The overall structure & content of the Tour was good. Pre-tour material was informative. Coach & Hotel quality was excellent. The Indian Tour Guide was friendly & informative. We covered a lot of ground during the fortnight & this on occasion detracted from the overall enjoyment of the experience because we were rushing to reach the next location or arriving at it later than scheduled. There was little time for reflection.

A truly wonderful experience. Well organised, interesting and varied tour with good accommodation and food.

Travelling to China was on ourfamily bucket list but choosing the right tour company made the difference between a good and an amazing trip.
From the very start, nothing was too much for Ling - even down to the volumse of queries and questions about the trip.
The trip itself was superb. The hotel selections were amazing (although the Grand Noble in Xian did let the side down a little!) and their locations were perfect.
The tour guides were all very knowledgeable and helpful. Tiger in Beijing really made the children feel comfortable and confident (even taking the time out to play shuttle cock with them in the bell tower park).
The small tour set up (which turned out just to be our family so in essence a private tour for four) was awesome. Seeing the volumes of coaches with large groups leaving the Grand Noble made us really appreciate the tour structure even more. What was even more amazing was the set up at the meal locations - being ushered past the large group tables to private dining rooms made us feel even more special!
The itinerary is hectic but so worth it. We only had nine days so chose the Heritage and Pandas tour with an extra night stay in Beijing at the end before flying home.
The kids loved all of the activities. The whole family loved the Great Wall (we have never seen so many stairs) and the chance to ski lift up and taboggan down from the tower was fantastic.
Would I recommend this tour company - without a shadow of a doubt. Emporor Tours really made this trip a true trip of a lifetime and I cannot thank them enough for the experience and opportunities provided.

We have just returned from our Legendary Yangzte Cruise holiday yesterday
morning, exhausted but extremely pleased with the whole 3 weeks holiday.
The flight upgrades were certainly worth the extra money with BA.
The whole holiday went light clockwork. We were met by the local guides and
their drivers at each point of our journey. All there waiting for us. Their
local knowledge and friendliness was superb and made our holiday magical. It
obviously helped just being the 2 of us and not part of a large group. Matt
in Shanghai, Heather in Chengdu, Tom in Gullin, Betty in Xian and finally
John in Beijing were excellent and really looked after us. We had some
lovely meals in local restaurants. The other guides who met us for brief
periods to take us from one point to another were extremely good
All the hotels and boats selected I cannot fault. We upgraded cabins on the cruise to one of the two Presidential
Suites as we were offered it a reduced price. Superb. Made the cruise
memorable.
The content of the tour was excellent. The highlights being the Great Wall,
the cookery lesson, the two cruises, cormorant fishing, the Terracotta Army,
rickshaw ride and of course the pandas. All the other trips were good and
helped kept us busy!
The methods of transport were expertly arranged and everything clicked. The
bullet train was amazing.
We would have liked a few more days in Shanghai, but that's something we can
do later.
On the whole a really magical holiday. Thank you Ling for organising the whole
tour. Your help and advice has been without question first class. Being able
to deal with you on a personal level has been a godsend to us after years of
dealing with the bigger tour operators and helped make a special holiday for
us even more special. I will certainly be telling anybody thinking of going
to China to come to your company first.

We had a fabulous three week holiday in China. We really liked China and were impressed with our guides, who were all friendly helpful and knowledgeable, the quality of the meals and accommodation and flights were all good.

Many thanks to everyone at Emperor Tours for a great holiday, we saw groups from other tour operators, and were really pleased we'd booked with Emperor.

