Started in Hanoi then overnight on a boat in Halong Bay. Next stop Hoi An for a week then on to Saigon.
Amazing tour, all hotels excellent, wonderful food in both hotels and the restaurants selected by the guides. All tour guides very professional and knowledgable always on time. As we were the only ones on the tour the guides were able to be flexible.
The tour was well put together by Emperor tours giving a good mix of travelling and sightseeing with time for relaxation.
Any time we have contacted Emperor they have always been helpful and provided excellent service.
We will certainly travel with this company again.

The whole trip was organised in great detail, including the private car everywhere.
To use our grandsons terminology it was 'awesome' Beijing was brilliant with the guide being so patient with all our questions along with his vast general knowledge of the area and landmarks.

Xian was equally good the Terracotta Warrior's were an amazing sight, the guide there was very good and passionate about his job too.

In Chengdu the young lady was waiting to meet us.
My wife was a little disappointed at not being able to go in with the Pandas (due to a a case of canine distemper) our guides' enthusiasm for the breeding center and again her knowledge made up for it.

Then on to Shanghai, the guide there did his job well but without quite the enthusiasm of the previous three. I believe that we had been spoiled with the others. The Bund was incredible by day and night.

You certainly lived up to your name and reputation - We were treated like 'Emperors' from start to finish of the entire trip.

We travelled with Emperor Tours on their Legendary Yangtze Cruise tour in September/October 2015, with a three day stay in Hong Kong as an add-on
Were at first apprehensive as the company were some what of an unknown quantity but we should not have worried as everything was organised and worked like clockwork.
Our friends who travelled with us were able to depart from Glasgow local airport, at no additional cost, and we were in a group of only seven which was an excellent party number.
All the British Airways and internal flights were pre booked by the company and there were no problems at all using the E ticket system. At every airport a local guide arrived to meet us and escort us to our hotel or first travel location.
The guides were on the whole good, although being Chinese some of the accents took some getting used to.
We stayed in 3/4/5 star hotels depending on the city location but all of good or reasonable quality.
We had some reservations about the quality of food served during our initial stay in Shanghai but after an Email to tour manager Ling in the UK this improved for the rest of the holiday.
We boarded on the Victoria Lianna cruise ship for the three night part of our journey and we were impressed with the friendliness and efficiency of the crew. The food was of course Chinese orientated but on the whole was very good; the nightly entertainment supplied by the crew was also excellent.
Our visit coincided with the Chinese national autumn holiday week at the beginning of October, of which we were unaware and perhaps should be avoided if possible. Unfortunately when we visited Xian for the Terracotta Warriors and Beijing for our tour there were literally thousands of local Chinese tourists everywhere, making it a bit of a scrum at some visitor sights.
We took some Chinese Yuan currency with us as well as debit cards supplied by the Post Office (No fee for use) and Nationwide. These enabled to withdraw cash easily at a Bank of China ATM machine. Beware however that some bank company cards can be rejected at first use until they are verified and might be a surprise to some people trying to withdraw cash.

I would definitely recommend Emperor Tours and will hopefully travel with them again in the future. They were very efficient and communicated everything in an excellent manner and were always available for pre tour questions with an instant Email response. It allowed us to have a trouble free trip. A special thanks to Ling who was always very reassuring and helpful in all aspects of our holiday with what felt a personal touch.

A private tour In which the flights, hotels, sites, guides, cars and drivers were all excellent.
Small touches like a list of Chinese food to order in restaurants and phrases which you might need, came in handy.
This is the second time we have used emperor tours and would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Emperor Tours are the most flexible company we have ever traveled with,We were able to depart from Manchester, our local airport, at no additional cost, We also asked to change out holiday dates twice without incurring additional expense. We were the only people travelling on this tour and Emperor Tours were more than happy to go ahead with the holiday.
Arrangements prior to departure , including visas, were organised without any fuss and at no additional charge.
The tour takes you on a fascinating journey through China that includes many of the top tourist stops but also the lesser known areas of Dali, Lijiang and Kunming where we felt we experienced a taste of traditional China.
The tour involves five internal flights and on each occasion we were accompanied to the check in at the departure airport and met at the next destination by our follow on guide without any hitches.
The guides were for the most part excellent and very flexible, although on a couple of occasions we did experience language barriers.
Emperor Tours suggest that a tip of around £10 per day for the tour guide and £5 for each driver but emphasise that this is not compulsory. There were several compulsory shopping stops but these were generally quite short and didn't get in the way too much.
The hotels in Beijing,Xian, Guilin and Hong Kong were of an excellent standard. Other hotels although very ornate and typically Chinese in design were probably about 3 stars by UK standards.All were comfortable and we didn't experience the hard bed syndrome mentioned elsewhere.
Breakfasts were generally very good apart from the hotels in Lijang and Dali were they didn't cater as well for Western guests. Lunchtime meals were variable and restaurants were not all to Western standards.
The tour itself was full of activity and required several very early starts but this is inevitable if you are going to so many different destinations in 20 days.
We found the tour to be exceptional value for money and would certainly travel with Emperor Tours again.

