Horrible! Cancelled all races and refused to issue any refunds. They gave me a few weeks notice of the race I supposedly signed up for in 2020 abs the rules stated I had to be fully vaccinated to race. I will never sign up for another race ever again. Horrible customer service.

Paid for Super Spartan far ahead of time, received email less than a month prior to event with new rules regarding vaccine requirements, mask rules and no guests allowed. Completely changed expectations of what I had experienced at prior races with minimal warning. Could not reschedule or get refund due to "my tag had already been ordered." I will NEVER sign up for another Spartan and I know many other veterans who feel the same way from their own experiences.

Spartan Race are an absolute disgrace. I booked to race nearly 3 years ago now and they cancelled events offering no refund. Finally got offered a refund this year and it was meant to be paid by 31st October. Nothing paid and they've deleted my account and ignoring all my correspondence. Disgrace. I will be reporting to watchdog.

Booked a race for 20 people, the whole time being offered a 20% discount, until it got to the page for payment and then they despite saying it was 20% off (right at the top of the page) they didn't apply this discount. We have decided to email the customer services, requesting the discount that they wouldn't offer the group discount when booking. From what others have said, this is unlikely to result in a discount. If we don't, I'll update to let people know they'll scam you. If they do offer the discount, I'll bump them to 2 stars as this is ridiculous.

No phone number listed to call for bookings, and the website is absolutely atrocious. Could barely find information on the different races, and very little information on what is actually involved.

Edit: All of the above is still true, they did however admit their mistake and give the offered discount, after a bit of chasing.

This is a really bad business. They cancelled a race, then took 3 months to refund me, and shorted me 10 quid (booking fees). They don't apologise, or offer reasoning, either. I really would recommend avoiding these guys.

Ich kann jedem von diesem *****ß Anbieter warnen, das Rennen ist ausgefallen, man muss für das Ersatzrennen zusätzlich 30% begleichen - zum Glück gibt es andere Anbieter wie Xletix, bei denen das Rennen ohne Probleme und ohne zusätzlichen Kosten umgebucht werden kann. Wer so mit seinen Kunden umgeht, soll auch dafür bestraft werden. Aus meinem Umfeld wird definitiv niemand bei Spartan mehr ein Rennen buchen!

This business is horrible with customer service. I have tried contacting them multiple times and they never give you a straight answer. I recently was doing a live chat with them and they had no interest in giving me my money back for a race that is canceled and I paid $237 for. I went back on the site today to just lose out on the difference and sign up for a different race that is much less and my ticket is no where to be found at all on the site. I don’t know what to think. This is ridiculous.

I am extremely disappointed. Ordered my tickets in March, the race is in November-a total of 9 months out. We were preparing for this race, planning out the trip (8 hours away), getting everything ready...Then I get an email this week that says, vaccinations will be required for all racers participating in the spartan events. Along with this email, our tickets are to be either transferred to a future event or a new person. We bought our tickets in March. At the time of purchase, proof of vaccinations was not required. This was not disclosed to us at the time of purchase. Again, they are changing the terms of the agreement MONTHS after the purchase. Then I get an email back saying they cannot refund us due to the "no refund policy" and that given the unprecedented effect of COVID19 on the event industry, they are unable to make any exceptions....

The best part is if you did switch your tickets to a different race and it's less than what you spent on your original ticket it won't refund you the difference. You just lose that money.

Freaken money-hungry thieves. They clearly don't care about their customers.

Really bad customer service, they got back to me only a week later and totally didn’t understand what I was talking about. I requested a refund because I signed up to a race, which I thought was normal as any other, it’s outside, and it was covered in covid rules idiocy! Testing enforced, wearing a mask the whole time at venue even when you start running first 50metres, then put face mask on again when you arrive there after running, whilst you’re totally out of breath! That’s a recipe for disaster. Then you have to do another test when you get home. I’m sorry but every single marathon or race you go to this year has been outside too and none of this was needed. Spartan has gone massively idiotic and down hill. I will never go with them ever again and suggest other people also stop going and wasting their money on these clowns.

Wont give money back. Due to Covid - race has been changed. Have requested money back and they refuse saying they dont retun money under T&C

I love Spartan. Have run 30+ races with them and it has changed my life. Their support struggled when they laid off 90% of staff through the pandemic but that’s to be expected. Quality race, quality merchandise, fantastic experience.

Their policy of not issuing refunds, even with serious health issues (long covid) HAS to be illegal. I find it shocking that a company can operate like this. They deliberately make it near impossible to get in contact also.

Paid for an event that was cancelled due to covid & was suppose to get a flexi ticket - this did not appear on my account & there was no way to avail of another event despite having paid fully for an event that was cancelled.

I’m really not one for giving bad reviews, but If there is a company/organisation with worse customer service than Spartan, I have never come across them, and I’m 58. Their races are decent and well organised, but it is 100% pointless trying to contact them for anything at all. In the rare, and I really mean rare, occasions they may reply to you there will never be any empathy, consideration, thought or assistance in their reply. Avoid if possible.

I experienced what everyone else on here already described. No response from customer service.

I am an attorney and I am going to sue them. Its not about the money but the fact that they are getting away with it. I am also going to find out where their entity was organized and file a complaint in their State. I suggest you all do the same. No wonder they don't have a physical address, they are afraid someone would show up at their door.

FRAUD in multiple states- report to the FBI!

Extrêmement déçu des dirigeants et de la politique de remboursement "allez vous faire *****"de la spartan race.. Ce sont de vrai voleur.

Spartan München 2019 nur 70% Erstattung. Vor einigen Wochen den Spartan Kulmbach gebucht, der leider wieder abgesagt wurde und die einzige Option ist (mal wieder) umbuchen ins nächste Jahr. Habe die Zahlung glücklicherweise noch über die Bank zurückholen können. Deutlicher kann ein Veranstalter nicht zeigen, dass es ihm einzig und allein ums Geld geht! In Zukunft lieber Strong Viking und andere Formate.

Horrendous experience with this thieving company. Avoid like the plague.
