Ordered a beautiful Artemide table lamp…
Ordered a beautiful Artemide table lamp (and bulb) which arrived promptly and very well packaged. Once unpacked it was clear that the lamp required 4 bulbs and not just one ! A quick email and excellent customer service and the matching 3 bulbs will be dispatched as soon as they are back in stock.

Tried to lure me into 3rd party app
Tried to lure me into 3rd party app. This is a very good business with good products at a good price. I’ve visited their store in Bath in the old Hay store, all very high end lovely stuff. Thus it was disappointing when I spent over £400 on a lamp to be directed for delivery information to a 3rd party app that then both tried to harvest my information and sell me crap. When I complained I was told there was not need to use Shopify app to track parcel. That is not what it said on their email, it simply directed me to the app to track. It seems very strange in a world where we are bombarded with attempts to get us to download apps and malware. Any downloaded app you don’t know about increases risks, even if genuine. I regularly get a spat of fraud contacts after using retailers own sites. So for an intrinsically high end business to expose customers like this and give such an unsatisfactory and disingenuous reply is frankly disappointing. I would not have bothered to put this on trustpilot, I gave them my feedback direct, but I was then hassled by emails asking me to give a trustpilot review. So you can buy from them and they are trustworthy, but do so aware they see you as a person to monetise and exploit not as a valued client in the traditional high end shop sense. I don’t know what they get in return from Shopify, but it will be very likely be something in addition to the profit made from my purchase. Other business sell your data too, but I expect better from them and transparency and honesty that they are doing it. Maybe just buy from another retailer to be safe.

We would like to clarify that downloading or using the Shopify app is entirely optional and is not required to track or receive an order from us. Our website is powered by Shopify, which is why the option to use the Shopify app can appear within some of our order communications, but customers do not need to download the app in order to receive their purchase.
Delivery tracking is provided separately by the courier once an order has been dispatched, and the courier’s tracking information can be accessed without downloading the Shopify app.
We completely understand your concerns around being directed towards an app you did not expect or want to use, particularly when you have concerns about privacy and unsolicited marketing. We’re sorry that our communication gave the impression that downloading the app was necessary, as this was certainly not our intention.
We’re also sorry that, after you had already raised your concerns directly with us, you subsequently received review requests. We appreciate how this could have added to your frustration.
We’re pleased to hear that you have otherwise had a positive impression of Holloways and our products, and we genuinely value your feedback. We will raise your comments internally so that we can review how our order and tracking communications are presented and make it clearer that the app is optional.

Excellent Customer Service
I needed to replace the broken glass shade of a light previously bought from Holloway. I thought I might have to replace the whole unit but Customer Service were very helpful and confirmed that a replacement shade was available, ensured that I had the right shade and facilitated the order process.

What a disgraceful service!!
Another broken promise and unacceptable communication
Following my previous review on 21 August, HOL stated that my correct Sky Grey stool would be delivered within 2–3 weeks. The Head of Operations also contacted me personally and assured me that he would ensure everything will go smoothly this time.
I was then asked to book a delivery slot, what I did for today. However, when I called HOL this morning to confirm everything was on track, I was told there would be no delivery and that the stool is now only expected to ship from Denmark on 25 September.
What is particularly unacceptable is that nobody contacted me to advise me of this delay. I had to chase them myself on the day of the supposed delivery.
This is not an isolated issue, but yet another problem in an already long chain of failures with this order, as detailed in my first review. Despite repeated assurances and escalation to the Head of Operations, I am still having to chase HOL for information and deal with broken promises.
Extremely disappointing and completely unacceptable.

We have now spoken directly with Kinetic and are pleased to confirm that a Sky Grey HAY Palissade Short Stool has been specifically allocated to your order. We have also ensured there will be a White Glove service, and Kinetic has been asked to contact you directly to arrange a new delivery date.
We sincerely apologise for the repeated delays, the lack of communication and the inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate that this has been a very disappointing experience, and we hope that having the correct stool now allocated and the upgraded delivery service will finally allow us to put this right.