With organisation like clockwork, a small group, hotels which were fabulous in each location and fascinating places of interest, this was certainly one of the best trips we have ever been on! The icing on the cake were the guides we had. Mario’s knowledge of Beijing and his care for the group’s welfare could not be surpassed. While in Chengdu, Bob’s enthusiasm and warm personality led to us having a fascinating few days with a visit to the pandas being a real highlight of the holiday! Finally, in Hong Kong, Lily’s sense of humour and insight into the city she lived enhanced the trip considerably.
We would highly recommend Emperor Tours and we are now thinking about where we would like to travel with them next!

Have just returned from a fantastic trip with Emperor tours. We had a local guide and driver at each destination and, without exception, they were first rate. The guides were knowledgable, enthusiastic, friendly, reliable and helpful - they made all the difference and helped us get the most out of a packed itinerary. The hotels were all very good and in great central locations. We had to change plans en-route because of a typhoon in Shanghai but the guides and Emperor Tours organised this seamlessly and quickly for us with very little hassle which was very reassuring and did not impact on our enjoyment at all.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend booking your tour with Emperor.

The whole tour went like clock-work - it was professionally organised from start to finish. The UK office was extremely helpful (thanks Ling) - the tour guides were helpful and knowledgeable - the access around the sites was handled well - the lunch venues were great - the advice was useful. My transition between cities was spot-on and everything was timed to perfection and the overall cost was very competitive. I have no complaints whatsoever and I wish to express a big thank-you to everyone involved.

much more than we expected from the tour, when we arrived at Beijing airport we were met by our tour guide Ken only to find that myself and my husband were the only two people on the tour, this could have gone totally wrong if it hadnt been for our AMAZING tour guide KEN, we did all of our itinerary and Ken made suggestions for us to do, i can not stress just how good he was, down to helping us check in at Beijing airport for our Flight to XIan, He was also amazing and Linda our tour guide was also excellent overall our trip was just the best. Beijing and Xian are great places to visit.

The only slight negative comment i have is with the internal flights, i would like to have been asked by Emperor tours about booking seats for this as i am a nervous flier and i was put 10 rows away from my husband, this was not good for me at all, the stewards on the plane did in the end manage to move us so we could sit together, i understand there may be a charge made for booking seats by you at Emperor tours for this but i am sure most people would not object to a small fee. Could you please take this into consideration,

My husband and I went on a tour of Vietnam that included a beach stay in Hoian. Every aspect of this holiday was excellent. The tour was really well organised, and we went to see so many fabulous places and ate delicious food, that really gave us the flavour of Vietnam. The Guides and Drivers were fantastic, they were very professional, knowledgable and really looked after us. All the hotels were a very good standard with staff that could not do enough for you, but the Boutique Hoian Resort was my idea of paradise!! I had the pinch myself, what a beautiful location!!! We booked this holiday to celebrate our mutual 50th birthdays and our 25th wedding anniversary, and it ticked all our boxes, infact it surpassed our expectations. We felt like we'd been on a much more expensive holiday than we'd paid for. I have already recommended Emperor tours to several people and would not hesitate to book with them again.

We have just had a great holiday in Japan and Cambodia organized by Emperor Tours. It had complicated connections between buses, trains and aircraft and all went smoothly with no mistakes. The tours organized had good English speaking guides and took us to all the major sites. We also had freedom to do our own thing on certain days which we found to be a big plus. The Cambodian part was just to Angkor but we went round every temple in the place with a guide that spoke reasonable English. All in all I would say that if you want a trip to the far East you would not go wrong with Emperor Tours, I highly recommend them.

