What is going on with Next?
Another poor experience with Next.
Ordered a men’s shirt to collect the following day, as again no stock in store! Ordered was confirmed as due in some after 12 the following day.
However, when i was ready to collect that evening I still hadn’t received confirmation that is was available to collect. I therefore rang the number of the order confirmation. They said it had arrived in store at 10.30am. They said they would ring the store and call me back to confirm it was there.
A few minutes later they rang to say they couldn’t get a reply from the store but it was there. Really!!
It was needed for a funeral the following day, so I went to the store. The guy in store was very helpful and tried his best to find it, but couldn’t. He rang probably the same people I had spoken to, they told him it was in store, but nobody knew where it could be!
The only option was the cancel and re-order. As I needed it for the following day this was not an option for me. I went to another store and found a suitable alternative.

Have gone too far with the online ordering
I have previously found that the stock available in store is very limited. However, with the range of women’s clothing available I appreciate that space is limited.
However, on this occasion I was amazed at the fact that they do not even stock a regular light blue oxford shirt in store. I needed the item the same day, but for such a basic item it was only available online. They only stock slim fit in store. Really!!
Fortunately, it was Zara to the rescue. Picked up the exact item I wanted within minutes of entering the store.

A long wait for nothing!
Not happy, just wasted nearly half an hour waiting for them to pick up the phone!! Had accidentally pressed wrong buttons on phone for password, no problem apparently I would be put through to an advisor. 20/25 minutes for an advisor to pick up and tell me password is now locked for 24 hours, so will need to ring back tomorrow. Total waste of time. No apology for the ridiculously long wait either.

21st century? Doesn’t seem like it on these trains!
I rarely use trains these days, but having done so 4 days this week I can’t believe things have not moved on in more than 20 years!!!
Standing room only on many services, packed in like sardines. This also results in cattle market approach to boarding trains by passengers. Can’t more carriages be added, or more trains?
One train was absolutely filthy!
Regular delays, resulting in missed connection, so significant impact on arrival time at destination.
Saving grace, all the staff I encountered were helpful and polite.

Service has slipped
When I first started using them delivery was good via Ocado vans. However, things seem to have slipped considerably. On a number of occasions dog food has been out of stock for Ocado delivery, but available for courier delivery. However, although courier delivery is shown as next day this can be misleading. I have been left without dog food! The food my dog needs can only be bought online.
As food can be cheaper with other suppliers it works out the same to just pay for next day delivery if required.
When Fetch asked for feedback and I gave an accurate response it bounced back as not accepted!

Is John Lewis in free fall?
I will no longer be shopping at JL.
I got a call to say the tumble dryer would be delivered in 10/20 minutes. I rang the driver back when it didn't arrive, it was a JL driver not a third party. He said they knocked and didn't get a reply so drove off. I suspect they didn't even arrive. No effort was made to ring me.
After around half an hour on the phone to customer services I cancelled the order. It was clear why the driver wasn't bothered, customer care throughout the organisation is awful.
I escalated the complaint via the email address on their website. No reply.
I escalated to the MD. I received a reply from a member of the customer services team. My reply to her went unanswered. Another email to the MD, a reply from customer services at last.
However, there was no effort made to find an amicable resolution to the issue.
If the person at the top doesn't care that says it all!

Appalling service in Clifton store
Decided to try Wickes instead of B&Q, big mistake!
Items not correctly marked up. 3 for 2 paints offer not on display in store. Girl on till could not tell us if they were 3 for 2, but she had a flier saying so!
To get the 15% off advertised online you have to click & collect. It appears that the idea is that people who just go in store pay more.
Girl on till was useless. We had to tell her at least twice that she had got the price wrong. It must have taken her 10 mins to get it right, after I pointed out where it was wrong.
Back to B & Q for a more professional approach.

Easy to list, sold after 7 days.
Straightforward. Didn't get a lot of interest in first week, but as buyer travelled to view, presume this could have been just due to distance buyers were from us. No time wasters.
Also advertised on eBay, very time consuming to list with some technical problems. Spent 45 mins on phone the following day as problems trying to view listing. They did resolve it, but a lot of time spent on phone.
Would use Auto a Trader again.