My husband and myself booked our trip to China and Hainan Island at the beginning of August travelling 12 September 2016. Ling organised our Chinese visas at no extra cost unlike other companies who charge approx£40 each. Ling also communicated with us regularly and changed some of our flights at short notice to enable us to visit our daughter in Bangkok en route home.
The hotels were all excellent our favourite being the Okra garden in Shanghai and the Hilton in Sanya. Our guides were prompt and usually very informative with varying degrees of english. The Victoria Liana cruise on the Yangtze was very good but I would not rate it as 5 star.
Our flight from Ireland arrived in Beijing at 15.25 and our itinerary stated afternoon visit to Temple of Heaven. This was rather ambitious as we had to go through immigration etc so not sure why it was listed. Needless to say we did not see Temple of Heaven as itemised.The first evening the guide did not seem to be aware that dinner was included and we ended up in a Dim Sum basic cafe.
We book private tours as we have found in the past you can go at your own pace and avoid the places guides/company like to take you to where there is likely to be commission to be gained. We were disappointed that every guide wanted to take us to silk museums, tea houses, see how the warriors were made, Jade factory etc which were NOT on our itinerary and we declined. We had to state this on every evaluation for each individual guide. We went to China to see certain sites not spend time at such places.
On arrival the the Great Wall we had to pay an extra 240 yuan to get the chair lift to walk the wall. So be prepared to pay that extra. The itinerary stated picnic on the wall but we ended up in a restaurant, not a problem.
Would not recommend the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xian. Its a tourist trap where they take you behind the scenes and show you various symbols etc then want you buy something. We did not wish to purchase anything so made a donation of 50 yuan and the volunteer then said she would give us a gift then said it would cost 100 yuan!!!!
The Tang Dynasty dinner show (Xian) was fabulous as was the Shanghai Acrobatic show in Shanghai. The visit to the Panda Breeding Centre (Chengdu) was throughly enjoyable.
The meals that were included were generally good and chosen by the company to accommodate the western tastes but a little more choice would have been good.
Sanya in Hainan Island was lovely and relaxing as our China schedule was very busy with many flights.
All in all we had a lovely holiday but would recommend maybe one leisure day at each location if you can spare the time and extra hotel costs. The itinerary was very clear. I would recommend you carry your itinerary with you on your trips then when the guide says it is on your itinerary (e.g. silk museum etc) you can prove it is not!

Just a quick note to thank you and the team for a great trip. Everything was really good. Hotels were all as expected with the Okura in Shanghai being a cut above most 5 star hotels. All trips were as expected and better with all transfers exactly as planned. The organisation and inclusion of the entrance to the sites made it all very stress free.

A special mention for our guides in Beijing and Xian. Allison in Beijing was very professional, helpful and informative and more than happy to make small changes to the itinery. Her attention to detail was excellent, and she was always ready to assist ans made the stay very good. We were especially grateful for her taking us to the airport and ensuring we were checked in and led to passport control. Brilliant.

Connie in Xian was equally professional (if a little "teachy" to start) and made the stay and guide around the Xian etc just great. Like Allison she was informative, made sure we were sent on our way to Shanghai and joined in with the humour of our group.

Unfortuntely, Cassie our guide in Shanghai, was not particularly good (hence we and the others in our group did not tip her) and she could learn a lot from Allison and Connie, but this did not really detract from an excellent trip.

So, thanks very much again, and I and my travelling colleagues would not hesitate to recommend you and the tour.

Emperor Tours organised for us a well thought of package tour of China. We were well looked after from the early planning stages right through to visa application, meals, tour guides, sightseeing, hotel accommodation, airport transfers including the last day when we left Shanghai airport for the UK. In addition, we thoroughly enjoyed the epic Yangtze river cruise and the unforgettable natural beauty. Cannot fault them at anything as everything was of a good standard and well planned. We would definitely recommend Emperor Tours.

A good tour which took us to major sights in China. The hotels were all good. Apart from the tour guide in Shanghai the tour guides were excellent - very knowledgeable, friendly with good English. The restaurants they chose for us to eat in were good and we have no complaints about the food on our trip. We particularly appreciated the fact that they were with us at the airports for our internal flights and so there were no issues checking in. The only downside was that our plane was delayed for 3 hours upon leaving Xian but this was no fault of Emperor Tours. Another plus was that there was only 9 of us on our tour which made seeing the sights easy. Our tour to China with Emperor tours was better than we thought it would be and Ling at Emperor Tours was helpful and prompt in replying to any queries we had prior to departure.
I would definitely recommend Emperor Tours to anyone thinking of travelling to China.

The guides were very knowledgable, the hotels excellent.
The only downside was it was very hectic and we could have done with a extra day in each place just to look at things on our own and to recover.

We have just returned from an amazing tour of China organised by Emperor Tours. From the early planning stage until the end of the trip, we found the Company to be efficient and extremely helpful. All emails sent to them were answered quickly and nothing was too much trouble in ensuring that all our requests were met. The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent service and support both before and during the holiday.
One or two suggestions. On arrival at Lhasa you need time to acclimatise. The programme provided this but may be the climb to the Potala Palace could be changed from the first morning to later in the stay in Lhasa.
A mention that Lhasa airport is military as well as civilian and that flights can be delayed when the military are flying.
Two very minor things. This was an excellent and memorable tour.

