They ignore my attempts to communicate.
Our businesses have been with Aston Shaw for many years, however something detrimental appears to have changed in they way they conduct their business in the last year or so. They ignore all my emails, and after lots of desperate calls from me, I was finally sent my tax return to review at the last minute, only to find it was wrong. It's extremely frustrating, and I can see other customers have left similar reviews so I'm not the only one having trouble.

I have recently added the payroll service from Aston Shaw for my business and why have I not done this before.... I had a fantastic experience and felt genuinely supported throughout.
From the start, by adding Aston Shaw payroll, the support from Justyna Kwiatkowska was not only efficient and professional, but also warm and personal—something that’s increasingly rare these days.
Every question I had was answered quickly and clearly, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. I was treated like a valued customer, not just a number, and that really stood out.
It’s refreshing to deal with a company that truly cares and goes the extra mile. Highly recommended!

I have been using Aston Shaw in both business and personal for it must be over ten years. Aston Shaw originally took over my small time accountants and over the years have advised changes with have allowed me to earn greater net income and in turn increased my investments.
It doesn't just stop with Aston Shaw. You ask a question or require expert advice and they will point you to another professional outside their company, which helps all the finances run smoothly.
I couldn't wish for a better team. Particular thanks go to Dylan William, Kian Burgess and Victoria Rolfe, a young and very professional team.

We have been with Aston Shaw since they started and have never had anything but excellent service from all departments and employees. From monthly payroll to VAT and so much more, they excel. Responses to questions are always quick and comprehensive. I would not hesitate to recommend them to any business small and large who are looking for a reliable accountancy service.

Avoid at all costs! BEWARE!
Was approached by Aston Shaw self acclaimed R&D specialists. Filed 2 years worth of claims with them and at first they was great but once the claims had been filled and funds paid to them their communication abilities dropped off the face of the earth and I may as well be emailing/calling my imaginary friend. I’ve kindly requested updates on numerous occasions and got nowhere with them. I wouldn’t go near them again as they are clearly money pinching crooks.

HAPPY AGAIN
Since writing a five star review three years ago, i have had some unsatisfactory service from members of staff, who have since left the firm. As a result my affairs were left in an accounting mess. However, i have been most fortunate that Matthew Butcher has taken over my account. He quickly understood the problems and set about resolving them in a most efficient, knowledgeable and courteous manner, sometimes ably assisted by Chris Lock an in-house tax expert.

Kian is our point of contact at payroll. He is always professional and, thankfully, patient when we've made a mistake which involves them having to re-run the payroll.

I did not enjoy my customer experience
My experience has been difficult and upsetting. I did not experience good customer care, or good communication, or efficient service. It took far too long to do the work and this might have cost me.

I was a customer for 10 years as a sole…
I was a customer for 10 years as a sole trader and a Limited company. Over the last 3 years the standard of service as slipped and progressively got worse. Members of staff ignore emails, duplicate correspondence and finally, an alleged bill for services from 6 years ago magically appeared. During this, the company misappropriated funds paid to them; to suit their own needs.
When challenged, they were completely incapable of providing substantive proof.
It has transpired that this is a repeat circumstances with me and 2 other of their customers.
AVOID!!!

Whilst your feedback is greatly appreciated, it is important that we respond to the points you have raised. Our records suggest that all of your emails have been responded to and addressed accordingly. Following your meeting at our Ipswich office, our Finance Team reached out to you and offered a face-to-face meeting to resolve your outstanding dispute, you declined this offer.
At no point did we misappropriate your payments, I can confirm that they have been correctly allocated to the invoices you had previously agreed to pay. All invoices have been raised according to your signed engagement with Aston Shaw, which has been provided to you.
I understand the reason for your negative review is because we have disengaged you as our client following your aggressive behaviour towards our staff and your unwillingness to discuss your dispute in an amicable fashion. We have also confirmed with you in writing our stance in this matter which included a solution as a gesture of goodwill- your desired outcome.

This year, I worked with Matthew Butcher for the first time, and he elevated the experience from good to exceptional. He quickly turned around my accounts, kept me updated throughout the process, and took the time to explain everything clearly. It's no surprise that other reviewers have mentioned him; he’s a true asset to the company, and I hope his contributions are recognised.
