Our dental practice has been a loyal DD Group customer for many years, which makes this situation even more frustrating.

We booked a routine service for a suction pump that was fully operational and functioning without any issues beforehand. During the service, DD Group’s engineer snapped one of the fixing screws and was unable to complete the work. Following the visit, we were informed that replacement parts were required and were initially asked to pay approximately £890 to rectify the situation.

The most concerning aspect is that the need for these repairs arose directly from the service visit itself. The pump was working perfectly before DD Group attended. Even the engineers who subsequently reviewed the unit confirmed that the pump itself remained in very good condition and operational.

After submitting a formal complaint, DD Group agreed to waive the labour, call-out charges and service kit cost, but still expected us to pay around £600 for replacement parts. In my view, this does not represent taking full responsibility for damage that occurred during their own servicing process.

What has disappointed me most is not the broken screw itself—accidents can happen—but the company’s response afterwards. Rather than restoring the equipment to the condition it was in before their intervention, the financial burden was largely passed back to the customer.
As a long-standing customer, I expected a far more customer-focused and accountable approach. Unfortunately, this experience has significantly reduced my confidence in DD Group’s engineering support and complaint handling process.

Michael Hendy has attended our practice on several occasions and has provided EXCELLENT customer care and service at each visit. Extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and informative.

We were delighted to see that engineer John Mooney is back with DD and attended our practice in Glasgow early this morning! John is a fantastic engineer who always goes above and beyond. No job is too big or too small. He never leaves until the job is complete and gives us feedback on anything we are doing or not doing to maintain our equipment. He is a wealth of knowledge and an all round nice guy. Pleasure to have him here
