Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Every member of staff was friendly and compassionate with excellent service throughout.
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the whole team. Sadly, we recently had to say goodbye to our wee boy, but the care, kindness and compassion shown to us made such a heartbreaking experience that little bit easier.
Having had a truly horrific experience with previous vets when we lost our last dog, we were understandably anxious, but the team made everything so peaceful, respectful and comforting, both during and after his final moments.
The lovely card, paw prints and keyring we received afterwards were such thoughtful gestures and meant so much to us.
We honestly cannot thank you all enough for the care and compassion you showed us and for helping us give our boy the peaceful, dignified goodbye he deserved. It’s something we will always be grateful for. ❤️

Had to wait over an hour and 30mins to see someone who came in examined my dog then said there only a nurse and you,ll have to wait another period to see a vet. Bearing in mind this is an out of o
hours emergency vet and my dog could have been requiring emergency attention this I feel was a poor service. When I did eventually see a vet they were really good with my dog and grateful for this.

The vets are very thorough, explain all aspects of your pets care and keep you fully informed throughout the treatment. I would highly recommend Vets Now in Glasgow.

Staff were lovely and so helpful. Thanks to the vets my dog was confirmed with Pyometra. I was unable to take my dog to her own vets due to it being closed for the bank holiday. All information and tests that were done were sent to my vets straight away and she had her op the next day. Bonnie was treated with so much care and love. I would definitely recommend Vets Now. Thank you all again. My girl is recovering well.

The vet that we saw located in Glasgow entirely dismissed my pets' condition and level of need.
They done a "visual assessment", told us that he required sedation, and an x-ray to examine what was going on, but said that they would not do it there and to contact my regular vet. The vet did not once touch my pet, they asked me to take him from his carrier, looked at his abscess, and told me to put him back in.
They said that he needed antibiotics, but would not be willing to give him them without investigating what was happening.
I took him to his own vet the following morning who confirmed that he had a severely infected abscess which needed immediate care and intervention. His condition was worsening quickly. They were very surprised and concerned that the Vets Now team did not take any action given the severity of it.
When we arrived, the nurse told us in triage that he would be a priority emergency, gave him pain relief and we would wait an hour at the very most.
We waited a total of 3 hours to be assessed, which I understand urgent cases come in, but there was no effort to communicate this.
The emergency vet that we saw sent us home with pain relief and told us to go to our own vet the following week. Thankfully, I managed to get an emergency weekend appointment instead the following day.
We waited a further 45 minutes for the pain relief to be dispensed, then paid a hefty £350 for the "visual assessment" and medicine.
I wish I had read the google reviews prior to going as they are filled with others sharing similar stories of poor quality of care, lack of support, empathy and extreme prices.
I will drive an extra 4 hours to a different vet if an emergency ever arises than return to this one.

Staff were very informative and friendly, our consultation was with Carmen and Jenny who both informed us in great detail everything we needed to know whilst also showing empathy. I now understand my pets condition and have the correct information to go forward with a suitable treatment. I highly recommend vets now and thank the staff for there kindness. 🐕🦺

A good service once I managed to be seen. The vet was clearly knowledgeable and supportive, but a 6 hour wait to be seen by a vet caused no end of anxiety to my pet who was in a basket- this is my criticism- there was a distinct lack of vets on duty for the volume of people being diverted there not only from Glasgow but as far afield as Ayrshire and arran up to Falkirk.
I do appreciate there were a number of significant emergencies due to the very hot weather that weekend but in the end I paid over £300 for a 6 hour wait and a 5 min consultation ( with meds)

Vets Now Glasgow sent me the wrong pet's paw prints and fur, then when I called to return them to the right owner and ask about my pets... the head of reception said that the paw prints weren't coming out well "because Mr Biscuits has been in the deep freezer" but he could "scrape together some fur..."
He then had the audacity to say... "And might I add, what a beautiful cat" - shocking

Posted originally on google and was removed by company , Was thrown into a room and forgotten about whilst my dog was left pouring of blood for hours on end , The first student vet nurse had 0 patience with dog and literally stormed out of the room with not a hint of any duty of care until finally being seen by the actual vet, Had to repeatedly ask receptionist what was happening to be told the dog is fine by the judge of her eye, Was then charged close to 1000 pounds for a consultation / a bandage which came off within 24 hours and prescribed a tray of paracetamol. Really terrible experience going here really hope no one else experiences that kind of treatment for their animals🙏

Process to be seen by a VET was easy and straightforward at what was a very stressful time. Staff were very friendly, calm, patient and understanding.

Their team saw my 8yo lurcher right away after she developed what was later diagnosed as severe pancreatitis. She was quickly given pain relief and anti nausea medication after a brief examination. Possible causes of illness were discussed and we were offered further testing and admission for fluids / further pain relief, but as it was 5am we decided to wait until our usual vet opened at 8am. The staff were kind and patient, and we felt fully in control of our girl's care during our visit. The clinic was calm, quiet and clean which was a relief as our dog is generally quite anxious. The cost of her visit was a bit pricey, however given it was an out of hours emergency that's totally understandable (and fortunately we have insurance so reclaimed the cost). Can't thank the team enough for supporting our girl until she could see her own vet!
