Recently had my bathroom completely refurbished and delighted with the result.
From my first meeting with Colin who gave help and advice in drawing up plans for a more accessible and useful bathroom through to completion, I was impressed with the company as a whole.
During the installation by Alan and Martin who did most of the work, as well as the electrician and men who laid the flooring, the quality of workmanship and attention to detail was excellent. They were very pleasant and helpful and always cleared up at the end of each day.
The work was completed within the promised time frame and I would thoroughly recommend BMAS.

This is our 2nd BMAS completed installation within six months for another family member with reduced mobility. Paul the Sales Manager understood exactly what was needed to renovate the bathroom to allow practical, safe and easy showering for my disabled brother with carers. A low-level slip resistant shower tray was installed with half height folding screens along its full length. Ribbed grab rails were affixed to new wall boards surrounding as was curved shower rail & curtain. Steven was the highly experienced fitter and demonstrated multi-trade skill throughout the build. At the outset he rose to the challenge of undertaking difficult and unforeseen alterations required under the floor. He then worked tirelessly at pace and without fuss to make it all come together. The bathroom looks terrific with quality standards of workmanship and finish. Thank you BMAS team!

The initial concerns have now been resolved and I am very pleased to report that all is well.
The way that the removal of the old en-suite was done was excellent and then the installation of the new suite and shower was done was done to a high standard. The relaying of the new slip free floor was very well done and is now a first class example of workmanship.
The workmen (Tom and Craig) who installed most of the work were excellent as was the Electrician and the two men who did the floor.

This company proved knowledgeable and helpful when I wanted to change my bathroom to a wet room. The surveyor was very helpful, knowing the kinds of things I would need and knowing what would be involved in the work.The work included moving a toilet but they made it seem simple. Their estimate of time needed was accurate and the standard of work was excellent. The installers were polite, friendly and efficient. I am delighted with my new wet room and the wonderful shower.

My large, accessible wet room, installed by Bathing Mobility Advisory Service (Glasgow) looks great, functions beautifully and is a joy to use. Staff were helpful at every stage, from consultation to installation, making sure that the right choices were made for my family needs. First of all congrats to Trustpilot for winning their recent legal case preventing sellers of fake reviews !
Four years ago I had a wet room bathroom installed by BMAS costing a five figure sum.
My house has a flat roof and therefore no attic. It has a suspended wooden floor with a subfloor crawl space. There is a large airing cupboard in a corridor a few feet away from the shower. Nevertheless BMAS decided to place the shower electronic control unit (made by VADO) underneath the floorboards in an adjacent room.
The placement (I have recently discovered) is in direct contravention of VADO fitting instructions which demand an ambient temperature for the control unit of greater than 5 degrees C. As I live in Scotland it can be assumed it will fall below this for considerable periods.
The subfloor placement has also directly contributed to insect entry through a drainage hole in the control box. This recently shorted out the PCB within the unit resulting in an unusable shower (it took BMAS 6 weeks to get it working again).
The control box is warrantied by VADO for only a couple more months and they have indicated (understandably) that they would not be likely to honour the warranty again because of the placement site.
Having found it very hard to get answers from their Glasgow office (they promised replies which never came) I complained officially to BMAS and got a rather non-committal anodyne reply from the area sales manager (Ian Turton) who maintained that insect ingress to the unit is NOT more likely in the crawl space under the floor than above (inside the house). I have been advised that this is nonsense as insect numbers are vastly greater in a subfloor space.
BMAS have refused to re-site the control box and they have not replied to a follow up e-mail I sent to I.T. almost 2 months ago.
I will update this post if the PCB fails again for the same reason. In the meantime I would bear all this in mind if you are considering a BMAS installation and, most importantly, it's subsequent maintenance. Also bear in mind that six weeks is.in my view, much too long to wait for a shower to be fixed.
I will be very interested to see if BMAS bother to reply to this post and what (if any) excuses they give.
UPDATE AFTER REPLY FROM BMAS on 4th December
BMAS SAY
“the options for the location of the control unit were discussed and agreed upon”
“The issue you faced four years post-installation, caused by insect ingress, is something that is naturally outside of anyone's control”.
“Their (VADO’s) technician repaired the control unit and restored it to full working order, confirming there was no need to relocate the unit, as it had been installed correctly”
MY REPLY,
I would not normally bother to prolong this issue but when I read nonsense about insect behaviour and other apparent untruths about VADO reports I feel I must respond.
BMAS came and fitted the shower room and decided where to site the VADO control unit. The contract simply states “VADO sensor fitted” and the BMAS contract also clearly states that “no verbal conditions can be accepted regarding this contract”.
Here are some extracts from communications I have received from VADO Engineer Support from which the reader can decide for themselves on the veracity of the BMAS replies above.
“ …. We believe that this ‘foreign body’ is insect like and it’s encroachment onto the PCB board within the processor unit has caused the issue. The location of the unit being under what we believe is a floating floor could have given rise to the opportunity for this to happen.
"We would fully agree with you however in that the chance of an insect entering a processor unit via the drain holes is certainly increased given the location of your unit underneath of the floor joists (suspended floor as you refer). All sorts of insects enter properties underneath of flooring via airbrick holes etc. as they are more of a natural ‘living space’ for such creatures rather than within an airing cupboard for example. Insects of this nature are more ‘at home’ in dark/cold/damp conditions compared to ‘above floor’ within the property itself".
"Long term resolution would be to relocate the processor unit somewhere within the living space in the property".
"It would be our opinion that the current installation location of the processor unit may well fall outside of the ambient temperature guidelines given for the product”
In Summary
BMAS, please do the honest and honourable thing. Admit your errors and re-site the unit at no cost to me.

A prompt visit and helpful advice from Paul made the decision to go ahead with the Level Access Shower room easy.
Within 10 days work had started and Tommy and Craig kept us informed of what was happening throughout the process.
All work was to a high standard and completed in time.
Very pleased with the end result.

I needed to convert a room to a bathroom on the ground floor of the house so my father do not need to walk upstairs that's very difficult for him. Steve came very within a week after I called BMAS and the visit was done professionally and efficiently. Steve showed the layout immediately after knowing what we need and provided good advices. The conversion work started around a month later and finished in a week. There's a mistake in the panel being laid but that's corrected the next day. The conversion was completed nicely and that's exactly what we need.

BMAS have a local Hitchin showroom, and we have had 2 disability bathrooms installed by them to the highest standards and finish.
Communication with both the Salesman and the Installation manager is excellent , due to their friendliness and diligence .
However a degree of persistence is required to ring the local showroom, due to the advent of a BMAS National phone answering system menu.
