As always, the quality of furniture at Early Settler is very high, and the prices are very low! My customer experience, getting my sofas sent to Darwin, was so easy! Anisa researched the entire process for me and went out of her way to find me the best price. It was so refreshing, having a genuinely friendly and down to earth person on the other end of the phone!

Anisa from the customer service team in Melbourne is the reason for this score, she was the most helpful, friendly and professional person I’ve dealt with in a very long time. I had been into stores multiple times over the previous two weeks and was (probably unrealistically) wanting to get an outdoor table that was ‘in stock’ but was told it was 2+ weeks delivery time to get it to me in Adelaide. I called the head office and asked what the chances are I’d be able to courier it privately and get it before Christmas. I even offered to pay full price to buy the display model in store, ANISA who I spoke to over the phone spoke to the store, spoke to the warehouse and tried everything she could to try and get me the table before Christmas. She followed up with me multiple times and as we speak it is on a truck on its way to Adelaide and I will be getting my table tomorrow morning.
She went above and beyond to try and help get my query resolved and made sure I was updated every step of the way. I am so thankful for Anisa and I hope you are well recognised for your efforts towards customer service.

Excellent customer service, there was a discrepancy on the website pricing and the online agent ( Jess ) didn't want to keep me waiting, so she manually took the order and matched the discount.

We purchased the Kadara table and bench seats. After a few days, the glue used for assembling the table started coming unstuck. Contacted Early Settlor and they were really helpful, providing options of compensation or replacement. Alison was very easy to deal with and helpful and responsive. We are going with replacement and Alison explained the process and timing. Couldn't be happier with Early Settlors response and support. Thank you.

If you’re looking for a driver who’s part chauffeur, part superhero,Michael is your guy. This absolute legend didn’t just drive; he delivered a masterclass in smooth rides and good vibes. Honestly, I half-expected him to pull a cape out of the glove box. Five stars aren’t enough—someone give this man a medal.

Ordered an entertainment unit and arranged delivery to city centre. Delivery cost was the most expensive ($90) compared to all items ordered from other shops. And delivery was far and away the worst experience of any delivery I’ve had. Early Settler use Goddards for deliveries and the LG driver refused to drive into building loading bay underground despite building manager assuring him there was plenty of clearance (which there was). There was no where else to park and so they left me with a very heavy piece of furniture in the loading bay. I had to call my partner to leave work and come and help me get it up to my apartment. I’m not a big person and it was a huge struggle to get the unit to the apartment. Would never buy anything from Early Settler that requires delivery. To add insult to injury, the next delivery was from Mainfreight in a bigger truck and they got into the loading area no problem. And got the furniture to the apartment for me. All for a cheaper price.

I will not shop there again. Over a week ago, I made my first purchase—an entertainment unit (which hasn’t arrived yet). Yesterday, I went back to buy a small rug. Before paying, I was informed that using a “credit card” would incur a SURCHARGE. Since the amount was small, the extra fee was only 33 cents, so I paid with my credit card.

However, I asked them if this SURCHARGE would apply to larger purchases as well. They told me it was required by the credit card company. I then asked why, during my first purchase, I wasn’t asked what card I would use or informed about the surcharge. At that time, I paid with my UnionPay card because it was convenient, but they didn’t know in advance what card I would use. If I had used a credit card during my first purchase, the surcharge wouldn’t have been charged because they only ADD THE SURCHARGE after confirming that you will use a credit card. This fee is added to the price of the product as part of the total amount rather than being displayed separately on the payment terminal.

They also told me that since the items were already 40% off, only the EFTPOS card were allowed. What kind of logic is this? Furniture usually costs a significant amount. Are customers expected to prepare cash before shopping? Otherwise, they might have to pay substantial surcharges if they use a credit card. Are they negotiating final prices with customers behind the scenes and using SURCHARGE as a bargaining tool???If so, that’s highly inappropriate and it’s unfair for customers.

Is there really a furniture store like this? I’ve lived here for nearly 30 years, and this is the first time I’ve encountered something so unbelievable. Once I pick up my order, I will never shop there again.

I contacted live chat, after standard business hours, and was able to speak with Jess. I needed a bracket that was missing from a ceiling fan I had purchased.
Jess spoke with my local store; who sourced a spare part to be delivered.
