We started out looking for new sofas some time ago. It is always a tedious experience going round furniture shops without seeing something that immediately clicks. We went to RF Mackay more than once without choosing before finally deciding that Stressless looked like the answer. During our visits we were approached a number of times by staff who were very helpful without being pushy. On our final visit, we spoke to Iona. She was very helpful and useful in our final decision. Today, our new sofas were delivered. Steve and Neil did a sterling job bringing them in and setting them up. We are very pleased with our experience of RF Mackay and the staff.

After a considerable delay due to a problem with the manufacturer and the sourcing of my chosen fabric (no fault of RF Mackay), I finally took delivery of my Erica Sofa corner unit, which I am very happy with.
I would like to leave a special thank you to Steve and Nick, the delivery guys from Richard F Mackay Edinburgh.
They were prompt, very polite, very professional and extremely careful with both my new sofa/corner unit

Bought a new house and bought several differing pieces from Richard F Mackay. Paul in the showroom spent a lot of time and worked very hard to ensure I got exactly what I wanted and fair prices. Neil & Steve who delivered on all occasions were excellent. Friendly, forward thought on protecting my house, very knowledgeable on the products and even offered to take away some cardboard boxes from my move which was totally unnecessary. Overall great & very personal experience.

Visited today following a mailing that outlined some very tempting offers. We were greeted initially then left to browse their range of sofas and armchairs with the offer of help, as and when. The offers were found to be exactly as we had hoped - which isn’t always the case - and this piqued our interest. Having made a choice of two potential options, the friendly and informative Darren Jack was happy to talk in detail about the manufacture and merits etc., without any pushy sales talk. Once we had made up our mind, Darren, went off to give an indication of the net costs - a little more than we had planned spending. He went off to speak with his manager and returned with their best price which was acceptable. We can be demanding customers but left feeling good about the exception service and deal that was struck. It’s not often you can leave a retailer, having spent more than planned, but entirely satisfied nonetheless. We particularly liked knowing that, in addition to receiving value for our current seating, it was to be uplifted, free of charge, and go to the BHF for sale that would reward this charity. We understand Richard F Mackay have helped BHF raise over £18k this year through this excellent scheme. We highly recommend Richard F Mackay and Darren Jack who really looked after us so well.

Bought an ex-showroom sofa, helpful staff in showroom but the truly exceptional service was the delivery. Steve and Murray arrived early (said happy to wait if an issue) and then helped me sort out old furniture, as well as bringing in new one. Steve was even helping with some interior design. Wonderful service and glad I've bought from a local, family-owned company.

Neil and Steve arrived on time and did a great job ‘building’ and testing our ‘electronic’ sofa. There was a slight issue with one of the bolts which they fixed without a problem. They tidied up and took away our old sofa. A great service - thank you.

Today two wonderful delivery men brought our new bed and also moved a bed to another room at the same time. They were both very polite, courteous and removed their boots when entering rooms where there were carpets on the floor. They really do deserve special mention.

Great experience from looking round the lovely showroom to delivery and setup. Hollie was really helpful in the showroom as we worked out what we wanted for our new dining table and chairs. We were lucky to catch them during a clearance sale too. Delivery came a few weeks earlier than expected which was a nice surprise. Steve and Muzz were brilliant on delivery, taking away our old table, which had to be dismantled when it wouldn’t go out the front door, and expertly building the new table. Very happy :-)

Good customer service overall, but a bit disappointed that my table and chairs took four weeks longer to arrive, than was indicated by the sales person when I placed the order. Delivery and installation by Steve and Muzz was very efficient and they were friendly and helpful.

Terrific company to deal with from start to finish.
The sales staff took a lot of time to show me (a lot!) of furniture options.
The delivery people were excellent: they unpacked and tidied, they even asked if I wanted them to install felt pads on the feet of the new furniture to protect my wooden floor. This is my second batch of furniture from them - great attention to detail both times.
The furniture is top quality, as you’d expect from RF Mackay.

The whole experience was simple and friendly from Kevin in the show room to the delivery guys, Murry and partner who were exemplary, went above and beyond moving things around for us, polite and very helpful. Quality products. quality service.

Having bought two sofas from R.F.M. February 2025 they were delivered on the 18th of that month.

Delivery drivers, (Great Guys) were so helpful, polite and professional.
Noting, with one of the sofas a problem, photos were taken by by the delivery driver and myself and passed onto the appropriate department / person.

First phone call was 24th February, “they will phone back” but no return call.
Endless phone calls (Feb, March and April) asking what was happening!!. and always told the same they would “phone back”. Never Happens.

Frustrated, called again 18th April to be told they will speak to the assistant manager and he would call me back within the hour.
8 DAYS later (26th April) and still NO PHONE CALL.

Member of the family visited the store on the 27th April and spoke with the assistant manager about the situation.
Received a phone call from him on 28th April and he will now be dealing with it personally and it will get resolved.

It is now nearing the end of June and still heard nothing from R.F.M !!

DONT GO THERE!!! I’ve been waiting since Nov last year for a 3 piece suite NO COMMUNICATION OR INFORMATION GIVEN HAD TO PHONE SEVERAL TIMES NO HELP FROM STAFF AND MANAGEMENT definitely won’t be back there !!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡
