Do not use Nectr
Nectr has been by far the worst energy provider we have ever been with in terms of customer service, readings and billings. It is by far the most illegitimate business structure when it comes to billing and ensuring you pay for a service that is NOT provided which goes again the Australian Consumer Law. We initially signed up with Nectr as they serviced our area, seemed affordable and flexible. We NEVER miss a bill, always pay on time. We disconnected from Nectr and moved to another energy provider due to the 200% almost hike in their fees in our area, when we looked it said they're no longer servicing the area (we live in 4127 QLD so it's not rural) so we decided to switch. They then did a ridiculous summary for a final bill and charged over $300 for 9 days usage, with an estimate on nothing for a final bill rather than an actual meter read for a closing of the account. When enquired, we can no longer access our account/billing as its been revoked a few days ago since the switch and an email response with a "too bad so sad" type of nature when we sent through the ACTUAL meter read. We own an electrical company so are not stupid or unaware of how energy works/ the meter readings. Absolutely disappointing and will be taking this further if not rectified. The constant issues with guestimates, incorrect meter readings, over charging, under charging, the averaging is wild and I dare say the amount overall has been a total joke. We are fair and reasonable consumers/ customers and pay what we need to, though paying over $300 for 9 days of usage in this economy is a bloody stretch. DO BETTER.

AVOID Buyer beware. As soon as you try to leave, NECTR start making your life difficult.
I called yesterday as I am moving home. I spoke with Christine who said I needed to re-sign all over again, give my debit details and ID over the phone and they can not transfer account to new home. I was also told if I disconnected today it would be done 30th. I said I would find a new provider and notify via email of my disconnection but she ignored me. I was told to notify by 3pm so the date would apply. I emailed same day at 2:45pm.
Email ignored. I then received an email from Christine to reconnect. I replied say I had notified of disconnection and to action the request. Ignored. Next day I received an email from Christine at 3:07 pm saying I had to reply by 3:00pm or the new disconnection would be 2 days later. How can I meet a deadline past. I was asked all the same questions i had answered in my original email. I rang to complain. I spoke to Krizza. She had me on speaker and I could barely hear. She said she would try to honour my notification date but soon after I received and email saying the disconnection was the 2nd. All you get is offshore call centres and they are rude and money hungry and try not to push through disconnections all for a meesly few dollars. They say they are low in price but they never do an actual read so we were stung a lump sum. Even after sending through self-metre reads they do not honour them. Stay away at all costs

I have had a number of requests recently by email regarding billing and payments. I have received fast and detailed information from Krizza. This was a great experience and has helped me immensely.
Do not use their VPP
Do not use their VPP, its an excuse to drive up your grid usage to charge the battery, they will also stop you from using your own battery power that the solar system has charged it to. Blatant bait and switch scheme that is not mentioned when selling it to you. Not to mention they lie and say you do not have to be on the vpp for a battery plan until you work out they are ripping you off.

Don’t trust Nectr and be careful about…
Don’t trust Nectr and be careful about signing a contract. We had battery installed (LG) it ended up being one of recalled batteries, but this was prior to it being recalled. So Nectr didn’t believe we had a problem of an overheating battery so this went on for weeks until they sent someone out to check and replace defective battery. So we were lucky a house did not burn down. Please do not trust this provider they are not honest in their dealings with you and they are nice until you sign the contract and then they change and the under hand stuff starts. Please really investigate and look into this provider to signing anything. One day in the future this provider will identified charge with offences against the consumer’s by the ACCC.

Had a great response from Trish at Nectr today as we needed to include others on the email and notification list for medical reasons. Also had a minor technical issue with the installed solar and backup system which hopefully should be resolved in the next few days.

when asking something online
when asking something online, it takes a long time to get a answer, and even then , the question wasn't asked properly. also, on the bill it used to state actual read and estimate, but now is all estimate. they advertising with $ 50 for getting someone to sign up. but it does not show up on my account when logged in, while we both have paid our first bill.........

Please don’t join VPP with Nectr
Please don’t join VPP with Nectr, they control battery and take battery to the grid when we still need battery to use in the house, and force to charge battery from the grid when we don’t need. They tried to get advantage from us after installing the battery.

Beyond a Scam
I'm astounded at the so-called 'customer support' and business practice of this terrible company. We are an apartment of two people and have had bills roughly around $120 every month for the year and a half we've been with this company.
In May, I received a bill for $242 and an estimate of 800kWh for the entire month of April, the app reads we're using the equivalent of a 5+ person home. We've not used the aircon for that month as we moved into cooler weather and our appliances haven't changed or their usage increased.
I emailed customer support asking for clarification and asked specific questions - all were ignored. We were simply told:
"we balance out the electricity we estimated VS the electricity used by you"
and:
"we estimate your bill based on the historical data of your property."
Historical data shows that this time last year our bills were $120 roughly. And every month was about the same except during the hottest times of Summer. It is a blatant lie to tell me it's based on historical data.
Upon reading other reviews (not just on Trustpilot) other users have had this exact same problem. Getting a massive bill after about 12 months and getting stonewalled when reaching out.
These thieves do not care about customer retention.
To add fuel to this bonfire, I submitted a meter read myself and the bill came back $20 more expensive. Absolutely disgusting.

They responded to this review telling me they sent me several in-depth emails explaining my usage. This is another blatant lie as they only repeated what I wrote in this review: That usage is based on historical data etc, there was nothing "in-depth" about them. My questions were indeed ignored. It's further astounding reading them trying to save face with their response here.

It all started by us signing up to their very expensive solar system with monthly free interest payments as well as switching to their Electricity plan, with lower tariffs and yearly bonuses etc etc.
What a pile of rubbish...prior to coming out to install the solar system, we were notified that they could not install the system due to the internal location of our switchboard...
I would have to get a proper Electrician to wire the solar to our switchboard at our extra cost.
There was no issue with their sales guy when he came out to sell us the solar system
Bear in mind that this is the most expensive solar system we came across, nearly 10K including Qld Solar rebate...just under 13K all up.
It became quite clear that is was not going to work out and we cancelled the nectr solar system.
As you can see on previous reviews about their Electricity plans from previous Customers are all too familiar.
Get this! we signed up with them in early Feb 24, we had the first bill on $65 for Feb-March, second bill of $270 for Mach-April.
We gave them the boot last week and went with Origin Energy...I just received another bill for $331 as final bill 2 day after we paid the $270.
Its only the two of us in a small townhouse and we are very conscious of electricity usage.
This Nectr is the worse in the industry, their customer service is useless and please run away from them.
On the Solar Install, we went with SEM Group Australia...great experience and they did it all with no fuss.
SEM Group is a proper Electrical/Solar Air Con Company.
They gave us a great deal and about half of what Nectr was going to cost.
RUN AWAY from Nectr.

Such a positive experience. Jaybie stepped me through the new property set up and even when I didn’t follow the very specific instructions perfectly, they were able to confirm my set up was successful. I’ve been a Nectar customer for a couple of years now and have always been happy with the level of service I’ve received.

My credit card had been cancelled…
My credit card had been cancelled because of a fraud attempt. A new card was issued and did arrive 3 days before due date. After failed several attempts to notify nectr I finally got to a human voice. Failure again. The human in question failed to insert the given info into the right place. So I have received an "overdue" notice. Very bad. I tried again to reach out to nectr. This time again via phone. The steps are poorly designed. But finally success. I wrote to nectr with an explanation.
Finally a positive outcome. Allen did respond with a letter of apology. Finally a positive ending. I shall stay with nectr.
