£295.00 out of hours consultation cost is extortionate. I understand it would be more expensive than normal hours, but a debt collection agency if not paid within 30 days is disgusting. They have you in the corner by the throat if you have no choice . I used the £26 or £24 video consultation method out of hours. I did not use the out of hours face to face. Vet was a real help and put my mind at rest. Kelly treated at a normal operating hours practice today. She is okay, but I will think that rate they are charging particularly to people who are on means tested sickness related benefits is nothing short of extortion and is beyond immoral and unreasonable.

The vet was very helpful and understanding and sorted us out.

I used this service after it was suggested by the man on reception, who answered my call. I explained it was not an emergency at that stage, but if possible would like to check with a vet my dogs current symptoms.

When the vet came online he started by saying this was an emergency service only and seemed “put out” for want of a better description. I explained that this service had been suggested by the chap who answered my call and I had not even known this service was available. Anyway, we briefly discussed my concerns with my dog and the call finished.
My concerns had been correct and sadly after blood tests and ultrasound a few days later, he was diagnosed with an enlarged spleen and unlikely to survive. The very sad decision was made to let him go peacefully.
This is not down to the vet I spoke to that night, but I was definitely disappointed with the way he dealt with the situation. Maybe he’d had a bad day, we all get them.

Highly advice this rather than paying a £200 emergency consultation when your vets is out of hours

It was good to speak to someone that knew what they were talking about, but because I couldnt find the email inititially we could only get so far. My cat has left a pile a couple of times last night :(

The vet was lovely and checked clover thoroughly with asking questions and looking at her on the phone. She got me to check certain things on clover whilst she watched so she could check her breathing and her gums etc. Fantastic service and such a lovely helpful vet

The whole process went very well. The on call vet was professional, kind, efficient and very reassuring.
The email with came through so going on line went well due to the instructions being very clear.
Luckily all was OK and we visited our own vets the next morning for tests and scans.

Easy to use service and advice given and vet could see dog due to there being no vet closer than 80 mile round trip which is not possible with a stressed and panicked dog this helped a little
