts. I emailed them to tell them of the missing parts but they reply and say they will send out replacements but failed to do so. Failed to give me a refund.
Avoid this company. Zero customer service.
