I am with the Pdsa and didn’t know that if there is a problem with your pet that is out of hours that you phone the Pdsa first and then they refer you to Zetland rd emergency vets! Had a bill of £298.50 for 10 minutes because they said I didn’t have a referral so they will treat me as private which I didn’t have the money and had to use a credit card.very disappointed with this as No one explained this to me

It was so reassuring to talk to a vet and check everything was OK. Out of hours consultations are extremely expensive and this is a good way to check in with a vet when you're concerned without incurring huge bills.

I went to the emergency vet with my cat at 11.34pm she had a fever of 40.03 and they didn't want to do anything to her I had to pay £300 for them to take a look at the cat... I brought the cat home mostly dead. .. it doesn't seem normal to me, if we don't have money we let the animals die?? I found this cat in the street and I took it and raised it as a child because I felt sorry for it, but the veterans don't look at them if we don't pay... too bad

Staff were very helpful and caring no complaints about that but very expensive sadly lots of people with sick animals wouldnt be able to afford to seek their help

Your insurance claims are so difficult to sort out if you don’t have your details on you at the time ,when your dog is an emergency you just get in the car and go, your unable to go to the veterinary surgery the next day as they are closed and don’t deal with insurance, I had to phone around then post my claim form to Fife at a cost of over £7 when you charged me £25 for these fees already not happy about the way you do this why not electronic claim for your customer if they phone your Fife office giving the insurance ref number

We went as we needed an out of hours vet, it was a stressful time for us but we were seen straight away and our minds put at rest after our dog Blossom had a good examination. Very caring.

The treatment and consultation was efficient and thorough

Initial call was very helpful, the vet was very thorough and kind to my dog, especially as it turned out to be OK and may not have needed emergency appointment. Thanks very much x

First contact was with the call centre when my dog had an accident. Very friendly call handler booked us straight in for emergency treatment. We were seen straight away even though it was saturday. Good treatment provided and they made it easy to navigate the insurance element too.

A great and very helpful service. We were able to book at short notice when our cat developed an issue, and spoke to a vet the same evening. The advice given was very useful and informed, giving insight we wouldn't have got from looking at articles online.

It being a video call meant the vet could inspect our pet visually as well.

A very useful and innovative service that's great if you need professional advice for a non emergency issue with a pet. Well worth the money.

I brought my pet on New Year’s Day for a simple but urgent treatment and the Vet said they may not have time to remove the grass from his throat. This was causing my cat extreme stress and preventing him from eating or drinking. I was charged the fee which wasn’t the problem but sent home after a painkilling injection only. I was advised to starve him ( he couldn’t eat anyway) and told my own vet wouldn’t treat him more cheaply next day.
If I had wanted cheap I wouldn’t have asked for help in the first place.
He was so stressed by the time my own vet treated him next day he was terrified to go out and wasn’t passing water or faeces.
The stress this caused him was beyond measure.
As an additional insult to injury on top of the £320 I paid on the day for a painkilling injection and go home we won’t treat him, my insurance company have just been in touch and Vets Now have not replied to them. I think I need to phone Vets Now and pay another £25 for them to disclose what they did and charged to my insurer. Wonderful at 71 I do not need this stress.

Very accommodating. Extremely informative and attentive. Easy to understand the whole way through. Would not hesitate to go again should the need arise.

Took my dog here late at night on an emergency appointment, dog was crying out in extreme pain. They never done a full examination but gave him a pain relief injection. Which never touched the pain he continued to cry. Less than 12hours later at my own vets he was put too sleep. Felt so let down by vets now, and felt it was more about money than checking/treating my dog

Nice vet, quick to be seen, although missed the fact my dog had a very high temperature and needed antibiotics. Very expensive and card machine took ages to work. As of yet still waiting for my claim to be filled out over 2 weeks after my visit despite being regularly chased by my insurance company.

EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE! RIP OFF *(even for an after hours appointment). Paid £439.81 for a check up that didn't happen (as our cat was extremely stressed), and a small pack of antibiotics (for 5 days) and Metacam for the pain. In this country you have to be super rich to have a pet (which we are not). So we have to starve to keep our pets happy. We do not have any insurance as our cat is an indoor cat.

This week I used the emergency vet for the first time. At 8.30pm my cat came home injured, so I called my vet recommended, Vets Now Bristol. They answered immediately and asked me to come in, sending address details by email. We arrived to find we were the only people there, although had been warned that there could be a wait. The receptionist was lovely and we saw the vet quickly. She took my cat out the back to treat his injuries and we were on our way home with his meds super quickly. I had to pay for the bill at the time but they made it very clear how to claim sending an email form for me to complete. I was very happy indeed and my cat has been getting better and better every day since.

Recent visit to the Bristol team, my cat was well taken care of. The team were kind and compassionate, and everyone (except one receptionist who seemed to be permanently confused and told me my cat wasn’t there when I went to collect her) were lovely. Thankyou for making my pet well again, and for reassuring me when I was upset.
