Bamboo (Closed) Avaliações 

I booked a trip to Thailand and Cambodia for Feb of 2022 but postponed a year due to Covid. When Bamboo was offering $1,000 of their trips I signed up for a June 2023 trip to Machu Pichu. As of Sept 2022 I was told the Machu Pichu trip was going to go. Two months later after trying to reschedule my trip to Thailand I am told they are dissolving the company. I have lost over 5,500$ and was told they don’t have to return funds. But they continued to advise trips even though they clearly knew they were in trouble.
Travelers should have refunds for future trips not taken otherwise this sounds like a ponzy scam.

Hi do we go about getting the money back or having any contact with the company. Do we file a lawsuit or something. Has anyone got any ideas? This is disgusting saved hard for this trip and they have disappeared without a trace.

This company run by Colin Salisbury and Mark Foster Murray suddenly closed, refused refunds, treated customers with utter disregard and callousness. There are over 1,500 signatures from every English speaking country on Change Org petition demanding an explanation where their money went/is stashed. 1,000+ on FB WAB RIP Off page alone demanding explanation of the money whereabouts. There is evidence of lavish lifestyles lived by these men over the last 3 years. Evidence of the either toothless/unwillingness of New Zealand business regulators, police or media to take up consumer cases. This was an international rip off carried out from an office ar 102 Cheviot Rd, Lower Hutt 5013 ew Zealand.
WAB marketed as an ethical tourist company and did appear in the past to offer good tours leading to good reviews. However, the owners have
decided to take the money and run off without a backward glance. I note that other ethical travel companies have not called out WAB owners who nestled among them for the damage they have done to the concept of ethical travelling. I will be very wary of ‘ethical travel companies’ wondering if scammers are lurking behind the ethical marketing.

I had booked my trip for 2020 but due to covid I rescheduled it for 2023. And now they closed by apologising and without giving any refund!! That feels a complete fraud to me and Ihave had enough! I will never invest in something like this again.

Closed. They have absconded with millions of travellers dollars. No refunds, not ok. Funds for trips should have been in trust and taken upon completion of tour. Facebook page Bamboo Rip Off for those of you that have lost money and want assistance in ideas to explore options for recovery. You must answer Admin questions.

I am only one of thousands that has lost money to Colin and Mark BAMBOOZLERS. Not only am I out $8300 USD, you’ve robbed the world of some incredibly amazing people who wanted to help the world and people less fortunate. Instead you are living the high life. Look in the mirror - I’m sure your mother is really proud of you both. Neither one of you has a soul or a conscience. Shame on you both.

I purchased four vouchers in 2021 for travel with Bamboo at a future date ($4650 US). At the time of purchase Bamboo was excited to offer the discounted rates ands promised travel in the future. Earlier in 2022 I contacted Bamboo to set dates for using two of my four vouchers for my daughter and I to travel to Thailand. They were helpful in setting up the dates and answering questions and never once mentioned that there were issues with travel or with the company. I knew travel had been canceled or at least slowed due to Covid, but Bamboo gave no indication in our correspondence or on their website that issues were still arising. I booked travel in good faith and learned several weeks later that they had closed their doors and were not offering refunds. They have my hard earned money (and money of many many other hopeful travelers) and have taken away my ability to take my daughter on a once in a lifetime adventure. I want my money back!!

The lack of transparency about the closure of Bamboo is a disappointment but more disappointing is I convinced my daughter to sign up for a trip that was delayed several times but as recently as June were being told to rebook. The trip was cancelled after she and her friend booked their flight to Bali. So $8000 plus another $2000 from a pre booked trip for myself and sister is $10000 of hard earned dollars that have been lost.

Just found out about Bamboo closing from trying to visit the website. I did not receive any email with information regarding this. The company should have sent an email. I was in the process of paying for two trips. Hell no they are keeping my money. What weasels. They need to be help accountable for deception and fraud.

Hey. I’m starting a page for all who have been scammed by the closing of this company with no refund. Let’s band together and start a class action lawsuit.

I would also join a class action suit. I agree they shld have escrowed our trips for refund. They had to have known months ago that they were closing and kept signing up trips and taking money. That makes them fraudent!

Clearly some people writing reviews do not realize what this company has just done to hundreds if people. Honouring trips until the end of December but cancelling everything after that with no refund. They took a monthly payment from me at the end if September! I assume knowing full well that it would not be providing my trip. Noooo Bamboooo!

I just learned now that the company is closing! How about sending an email informing people about it. This is ridiculous.

It’s one thing for them to close but to not refund people their hard earned money and to be using that to fund their own legal action is appalling. My trip was meant to have the last payment this month but I thought something was up when I received an email in October saying my trip wasn’t going ahead but then I emailed them and they said it was a system error and it was still going ahead. Then the next time I logged in to check details it was saying my payment was due immediately (October) - my final payment was not due until 11th November. Thank god I didn’t pay it! I only found out they closed as I emailed them to confirm some details about my Uganda trip due to leave in Feb 2023 and they came back and said I must have unsubscribed from their emails and attached a link which gave the details of them closing. I never unsubscribed. My life long dream of going to Africa will most likely not happen now. I also unfortunately decided to pay them to arrange my insurance. I have emailed them several times for the insurance details but I am being ghosted.

We spent our vacation in Bamboo's Thai beach and we had the time of our lives. The views were breathtaking, and the personalized service was something we'll never forget.

1 star only because it’s the minimum required. I embraced the eco friendly and giving back ethos you promoted. I paid top price to volunteer because I believed your hype.
I’m saddened you have stolen $995 from me, but heartbroken you have taken my funding from the communities and projects I thought I was helping.
Shame on you Bamboo.
