Took my 3 yr old to Spirit Halloween in…

Took my 3 yr old to Spirit Halloween in Freehold NJ last weekend and he had a blast! We were there walking around and checking everything out for 1.5 hours! That was the cheapest adventure out lol. We only spent $40 for his costume. My little guy is obsessed with Halloween and Jack Skeleton. Thanks again for making my 3 yr old happy...😊

Worst customer service!

If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered a black panther kids costume well in advance to Halloween for my son. While shipping was quick, the costume was missing the mask, which is one of the most important parts of the costume. I called customer services the same day the item arrived to inform them of this. The first representative I spoke to on the phone told me they would try to ship out a mask as soon as possible, but had no clue how long it might take and told me to give it about five days to get a response in an email. I waited seven days and never received a response or the mask, So I called back. I was on the phone with a guy for 40 minutes who kept putting me on hold, only to come back and eventually tell me there was nothing that they could do and that because it’s such a “Hot ticket item” they didn’t have any in stock to do a re-shipment and couldn’t tell me when they would be back in stock. He said someone would call me within the next two days. I informed him that I anticipated this to happen due to the lack of confidence the first representative had telling me I would receive a mask, so I ordered one off Amazon rather than waiting until everything was sold out and my son be left with an incomplete costume. I asked if they could reimburse me for the cost of this since they could not provide me with a complete costume and at the time I called and initially they still had costumes left, just in a different size, but the mask should be the same size. He told me to ask the representative that when they called me. Guess what? No call!! They have the absolute worst customer service ever, and it makes me never want to shop online with them again. Everyone is sold out of the costumes now unless I want to pay double. I’m very disappointed I paid full price for HALF a costume and had to purchase the mask from Amazon since Spirit Halloween couldn’t give me a complete costume. Horrible way to treat a customer!!!! Next year I’ll just go through Amazon. They have way better customer service if things go wrong!

They don't ship items in a timely…

They don't ship items in a timely manner. It says it will ship within 3 business days, but it has been more than a week. I contacted costumer service and their only response is there was an issue on their end and they won't ship it rush.

Updated to add it took 20 days to receive my order. I was told by multiple reps that everything was in
1 shipment. The items arrived in 2 packages almost a week after I was told they would arrive. I ordered backup costumes with 2 day shipping and they took 3 days.

I love spirit Halloween store it has…

I love spirit Halloween store it has the best props in Halloween costumes it always has everything I’m looking for to do my haunted house for Halloween. They have great customer service and if they don’t have it in stores, they will look online to make sure they can get it for you. I love the above and beyond about the store and will always shop here. Well recommended.

Best customer service experience ever

The review is not about my overall experience but about the experience I had with Mandy the Customer Service Rep. It's very rare that I have a pleasant customer service experience over the phone and this was one of the simplest and easiest experiences I've ever had. Mandy is excellent at her job and I am completely satisfied.

Not good customer service

Took my daughter into the Lacey, Washington store and she found this cute Oogie Boogie purse and so we went to check out and the register people were not the friendliest. One was in training so ok she didn't greet us or say anything, we showed her our coupon and she didn't know how to ring it up so her person training stepped in. He was awful, not polite and walked away before the register printed our reception. Like hey buddy your suppose to at least let the customer know it's ok to leave and hand the receipt over. Nope not this guy, customer service is lacking and employees seem like they just don't want to help you.

I am still waiting on status of my child's costume

If you read my earlier review, you know that I have had a few issues with Spirit Halloween's online shopping, The store experience has been outstanding! The online and especially the customer service has been... well. crappy. This is an amendment to my earlier review, just as something goes wrong i also believe it is only fair to comment when they turn it around and do the right thing. My issue was I was waiting for a Halloween costume that was lost by Fed Ex and the CS at SH kept telling me to try back each week. (Ordered on September 25) Well, my Sons Halloween party was rapidly approaching. Thursday the 17th of October to be precise. Once they agree that there was an issue and once they decided to replace the lost costume ( I had asked for a credit so i could drive 80 miles to a SH store, but they said NO) They shipped me a new costume that I was sure would never arrive on time. Well it arrived today October 16th. So I want to say that they made it right and although I will never order online from them again, I will continue to shop in store. (The closest store is 80 miles away) So thank you SH for doing the right thing.

Spirt Halloween doesn't tell you they ship by Fed Ex and if your Canadian you will be hit with additional fees , in my case my item end in cost that double the price with customs fees.

I ordered 2 costumes over a week ago

I ordered 2 costumes over a week ago. I paid for the most expensive shipping to get them this past Monday. Monday comes and no costumes. I've called every single day about my order. I live in Pa where the shipping started. It moved 2 places in Pa then went to Ohio then sat in Denver for 3 days and it's still there. They told me today that they were moving and on the way now I just received an email saying they are delayed and still sitting in Denver. NOT IMPRESSED with the company and what is going on especially for what I paid for everything. On top of that I had to go buy 2 other costumes because we were leaving for vacation today. Still no costumes for my kids.

Two orders. Two disappointments.

Update October 24th. I was talking to someone just after posting this. They said they’d send me a replacement mask. They then emailed me on October 18th to tell me they couldn’t find one to send me and I had two options. Keep the costume with an unusable mask and get a 25% refund. Or return it and my son still has no costume. I wouldn’t get a refund on the $50+ it cost for my friend to ship it to me I’m Canada. AND I can’t get a replacement costume for my son because there’s not enough time. Then on the same day October 18th, they emailed and said returns ended on October 18th. 🙄🙄🙄🙄 But I could exchange it at my nearest Spirit Halloween store until October 24th. My nearest store is a three day drive away. I’m beyond upset with the crappy service of this company and will NEVER do business with them again, and I will discourage others as well.

