Eye academy have looked after my eyes for a number of years now and I can't fault them. The eye test is always thorough and I have never felt like they were in a rush to get me out of the room, unlike some of the high street chains I have visited in the past.

I used to only wear my contact lenses because I could never find a pair of glasses that suited me. The very friendly staff at Eye Academy went above and beyond on helping me find a pair that I would be happy to wear outside of the house. They're help was amazing and I no longer dread my annual opticians visit!

I have finally completed the purchase of varifocal glasses from Eye Academy. They are Bvlgari frames with Nikon lenses and I am pleased with the excellent vision they provide for reading, PC and distance. I was sadly unlucky with the customer service from Eye Academy as the purchase took 3 months with numerous trips to Windsor and five pairs of glasses - a sort of trial and error process. I experienced an allergic reaction to possibly silicon in the frames and Hoya lenses. The fifth pair were successful and are good - such a relief. I am pleased Eye Academy persevered, disappointed it took so long and was such an arduous process. Maybe lessons have been learnt and it will not happen again in the future. Note - the glasses are expensive at nearly £1000 so you expect a decent return for that investment.

STOP! Do not go to this Optician! I was sent there by a GP a few years back and I don't know what arrangement is in place but it ended up being a very expensive experience considering it was an NHS recommendation.
Anyway forget that pain and fast forward to 2017 and I call to book a standard eye test. As I went to pay, after being left twice to "look for my new frames!", they tell me they’re not sure what a standard eye test is and so charged £150 for the privilege. I repeatedly asked then to break it down so that I could claim part of the cost back from my employer (pretty standard stuff right?) but I have now given up the chase as continuously requesting the legal requirement of receiving my prescription from them was painful enough and life's too short to deal with arrogance and brick walls and so have basically given up as their customer service is disgustingly poor.

Eye Academy are a professional and friendly independent opticians, offering an excellent personal service. The eye test was thorough and well explained. Due to the complicated nature of my prescription, I was impressed with the time and effort taken to get everything 100% right.

Been using Ellis & Thompson part of the Eye Academy now for a few years.

They seem to care about each client and the staff are friendly and always seem to know the right frame for me.

I was used to High Street optician chains. I was used to tight appointment times and Saturday queues, but their service was efficient and, because of their economies of scale, the prices were reasonable enough.
Eye Academy was a lovely surprise. Spacious showroom, filled with gorgeous designer frames, well equipped examination rooms, attentive and charming service. The staff had time to guide me to a suitable frame for my prescription, and my choice could even be slightly adapted, to ensure a perfect fit. Nothing was too much trouble.
Eye Academy is pricey, of course, but the calm ambience, the impeccable service and the wide variety of beautiful frames make up for the higher cost.
I can't see me returning to the High Street after this...

They have a great selection of frames and styles, they were patient and knowledgeable in helping and they listened to me. I ended up getting the perfect sunglasses for me. Amazing customer service too.

The people that work at this opticians could not be more friendly and helpful.
They are also highly professional and actually saved my sight by recognising a problem with my eyes, then referring me to an eye surgeon, one cannot put a price on sight, I cannot thank this opticians enough.