Awful customer service!!
Visited their Eccles store, the pharmacist told me they didn't have the item I wanted in stock due to manufacturing shortage. The item did not require a prescription. I asked about alternatives and was told that I could have the item I needed if I got a prescription.
Confusing!
She the told me they did have the item in stock, but we're saving it for prescriptions. So, it would cost me £8.50 instead of the £4.20 retail price.
I asked if I could order it online, she said 'no'.
I checked online and I could order online! Also, all the stores I checked showed the item was in stock, so no shortage.
I contacted customer services, they apologised and said the area manager would contact me. Guess what. Yes, they haven't contacted me.
The government are encouraging us to visit our pharmacist where possible, to save doctors time. Well Boots certainly aren't doing their bit to support this!

Appalling customer service
Placed an online order for click and collect. They sent the wrong order, the store couldn't sort it out, so had to contact customer service.
They told me to post back and re-order! There was a 20% off promotion when I placed the order, I was told they would send me a 20% discount code. The advisor would also add about free delivery, so I didn't need to make another trip to store.
The email which was supposed to include the above didn't arrive! I rang customer services again, what a waste of time. Staff clearly aren't trained. They couldn't promise the discount code I had already been promised, but would put in a request!
I emailed the CEO, let's see if that stirs a response, doubt it in such a badly organised company.
I have now ordered from elsewhere and certainly won't be returning to Selfridges. John Lewis in future for me.

Easy ordering & super fast delivery
Can't beat free next day delivery when ordering at the last minute. Order process was easy.
Couple of things would make it 5 stars for me:
Single bagging of 14kg bags, double bagging means it's a very heavy parcel. Delivery guy had to bring it into house, which he was happy to do.
Choice of different flavours in the 2 x 14kg Beta offer.
Amongst the top 3 suppliers I currently use.

Problem sorted swiftly and to my satisfaction
Purchased a bike 4 months ago. The gears had to be adjusted at the 3 month service, then within a couple of weeks they went altogether.
Although it's not good that the gears failed within such a short time, the service was good when I returned the biketo the Stockport branch. They were happy to repair it, but I wanted a refund as I felt the quality wasn't as expected. I didn't want to have to keep returning it for repair. The staff complied with my request for a refund, which was processed quickly.

Problems with sizing and online sale!
I have always found the service in store good, however, the online experience during the sale is appalling.
The best items in the vip sale went within hours. It does make you wonder if they only put a small selection of items that have low stock anyway in the sale.
Customer service advised no problem, the main sale starts on Saturday at 8am, as was in fact advertised. Thought twice about seeing what was on offer, decided if I was up I would get the half a dozen items I had jotted down.
Logged in at 7.50 to find the sale had already started and the items I wanted were gone. So, they advertised one time, but start early anyway!
Also, the website isn't in real time, it will show an item in stock, but when you add to bag it says sold out!
Sizing is also up the wall! I can order 2 pairs of different skinny jeans in size 12, one will fit, the other won't.
Time to shop elsewhere I think. Where prices aren't as over inflated as Next and the sales are better organised, instead of wasting people's time.
Another issue is if you order click and collect they charge you if you don't collect. However, they send things in dribs and drabs. I ordered a bikini in different sizes to check the fit, they sent all but one pair of briefs in the same parcel, then a few days later another pair of briefs in another parcel. I'm now supposed to call in again and tell them I don't want the item. Other shops don't charge if you don't collect an item!

Do staff receive training on 'how to be unhelpful'?
Went into the Trafford Retail Park store. Couldn't see what I was looking for, so silly me, asked a member of staff! Her unhelpful response was 'we've only got what's out'. As I replied that I just wondered if I was looking in the right place, she walked off.
A short time later she was talking to two other members of staff. Clearly no time for customers, as they're too busy chatting.
I left the store!
Online isn't much better, £5 to click and collect!!

Out of stock!
I order from petdrugsonline every time, but am hastily having to look elsewhere. This time the drug is out of stock!
Have amended my review, as it appears nobody can get hold of this drug! Fortunately, my vet had some of a lower dosage in stock. Have had to buy a couple of months supply from them, at an extortionate cost. Hoping they come back in stock soon, so I cash in the prescription.
Further update 2nd July. Once he was aware of the problem, Simon went out of his way to help me resolve the issue as soon as reasonable practical. Now happily resolved.
