Having been a Yellow Jersey customer for three years, I was devastated to find that they would not pay out when my bike storage unit was broken into and I had £15K of bikes stolen. I had Ultimate coverage on both bikes, but YJ refused to pay me a penny due to technicalities in their policy document that were ambiguously worded, at best. I have since found out that their main competitors would have paid out fully under the same circumstances. Would definitely tell all keen cyclists to avoid giving any business to YJ in the future. In addition, every person I dealt with at the company was rude and not at all empathetic. They seemed to revel in not paying me any money.

Claim sorted quickly and efficiently
Had the awful experience of mine and my wife's MTB's coming off the roof of my car when the roof rack failed. Kien took all the information and quickly sorted out finding a direct replacement of my wife's MTB and because mine was no longer in stock, the cash equivalent to be able to replace mine with the new model. Bike was delivered directly to my work within 2 weeks of the incident and we're back out on the trails! Would 100% recommend insuring your bikes with Yellow Jersey Cycle Insurance

Absolutely appalling. Not a company run by or for cyclists. As with so many others I discovered after holding a policy for 8 years (with no claims) that when you need them, they do everything in their power not to pay and to slow things down. I get that things need to be verified and false claims just put up prices for everyone. However, when things go wrong you need your insurance company to move quickly - something YJ are unable and unwilling to do. At every turn new and irrelevant questions - wanting receipts that had been previously provided for something that was not being claimed for were requested. After a months prevarication I was told another 10 weeks were needed even though the damage had been independently verified by a bike shop. I don’t know many cyclists who could do without their bike for 2.5 months. I’ve had bigger and more complex car insurance claims settled and sorted far quicker. It really is difficult to state how bad they are - if you love your bike and love cycling avoid this joke of an outfit like the plague.

The yellow jersey response below is a perfect example of why you should avoid them. It is TOTALLY untrue to say I would not supply any further photos. As per the long and painful exchange with them I stated that it was difficult to see the frame crack and tried to take further images but these were no better than the ones originally supplied. Disingenuous and misleading are the polite way to describe this response. I had stated from the start I was claiming for a frame only but email after email just slowed everything down. YJ had the receipts for the bike as crashed but asked for other totally irrelevant information…slowly. I don’t seem to be the only person suffering from their appalling service….

Just a really bad insurance. Will do anything to pay you as little as they possibly can. As you have other things to do in life than suing them, they get away with it.

Claimed my Insurance for my cycling accident on 29th December 2023. Hit by car on my birthday is definitely not a good start. Connor Peter from yellow insurance assist me with helmet insurance claim and payment received on today. That's a quick few days process. Thank you Yellow Jersey and Rapha . =)

I used Yellow Jersey with RCC, it is quick and reliable. I had a crash recently and I had a broken collarbone. It was settled within a week without any hassle.

The coverage provided was satisfactory, although I was somewhat surprised to find that damages to my bike were not included. Nevertheless, the claims administrator exhibited excellent politeness, precision, and responsiveness.

I honestly submitted a claim for my helmet with zero expectation, I want to say within 48 hours I had a reply, suggestion on how to claim my helmet via the brand as well as through Yellow Jersey and a prompt payment.

Amazing service. Totally hassle free

I had a good service. My questions were answered well.

Despite the claim on the front page of their website "Our customer-driven claims process is managed completely in house" it is outsourced to a company who do not respond to emails, and who have never heard of Ironman. I made a claim for reimbursement of hospital costs in the US on 25/08/23 and I'm still waiting a response almost a month later. Yellow Jersey have just said they do not deal with travel claims and will pass on my email. AVOID