Emperor Tours were extremely flexible during the booking process - we asked them to alter the itinerary to include additional places we wanted to visit and this was absolutely no problem for them, they arranged it very promptly and were happy to accommodate anything we asked for. They were very efficient and reliable, with fast responses and ensured our visa was sorted extremely quickly and hassle-free. The tour guides in China all spoke excellent English, and did their utmost to make sure that everything went smoothly. They arranged our itinerary so that we made the most of our time in each place, avoiding the crowds where possible and took us to excellent restaurants. Overall, very good value and would highly recommend.

I gave Emperor Tours our requirements with regard to the places we wanted to visit in Vietnam and they put together the perfect itinary for us which included 2 personal guides and drivers, an overnight stay on a boat, internal flights and bookings in excellent hotels. Our trip was trouble-free and very enjoyable. We had booked through Emperor Tours 7 years ago and were so delighted with the service they provided then that we trusted them entirely with this trip and we were not disappointed. We would have no hesitation in recommending them.

We were very impressed with our Vietnam tour everything went like clockwork with excellent guides who looked after us every step of the way and made us feel welcome. We had private tours which gave us more intimate understanding of the country. We would us Emperour Tours again.

This was a no hich trip, everything went as clockwork.

As usual most of the arrangements that were made for us were first class and the local companies were mostly very good.

The guide in Singapore was not aware that he had to provide drinking water but once he had view of the itinerary there was not a problem.

We both enjoyed the holiday very much, having knowledgeable friendly guides makes such a difference, John our guide in Thailand was truly excellent at his job and he also had a lovely personality which is so important when you spend so much time together.

I would also like to mention our driver in Thailand, while he did not speak very much English he did understood us very well and we felt very safe with him because his driving skills were exceptional.

Most of the hotels met or exceeded our expectations except the Felix River Resort and the Hmong Hill Tribe Lodge.

The staff at the Felix Resort were not very friendly the room and toilet were dirty there was no hot water or TV available upon our arrival, when I asked to speak to the general manager they lied saying that he was not on site but when I stood my ground he became available and took my complaint seriously.

What can I say about the Hmong Lodge. . . . .appalling is the word that comes to mind, absolutely appalling given the conditions at this establishment we were lucky to have survived. The accommodation was less than 1 star being nothing more than dark shacks with grass thatched roofs. There was no air conditioning or hair drier in the room and the water quality was a health risk. The water supply to the basin, shower and toilet was filthy, discoloured and full of suspended particulates.

When I poured a glass of water from the tap to inspect it I noticed it was full of decomposing organic material rotting leaf material it foul. Half an hour earlier I had taken a shower and it was this that aroused my suspicions.

I have an appointment with my GP to discuss the obvious risk to my personal health.

However the evening barbeque was lovely and the high point of our stay at this place but by morning the standard had once again slipped and we left having abandoned our breakfast.

As I have mentioned overall this was a very enjoyable holiday but we had expected at least 4 star accommodation through out our holiday plainly Hmong Lodge did not even meet the standard for 1 star and we recommend that you take responsibility for yourselves if this accommodation forms part of your itinerary.

We have recently returned from a fabulous tour in China organised by family owned and run Emperor Tours.

We had a fantastic time, not least because of the care & attention bestowed upon us, not only during our trip, but in the weeks preceding the actual holiday. Nothing was too much trouble.

We find it so rare these days to find operatives that actually care about the small details - in fact its those details that made one feel really appreciated.

Ling & Richard were professional throughout & a pleasure to deal with.

Most of the tour not only
met but exceeded our expectations. The experienced guides employed by Emperor took pride in their work ethic and delivered a first class service. We have travelled extensively and usually do things ourselves -this was a first for us - handing over the arrangements as we did - & it was something we know we'd be happy to repeat with this company.

We had a National Guide from Beijing accompany us for the whole tour & they should get a special mention here. Great fun & incredibly interesting.
China is all we hoped for & more - we are already planning our next holiday & will happily recommend Emperor Tours to our friends & family.

I have just arrived back from my fantastic holiday in China and just cannot find the words that really express my deepest gratitude to you for organising such a wonderful experience for myself and my companion.
I can honestly say that there was not one thing that I could find to complain about, everything was truly first class. The guides were absolutely first class, professional, and friendly, as were the drivers that we had.
The food and restaurants were excellent, so much so I now need to go on a diet. I will be recommending your company to all of my friends and if I find myself in the position will most certainly use you again myself.

6. The air tickets, baggage tags and excellent brochure detailing the itinerary, including historical background of places for visit, arrived well in time before departure and we felt reassured that Emperor Tours do offer an excellent service.