I have had excellent service from Emperor Tours from the booking process to the end of my holiday. Emails and phone calls were answered promptly.
The hotels and food on the tour were all of a very high standard and the various tour guides were friendly, helpful and efficient.
People going on the tour should be aware that this is a very busy holiday and we had to cancel one morning's activities as we were very tired and just needed to rest.
I have already booked another tour with Emperor Tours for next year and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Good standard of hotels in China. At the Harbour Metropole in Hong Kong we declined to pay for a room upgrade so suspect we were then allocated one of their smallest rooms! We were disappointed with a relief guide for the Forbidden City - our tour guide was not available for that morning. In Shanghai we had 2 different guides. The first one was adequate but the second one was useless. He took us to a restaurant and after ordering our meal left us to find our own way to the hotel and abandoned us before check-in at the airport. In Xian my husband had a nasty fall transferring from a dark Kerb into the minibus. Suggest the guide carries a torch.

Just returned from the Heritage and the Pandas tour organised by Emperor Tours which was excellent throughout.
Ling was extremely helpful and very friendly throughout the booking process and nothing was too much trouble. The trip itself was hectic and not for someone one wanting a relaxing beach holiday. it involved early starts and mostly 12 hour days, but the rewards of seeing the highlights of this fantastic country will stay with you forever.
Being within a small group was also a great experience and made it more personal. The guides were all excellent informative,and again, nothing was too much trouble and provided interesting stories of Chinas history throughout our visit. There were several factory visits through the holiday selling authentic made Chinese Gifts, so taking plenty of money is a must.
Hotels ranged from good to excellent. All were clean with the exception of the Sunworld Dynasty Hotel in Bejing which clearly had a Pest problem especially in the buffet restaurant. I would have preferred the original choice of the Crown Plaza which we ate in most nights there.
My only complaints would be that we were made to wait for 3 hours in the airport on arrival in Bejing. This was because other members of our group were on a different flight which landed later than ours. After we had just endured a 10 hour flight, we should never have been made to wait that long and should have been offered a transfer to the hotel with a meet up later in the evening. Also one of our tour guides was very insistent in respect to tips which is optional anyway. Counting out the money in front of a guest is a big no no.
Apart from that, this was a 5 star holiday that I would advise anyone to experience and a big thanks to Evan who organised our Panda Encounter Experience in Chengdu.

Can't recommend them enough from start to finish nothing is left to chance the tour guides know there stuff they even check you in and out of the hotels and are are there to give you advice on local restaurants

This holiday was booked as a trip that myself and my wife had wanted to do for ten years. Emperor tours were brilliant with nothing to much trouble for them. The schedule was very good, if not a little tiring with early starts at times,but this was no real problem. Only quibble was advice 're spending money which I admit is subjective, you need a lot more than you think, mainly because of extra trips to.factory tours etc which you are not aware you are going on. Tour guides on the whole were very, especially Aria in Xian who felt more like a friend than a tour guide.

We wanted to visit Beijing, Xian, Guilin and Shanghsi but also wanted an extended stay in Hong Kong to finish our tour. We also had quite specific requirements with regard to our hotels because as we were travelling with two teenagers, wanted to ensure each hotel had the facilities to keep them occupied! Emperor Tours worked hard to help create the perfect holiday for our family of four and we could not have been more pleased - nothing was too much trouble for them and our bespoke/private tour was also very competitively priced. Our tour guides in every location were excellent and very knowledgable and the organisation was excellent throughout. We were so pleased we opted for a private tour as it gave us flexibility and allowed us to make the most of every location visited. We cannot recommend Emperor more highly (I have already personally recommended them to a close friend) and would not hesitate to use them again if we venture that way again. Had a wonderful trip to China and all thanks to Emporer Tours. From the first enquiry all the way through the trip it was well organised and great. There was only one small hicup when we had to have a temporary guide in Shanghái but any confusión was short lived as after a quick email back to the UK it was all sorted within an hour.

China is a remarkable country and Emperor Tours enabled us to experience it with out any of the worry that can come from being in such a different culture. All the main Guides were outstanding, The Hotels all different but all first rate, Everyone we met was great and the food was impressive and bountiful.

I can not recommend an Emperor Tours China Holiday Highly enough, It´s just a shame it finished so soon.