My son wanted a Deadpool costume for Halloween. I ordered it online in Canada and a couple of weeks later I still hadn’t received it and so I checked the tracking. For some reason it was returned to shipper before it even made it halfway to me. was in contact with a customer service representative who immediately gave me a full refund. Went to reorder it online because my son desperately wants this costume only to see it was no longer available in the size I wanted and no guarantees if it would be restocked.

I have a friend in Pennsylvania and she agreed to pick one ip for me at a store there. I ordered an online pick up for that store and she mailed it to me. Just got the costume and it’s defective. One of the eyes is sewn on upside down and is unusable. My only option now is to pay more money to ship it back and get a refund and my son is still out of a costume.

I’m never ordering from them again.

AND they won’t post my negative review on their website. So all the ratings are 5 star. That’s unfair to consumers.

Shipping cost

I ordered 2 items which were shipped to my home in Canada. I have just now received a bill from FedEx stating I owe $60 in shipping fees for that package.
I contacted Spirit Halloween to figure out what was going on, indicating I already paid the shipping fees which were calculated at the time of my purchase on their website.
Spirit basically said not their problem and to call FedEx and wouldn’t even let me speak to a manager to discuss further. FedEx is stating this was the fee to ship that package and Spirit should have been aware of this
The thing is Spirit, it is your problem (or at least it should have been) as a company you should have offered to pay for the additional shipping I was charged and reached out to FedEx to find out why your customers are getting charged extra so you can rectify this situation for future customers. I’m sure I can’t be the only one this has happened to.
I’ve also read the “shipping to Canada” policy on your website and no where (that I can find) does it indicate that there may be additional shipping costs
Not that it matters to you, or at least it doesn’t seem to, but you have lost a customer … but it’s just one right, so no big deal

Store number 61050. 605 E. Wetmore. Crystal was amazing she’s store manager there, go see her. She’s so helpful. I went there with my group of people with developmental disabilities and she took really good care of us.

Beware of purchasing orders online

Beware of purchasing orders online! You will not get your orders online even if you pay the EXPEDITED shipping. They are slow in shipping orders out from wherever their distribution center or warehouse is. They will mark the order as "SHIPPED" but it doesn't actually move. I paid for expedited shipping which is A LOT OF MONEY to be delivered by 10/2/24. It never arrived!! It is now Thursday and need the costume by the end of the week.

I ended up having to place ANOTHER order and giving them more of my money and time to have it ready in-store to be picked up. I paid for the order online and picked it up here in this location.

I went to pick up my costume and just by looking at the packaging, I knew something was wrong. It did not look new or originally packaged. I know because I bought this costume before and I know how it is supposed to be packed! They sell you used or returned items! Be mindful and careful of this company because they are very shady! Make sure to inspect the item at the store to make sure you aren't being played. I immediately notified their manager Matt and he looked suspicious. It looked like he knew it was a returned item being sold to me as new and he hesitated when I asked to replace it with another one. It took him a minute to think and finally agree to switch it out. BE CAREFUL! He knew what was up and knew it wasn't a new item!

Now the company has double my money and spent so much nearly $150!! for their mistake!!

I just had an issue with this exact same store and filed a complaint with corporate just recently and decided to give them another chance. But the service is terrible!! HORRIBLE COMPANY PERIOD.

This company is a scam

I ordered a costume for my daughter. Within 3 minutes I called to cancel the order because I didn't realize my husband already ordered one. I was told to call back in an hour because it takes time to see my order. I called back, was told my order shipped, and I cant cancel. Was also told I will be responsible for shipping charges when I return after I receive it in the mail. I got the shipping email and all they did was create a label. Why can't I cancel the order that hasn't left the warehouse? Horrible customer service and won't buy from this company again.

The bad attitude of the employee and the manager means that I will never return to this store, the treatment is horrible and the unwillingness to work, first they don't help you with anything and then when it comes time to get paid the person who served me is thin or not I know how to define it as a wig, he insisted to the point of feeling bad for me to donate, on more than 4 occasions he told me that you are not going to donate, I can't believe that you don't donate, after reiterating that I don't donate and charging me, I realize that the item but the tax was $48.14 and I see something else for 0.86 I asked him and he told me that this was roundabout, this insulted me because it is my money and I give it or spend it on whatever I want, I told him that it was disrespectful and he He said that he couldn't give it back to me, already very insulted I told him to give me back all my money and at that moment the manager arrived supporting him but seeing my determination that he would have to return my money so he agreed to return it, the two of them told me not to return the store, of course I will not return but not because they asked for it, I will not return because I don't feel like it, it is sad for a company to have workers like this, it is these workers who lead it to ruin, store located in Mall of The Americas

blatant false advertising

Bought an item with blatant false advertisement on the box. When I tried to return the item they said they can't return my money because I opened the box. (It was in a box that required scissors to open) even though the manager agreed it was false advertisement. And don't listen to the auto generated messages from customer service that pop up on trust pilot. I already spoke with customer service and they refused to help me, dodged my questions. Reported to BBB.

What went wrong was the manager melisa the young lady was very rude to a customer in Spanish and I try to get her manager district was told to go to the companies website to get it. AVOID this company & this so CALL STORE MANAGER ( MELISA) got to PARTYCITY. I want to remain anonymous because I live close to that store I will not give the date because I go to the pastry shoop next door
