Video call technology worked well with no prior setup.
Vet I spoke to lacked knowledge on Budgie health issues and I felt I got less case specific information than I had from an earlier search for the birds symptoms on the internet. That's not to say the internet information was accurate of course...
It would be better if the booking system showed the area of specialisations of each practitioner and you could make an informed choice of which vet to choose based on that.

Laura was great - so knowledgeable, helpful and personable too. This is such a great service for those times when you need a bit of advice. Can't recommend enough!

I was really pleased with my appointment. I wasn’t sure if I had an emergency on my hands so this is a great way for the vet to see your pet. And very inexpensive for peace of mind. I have used the video vet service several times now. It's particularly useful if you're unsure whether you need to take your pet for a physical exam or not. It's also great when you're unable to get an in-person appointment as quickly as you'd like. In my last consulation I wanted to know whether it worth having my cat examined for scratching a lot -- he'd already had a steroid injection and I know that identifying allergies is really difficult. The vet I talked to was very thorough and walked me through the different allergies and told me that my vet would be able to do a couple of tests to rule things out, such as a parasite; she also told me that there might be alternative treatments to try. This was really helpful and persuaded me to make another in person appointment for my cat.

Very personal experience and the vet was knowledgeable but quick also due to time restraints - this was a good thing though as they go to the point!

Put my mind at rest late on a Saturday night when access to our vet not available.

The vet listened to the problem, explained what is going on with our dog and reassured us with treatment advice, which is exactly what we needed to hear. He was pleasant, professional and friendly and we felt confident of the way forward over the weekend.
