Wow! That sums it up how my two sisters and I feel regarding American Veterans Aid. AVA representative Barbara Wright was our first contact. Barbara was straightforward, didn’t make promises AVA couldn’t back up and honest with what to expect with timelines on getting the necessary documentation and honest on how long the process could take, and the cost for their services. The saying “you get what you pay for” is correct – it was worth every penny. Our case manager, Ardee Diamante, and Daisha Martinez, a documents specialist, worked with us through the process and were always there if we needed help or clarification. We could not have asked for a better team. They were fantastic. We followed their directions to a “T” – no shortcuts, which I feel made this go through so smoothly. We were told no guarantees on how long it would take to start receiving benefits once the Veterans Administration received the completed package – a few months to a year or so (or longer depending on the circumstances). It took one month! Veterans Administration received our completed package on May 8. The Veterans Administration’s check for the retroactive payments was deposited into my mother’s account on June 8, and monthly VA payments will start July 1. If it wasn't for AVA guiding us through this who knows how many mistakes we could have made to delay the process. Thank you AVA!

American Veterans Aid has developed a process that assisted me in gathering and submitting the required information and VA forms for benefits that my mother might qualify for. Barbara conducted an initial dialogue with me that helped determine my mother's needs and whether they might be able to help. I worked with Marcella to gather and complete the information and forms. Ardee ensured the information was complete and promptly got it to the VA for review and decision. The whole time Joyce ensured a great customer experience. The process for gaining the VA’s approval to support veterans and veteran spouses financial support is extremely difficult, requiring numerous historical datapoints and documenting evidence, and needed current status information. While getting all the needed information pulled together was difficult, AVA made this process smooth. They were there for me and our mother every step of this journey. As complicated as our overall government is, I really believe that veterans and their spouses would have a significant, if not close to impossible climb to reach the finish line.

American Veterans Aid is an amazing service! From the beginning of the process through completion, AVA walked me through every step. It's a process I would not have been able to navigate on my own. I worked with AVA's Joyce Navarro-Lucca. Communication was ongoing so that I knew which documents were needed and where to send them. If I had questions or needed clarification, Joyce responded immediately. This kept the process on track and resulted in a quick resolution. The Special Compensation to which my mother is entitled (as a widow of a war veteran) is enabling her to receive the assistance she needs in this late season of her life. AVA was one of two companies suggested by my local American Legion Post to help my mother apply for veteran’s benefits. Her husband, a WWII Purple Heart Veteran, passed away several years ago. My mother was in need of financial assistance and Mary Anne from AVA guided me through the application process.
